Andy Muschietti recently shared his thoughts on why The Flash struggled at the box office. Despite having a well-known character and a $200 million budget, the movie failed to connect with audiences, grossing only $271.4 million worldwide.
While many pointed to production delays, legal issues surrounding lead actor Ezra Miller, and criticism of the film’s writing and visual effects, Muschietti offered another reason during an interview with Radio Tu.
He explained, “The Flash failed, beyond all the other reasons, because it wasn’t a movie that appealed to all four quadrants. It failed in that regard. When you spend $200 million making a movie, Warner wants to bring even your grandmother to the theaters. And I discovered in private conversations that many people simply don’t care about Flash as a character—particularly the two female quadrants. All of this is headwind working against the film, as I’ve learned.”
This remark sparked heated discussions online.

Deadpool & Wolverine introduced the Worst Wolverine, whose tragic past involved him failing to show up to assist the X-Men when they needed him the most, leading to their demise. However, a theory suggests that Marvel Studios could expand on this Wolverine’s backstory when introducing the chief antagonist of the Multiverse Saga.

Given that the character was a part of Deadpool’s third film, there was a lot of meta stuff going on with the characters. With Others looking for an ending (given that they came from franchises that were axed before their time), Wolverine could be the representative of a timeline that had a slew of Fox Marvel properties co-existing, which could mean that Rdj’s Doctor Doom could be a part of that universe.

Looming over seven seasons of "Young Sheldon" was a grand tragedy: the family's patriarch, George Sr. (Lance Barber) was doomed by "Big Bang Theory" canon to die before Sheldon went to college. Although the show took some liberties with other elements of Old Sheldon's backstory — for instance, George Sr., played by Lance Barber, is a way better father in the prequel spin-off than Sheldon ever made him sound — the writers always knew there was no backing out of George Sr.'s death. That event was simply too big a part of Sheldon's character to rewrite.
For a lot of the older cast members of "Young Sheldon," this unavoidable tragedy was known from the start. But Raegan Revord, who played Sheldon' cool twin sister Missy, only learned about it after already beginning the show. As she explained in a recent interview:
"When I [first] did the show, I mean, I was nine years old.

This Wednesday, brace yourselves for jungle action, untamed romance, and more in the pages of Marvel Comics' Rogue: The Savage Land #1.
The series, first announced last September, will be written by Tim Seeley (Venom War: Wolverine) and illustrated by new artist sensation and Marvel Art Atelier winner Zulema Lavina in her Marvel Comics debut.
The five-issue limited series promises to take fans back to Chris Claremont and Jim Lee's legendary Uncanny X-Men #269 and #274-275 where Rogue embarked on a wild journey in the Savage Land, began her passionate relationship with Magneto, and sported her now iconic Savage Land look.
However, we're sure you'll recognise that costume from the 1990s pin-ups released by Marvel Comics, with Jim Lee responsible for creating this "Savage Land" look before he left to help found Image.
This story is billed as a pivotal chapter in Rogue’s history, and at long last, it's said...

Marvel wasn't always the powerhouse that it is now. Even years after "Blade" and "X-Men" hit it big, it took a while for the industry to catch up and start regularly turning Marvel Comics characters into successful theatrical franchises. When "Iron Man" hit theaters in 2008 and kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it, everything changed. But in the early 2000s, there was kind of a wild west vibe going on. In that time, some real clunkers made their way out into the world. "Elektra" is at or very near the top (or perhaps bottom) of that list.

Halle Berry has announced a helping hand to those affected by the California fires. As of writing, the fires in Palisades, Eaton, and other neighborhoods took 11 lives and destroyed more than 10,000 buildings. Moreover, some 153,000 residents were displaced due to the fires. Berry shared that she was packing up her entire closet and donating it to the displaced families.

They called her out for offering “clothes” at a time when the families most needed money to rebuild their entire lives. However, other fans were more supportive of her attempts to provide the basic necessities to those needed.

The conversation around Marvel’s mutants has been growing more and more persistent as they are making their way into the franchise. As a new chapter opens for the beloved aspect of the comics, people have begun to discuss what actors could play which characters. Most recently, Cynthia Erivo put her name in the mix, revealing that she wants to play Storm.

While this could certainly be an interesting choice on Marvel’s part, more than a few fans are not on board with the idea. With this, new names have been brought into the conversation, and one Star Wars actress from a failed series could be well deserving of the title.

Marvel Studios is all set to unleash the Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World, played by Harrison Ford. Ford replaced the late William Hurt as Thaddeus Thunderbolt Ross, who earlier had an encounter with Edward Norton’s Hulk. In the comics, the two characters cannot stand each other and go head-to-head.

In fact, Ross’ transformation to the Red Hulk is somewhat fueled by his personal vendetta against the Hulk. Despite displaying almost similar powers of superhuman strength, durability, and endurance, there are some key differences between the characters in terms of powers and other aspects.

Marvel Studios gave us one of the greatest villains that cinema has ever seen in Thanos. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is no stranger to complex, gripping villains, with the likes of Loki, The Vulture, and the Winter Soldier all earning the franchise appreciation from fans. But the amount of care it took in the storytelling department when building up to Thanos' introduction, and the way that all involved nailed his characterization, it was impossible not to fear him whenever he finally confronted the Avengers.
The Infinity Saga's conclusion brought an end to Thanos but it also set the stage for a new villain to take over as the McU's Big Bad. It was initially set to be Kang the Conqueror, who would operate as the Multiverse Saga's main villain, but he was eventually replaced by Doctor Doom (who will be played by the returning Robert Downey Jr.). A major Wicked star is putting her name to play an iconic Marvel heroine in the MCU! Can it happen?
Among the big questions regarding the MCU is how they can use the X-Men. Long before the MCU came about, the 2000s X-Men movies were among the first major blockbusters based on Marvel Comics. Starting with the 2000 movie, the franchise spawned a total of thirteen movies, highlighted by Hugh Jackman's star-making turn as Wolverine.
Fox released those movies and thus Disney couldn't use them until they bought the studio in 2019. However, Disney did produce X-Men '97, a continuation of the beloved 1990s X-Men animated series.
Deadpool & Wolverine also integrated the X-Men into things. Additionally, the post-credits scene for The Marvels had Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) finding herself on an alternate Earth to meet the Beast (Kelsey Grammer) and a version of her late mother Maria (Lashana Lynch), who was the superpowered Binary.

Rumor: Hulk Vs. Wolverine Movie Being Saved For Mutant Saga; Will Likely Tie Into Avengers Vs. X-men
When the Marvel Cinematic Universe launched in 2008, it was with Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk. The latter was neither a hit nor a flop, but given the tepid response to the reboot and behind-the-scenes issues with actor Edward Norton, it quickly became the franchise's black sheep.
Rights issues with Universal Pictures also came into play and it wasn't until 2022's She-Hulk: Attorney at Law that The Incredible Hulk was referenced in a meaningful way (next up is The Leader's return in Captain America: Brave New World).
We first told you about rumoured plans for a Hulk vs. Wolverine movie in November. Now, reliable leaker @Cryptic4KQual has shared some additional insights into this long-awaited battle and what it could mean for both the Mutant Saga and the rumoured Avengers vs. X-Men movie.
"I'm told the next Hulk-oriented film most likely isn't going to be a [Hulk vs. Wolverine] film," the insider posits.

Wicked was one of the most successful movies of 2024, and Cynthia Erivo was at the center of it; as Elphaba the future wicked witch of the west, she was fierce, fragile and back-to-front compelling. With the sequel film Wicked: For Good on tap for this November, she's only likely to keep getting good press, which means the time is right for her to seek out her dream role.

While Cynthia Erivo continues to astonish audiences with her stunning portrayal of Elphaba Thropp for Jon M. Chu’s Wicked, she’s still dreaming of roles she’d like to conquer after the Wicked Witch of the West’s musical adaptation rides a twister out of theaters early next year. Speaking with the National Board of Review, Erivo told the outlet one of her dream roles is Ororo Munroe, aka Storm from Marvel’s X-Men. Ororo Monroe, aka Storm of the X-Men, has been a busy woman lately. Storm recently joined the Avengers, and her ongoing solo series "Storm" has already been plenty eventful with only three issues so far.
To recap: Storm saved Tulsa from a nuclear meltdown, which was, in fact, a mutant child experiencing power onset. This inspired her to build the hovering "Storm Sanctuary" for mutants, but it also left her with radiation poisoning. After being sent to Brother Voodoo for some magical treatment, her life is saved, but she can't use her mutant powers for one week. So in "Storm" #3, Ororo visited Rogue's Uncanny X-Men in Louisiana and hooked up with Wolverine. At the issue's end, she was summoned by Doctor Doom who, since the 2024 crossover "Blood Hunt," is the Earth's new Sorcerer Supreme.

Image Source: 20th Century Studios When The Greatest Showman was announced with Hugh Jackman as the star, many fans were curious—and a bit skeptical—about what to expect. Jackman was best known as Wolverine from the X-Men franchise and had built a resume filled with action-packed blockbusters, romantic dramas, and fantasy adventures. But a singing role in a musical? That was uncharted territory for fans. Could he pull it off? Turns out, not only could he do it—but he had the perfect background for it. Jackman’s roots in performing arts ran deep. After graduating from an Australian performing arts academy, he hit the stage in productions like Beauty and the Beast and even starred in a filmed London stage version of Oklahoma! Though those earlier roles showcased his musical talents, they hadn’t received widespread attention. When the opportunity to star in The Greatest Showman came his way,...

There's a rumor doing the rounds online that Marvel Studios has met with Cynthia Erivo about potentially playing Storm in the long-awaited X-Men reboot, and whether there's any truth to this or not, the Wicked star certainly seems interested in suiting-up as the powerful mutant hero.
Erivo was asked if there's a "dream role" she'd like to manifest while being interviewed by the National Board of Review.
"I really want to play Storm," she responded. "I know it sounds frivolous, but I think we haven't uncovered how grand she is and all of that inner turmoil that she has, so I think there's a world where we could do something like that."
While Erivo would be a huge get for Marvel Studios after her star-making turn in Wicked, we have heard that the studio is looking for actors in the early to mid-20s age range to play the McU's Children of the Atom,...

Hollywood has long been fascinated with the concept of time travel. Whether it is killer cyborgs from the future or extra-terrestrials capable of simultaneously communicating with the past and future, we've had no shortage of captivating time-travel films. Often, these movies eschew logic for thrills, hoping viewers are more enamored with the spectacle to worry about plot contrivances. Then again, sometimes writers and directors make too much sense and threaten to put viewers into a coma with their scientific reasoning. Either way, most time-travel adventures produced in Tinseltown tend to leave some sort of mark on audiences, for better or worse.
Don't worry; we've sifted through the legion of titles to determine the 15 best time-travel films to ensure you don't waste your precious time with mere trifles. Grab your sunglasses, hop in your nearest DeLorean or phone booth, and prepare to go on a wicked journey into the past.

James Mangold’s ‘Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi’ is set 25,000 years before George Lucas’ saga so he wasn't "handcuffed by so much lore".The 61-year-old filmmaker is set to helm the upcoming sci-fi blockbuster - which will showcase the origins of the Jedi Order - and has now explained he chose to set ‘Dawn of the Jedi’ long before the events of the Skywalker saga in an effort to ensure he had full creative control of the story.Speaking to MovieWeb, he said: "The ‘Star Wars’ movie would be taking place 25,000 years before any known ‘Star Wars’ movies take place. Rumor: Wicked Star Cynthia Erivo Is Being Eyed For The Role Of Storm In Marvel Studios' X-men Reboot
While a handful of MCU movies have been dated for after Avengers: Secret Wars, there's been no word on exactly when Marvel Studios' X-Men reboot will be released.
We know that Michael Lesslie (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) is penning the screenplay, but beyond that, updates have been few and far between. Unsurprisingly, social media scoopers are already dropping hints about who could play Marvel's Merry Mutants.
Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is supposedly being eyed for the role of Jean Grey and, according to scooper @MyTimeToShineH, Wicked's Cynthia Erivo is "one of the actors Marvel has been eyeing for Storm."
Sink is 22 and Erivo is 38, so that's a big age difference between the two team members. However, it's possible Marvel Studios is casting a wide net and has yet to decide whether we're getting an established team of Uncanny X-Men or a younger group of First Class-style mutants.

The Hulk and Wolverine have a long and complicated history in Marvel comics, often going from friends to enemies many times. Both are well-known and loved characters, with the Hulk mostly working alone or with the Avengers, while Wolverine is closely tied to the X-Men as one of their most famous members.
Although both have appeared in movies, they haven’t yet had a showdown, mainly because of copyright problems. But now that the X-Men are joining the MCU, a crossover is more likely than ever.
We’ve already gotten a brief taste of what the showdown might look like in last year’s ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ however beyond that one short scene, fans were hoping for an entire movie that pits Hulk and Wolverine against each other.
Naturally, there is no official word on that kind of project yet, as Hulk is notoriously one of the most important...

The highly anticipated Wicked sequel received a new title last month — Wicked: For Good. Although fans had mixed reactions about the new title, director Jon M. Chu was quick to defend it, saying it was always the plan.
“Who wants a movie called ‘Wicked: Part Two’?” Chu told Variety. “On the script, it always said, ‘For Good,’ and so it was just a point of like, ‘Do we really want to call this “Part Two”?’ And nobody wants that.” The director added that they didn’t consider any other titles. “I mean, that’s the destination. ‘For Good,’ we know, is like, ‘Where are we going with this movie? Let’s finish this thing,’” Chu explained.
The new title takes inspiration from one of the musical’s most well-known songs, a duet between Elphaba and Glinda performed near the end of the musical as a farewell.

Sir Ian McKellen has faced Balrogs, moved metal with his mind, and owned every stage he’s stepped on, but this one role took him to the brink, leaving him questioning if he’d make it out alive. This wasn’t just another day in the life of Gandalf or Magneto. This was something way more intense.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman: Deadpool & Wolverine was 2024’s biggest-selling home entertainment title in the U.K.
The expletive-ridden Marvel movie topped the list with 561,917 sales in Britain, more than 80 percent of them digital, according to new figures from the Digital Entertainment and Retail Association (Era).
The action film — which welcomed back the Australian star in his iconic X-Men role — also led physical video sales, though revenue in the space continued to face challenges, declining 7.9 percent to £156.3 million ($194 million). Blu-ray sales were up almost 5 percent on 2023, however, although still below 2022 levels.
The good news is that total video spending grew though due to streaming, the biggest driver being subscriptions to services like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV, which grew by 8.3 percent to £4.5 billion ($5.6 billion) last year — almost 90 percent of total video revenue.

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to grow and grow, it begs the question of just how much bigger the world's most famous franchise can go. I mean, when you've surpassed the stratosphere a decade ago, everyone has to ask that question at some point. Heck, it's been asked time and time again. And somehow, Marvel continues to defy expectations.
The franchise has expanded its own horizons in recent years through the Multiverse Saga, welcoming in characters and concepts from Marvel movies long before the MCU was a thing. But its ambitions didn't stop there, as it has also seen the franchise make its way onto Disney Plus through the format of TV shows and standalone specials. Although there were some blips along the way, the studio endured with last year's comebacks Deadpool and Wolverine and Agatha All Along. And it will no doubt continue to do so when the...

With Kevin Feige dividing his attention between theatrical and streaming releases during the first two Phases of the Multiverse Saga, it's fair to say this era of storytelling has been more hit-or-miss than most would have liked.
There's still been far more good than bad but several titles have underperformed both critically and commercially. Meanwhile, an apparent lack of direction has frustrated fans (Kang the Conqueror being ditched for Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom is among the biggest changes we've seen over the past year or two).
It's widely believed that the Mutant Saga is next for Marvel Studios and it could be what sets this franchise back on the right track alongside the upcoming Avengers movies which precede it, Doomsday and Secret Wars.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is going to be set in an alternate version of the 199999 universe, where the 1960s were dominated by the existence of The Fantastic Four. There was another film that looked into an alternate sixties, featuring Marvel heroes: X-Men: First Class.

One of the many reasons that the Fantastic Four will be introduced in a universe of their own is that the MCU already has a pretty muddled history, and the introduction of Marvel’s First Family is only going to make it more complicated. A similar approach can be taken with the X-Men, but instead of having the merry mutants appear in yet another Universe, Marvel should bring back the old First Class cast, and have them share a universe with The Fantastic Four.

In the landscape of multiplayer games, few features have been as anticipated and as difficult to perfect as PvE mode. Games like Overwatch made significant efforts to integrate a compelling PvE experience, but despite its best efforts, it struggled to meet the expectations set by its passionate fanbase.

Now, a new contender has arrived that might just have the formula to get it right: Marvel Rivals. This title has already generated quite a buzz in the community since its release. Ahead of the ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ premiere, Kevin Feige rated the movie an 8/10 in terms of its impact on the future of the MCU. The film turned out to be an exciting ride, with Deadpool jumping through various realities in search of a Wolverine variant who could save his reality.
The Wolverine featured in the movie is quite different from the one we saw in the Fox X-Men franchise. In this reality, the X-Men have seemingly perished, and Wolverine has given up being a hero due to grief and a sense of failure. The locals also appear to blame him for their troubles, as this version of Wolverine spent his time drinking while his team was being slaughtered.
The dark reality of Wolverine’s universe in the film may be a glimpse of what’s to come in the MCU’s mainline universe, Earth-616, and could even be the origin of Doctor Doom.

The reign of the X-Men ended after 20 glorious years. With 14 myriad films in its collection, the Foxverse never fell short of wild, unpredictable, and adrenaline-packed scenes that could exterminate any other cinematic universe in its radius, especially Kevin Feige’s boy-scout-like realm of the MCU.

With Marvel Rivals all set to drop the Fantastic Four in its Season 1 update this January 10, and NetEase Games having several more heroes waiting in the wings according to recent leaks, it’s clear that the developer isn’t messing around when it comes to expanding their roster. This aggressive release schedule got us thinking about some of the more… unusual candidates who could potentially join the fray.
Four characters in a single season. Take that, Overwatch 2. | Image Credit: NetEase Games
Speaking of unusual, there’s one particular mutant hero who’s so obscure that even the most die-hard Marvel fans might have trouble “remembering” him. Actually, that’s not just a figure of speech—being forgotten is quite literally his superpower.
And while some might dismiss him as a gimmick character, we think he could be the most hilariously broken addition to Marvel Rivals yet.

Hugh Jackman started playing Wolverine nearly 25 years ago, and he is still projected to win awards for the role in 2025. In fact, he is widely considered to be one of the first amazing casting decisions for a Marvel hero.

If you look back at "Deadpool & Wolverine" coverage from about a year ago, you won't see the most famous member of the X-Men's name in the title. As recently as December 2023, /Film and other outlets were simply calling the future highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time "Deadpool 3." Why? According to an interview Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy recently did with IndieWire, it all goes back to some tricky legal ins and outs related to the heroes involved -- Wade Wilson aka Deadpool (Reynolds) and James Howlett aka Logan aka Wolverine (Hugh Jackman).
"For some reason, we weren't allowed to use the name Wolverine in the title," actor, co-writer, and producer Reynolds told Indiewire, noting that he pitched studio head Kevin Feige "a dozen, maybe 16" Deadpool-related movies before settling on the idea they ended up with. James Gunn's Superman won't be Nicholas Hoult's first brush with the superhero genre (he played Beast in 20th Century Fox's X-Men movies), but it will be his first time portraying a major DC Comics character after narrowly missing out on landing the part of Bruce Wayne/The Dark Knight in Matt Reeves' The Batman - and screen-testing for the Man of Steel himself.
Hoult was actually a contender to play Superman prior to David Corenswet being cast, but realized that he might be a better fit for the hero's nemesis while reading Gunn's script.
"It's funny, because when I first read the script, I remember reading it and there was a little inkling part of me that was like 'Oh, I think you would have fun playing Lex,'" Hoult said during a recent interview with Deadline. "And I kind of didn't say anything, and then...

Nicholas Hoult can work with 5000 rats on Nosferatu but he draws the line at fake ice cream. Hoult shared his experience of being given fake ice cream for a scene and recalled how he acted like a diva and refused to eat it. Interestingly, a few days earlier, he shared another story where he worked in a disgusting situation with almost 5000 rats.

Deadpool & Wolverine was one of 2024's biggest hits and a movie that went a long way in restoring faith in the MCU after a somewhat hit-and-miss Multiverse Saga.
Rather than bringing the Merc with the Mouth into the MCU - or Earth-616, to be a little more specific - it celebrated 20th Century Fox's X-Men Universe and franchises like Blade, Elektra, and Fantastic Four. Of course, what truly made the R-Rated blockbuster excel was the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.
Talking to IndieWire, Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy and writer/star Ryan Reynolds were asked whether "Deadpool vs. Wolverine" was always the plan.
"I must have pitched Kevin a dozen, maybe 16, Deadpool movies, a Sundance Deadpool, which was like a road trip with Margo Martindale, shot on no money, no special effects needed, just character," Reynolds explained. "I pitched 'Deadpool Is Hunting,' the hunter who...

A lot of the MCU takes inspiration from the Ultimate Marvel line of comics, as is evident in characters like The Hulk, Iron Man, and Nick Fury. Given that the X-Men and the Fantastic Four will now be heading to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well, it stands to reason that they might emulate their Ultimate Marvel versions as well.

With the Fantastic Four making their debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it stands to reason that they might, too, take some inspiration from their Ultimate Universe counterpart. While Reed Richards of the Ultimate Marvel continuity would end up becoming The Maker, Ben Grimm would get a much radder update which might be something Ebon Moss-Bachrach would be keen on exploring in the MCU.
