MCU is slowly preparing for the release of two highly anticipated ‘Avengers’ movies, ‘Doomsday’ and its sequel, ‘Secret Wars.’ Both movies are going to be a part of phase 6 of the MCU and even though we still don’t know what the plot will be, we can assume that the movie will adapt ‘Time Runs Out’ and ‘Secret Wars’ storylines, at least partially.

Rutherford complains to Tendi that his implants should boost his brain power and make him a better engineer. Rutherford mentions Data’s computing power, and that it made Data a better engineer than him (Rutherford) and “he wasn’t even an engineer.

There are many things wrong with Josh Trank's 2015 superhero film "Fantastic Four." Mostly, the movie can't quite find its way to a solid tone and oscillates from fun and funny to bleak or scary, often with no clear rhyme or reason for doing so. There is an element of wonderment as Reed Richard (Miles Teller) finds a way to travel into alternate dimensions, but the film is also weirdly sarcastic and downbeat, complete with po-faced performances from its four leads. The film even spends some time acting like a Cronenbergian horror movie as the Fantastic Four discover their superpowers have mutated their bodies.

Then there's a brief span of superhero deconstruction, as the Four realize that their powers are being utilized as military tools of death and destruction. Then, quite quickly, the film becomes cartoony and silly as Doctor Doom (Toby Kebbel) plans some sort of dimension-hopping world conquest.

Doctor Doom is famously Reed Richards’ ultimate arch nemesis, as the two have been rivals since before they became a super-villain and superhero, respectively. However, that’s just in Marvel’s main continuity of Earth-616. In the newly-introduced continuity of Earth-6160 aka the Ultimate Universe, Reed Richards doesn’t have to worry about Doom, as his greatest nemesis is actually himself. Though, in the most tragic way imaginable, it’s not that simple.

In the Ultimate Universe, Victor von Doom is not Doctor Doom. Instead, the version of Reed Richards native to this universe is Doom. In recent weeks, much has been said about classic Fantastic Four villain Annihilus being the main villain in Marvel Television's planned Nova TV series.

It makes sense to introduce the Arthrosian and his Annihilation Wave there, though it does likely mean he won't start life off as an antagonist in The Fantastic Four franchise. Despite that, there's something very exciting about the prospect of Nova either adapting Annihilation or setting the stage for the event in a future cosmic MCU movie. 

Now, the latter looks more likely based on new intel shared by insider Daniel Richtman. 

He says that Annihilus won't be a one-off villain in Nova; instead, he's expected to appear in other projects as well, likely meaning the cosmic corner of the MCU just found a new big bad.

It's not outside the realm of possibility that Annihilus becomes the next Thanos, particularly if that Annihilation Wave makes its way to Earth.

Showrunner Bruno Heller first gained notoriety for creating the historical epic series Rome before developing the procedural show The Mentalist. Centered on a faux psychic named Patrick Jane, the show saw him collaborate with the California Bureau of Investigation in multiple cases while trying to pursue his wife’s killer.

The show lasted seven seasons and amassed a huge fanbase, especially around lead actor Simon Baker. Heller had at the time only created Rome, and his next show immediately became a hit. When asked what inspired him to develop the series, he said that he wanted to create a character like Sherlock Holmes.

There's a great deal of excitement to finally see Nova in the MCU. James Gunn decided against introducing Richard Rider in Guardians of the Galaxy because he wanted Star-Lord to be the movie's only human, and the Nova Corps has been largely sidelined ever since.

We've known for some time now that Marvel Television is working on a Nova TV series; however, it's not expected to hit Disney+ until after Avengers: Secret Wars is released in 2027.

Annihilus, originally a Fantastic Four adversary, wields the Cosmic Control Rod, granting him immense power and longevity, and he is, according to some earlier rumors, going to be the main villain in the series.

It's recently come to my attention that the Fantastic Four has a secret fifth superhero in its ranks. Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and the Thing have frequently operated alongside Spider-Man, even referring to him as part of their family on occasion, and I would argue that he's an honorary member of the team. Spider-Man's strong connection and history with the Fantastic Four proves that he is their fifth teammate.

The Fantastic Four are regarded as Marvel's First Family for good reason, due to their status as a family first and a team second. With that structure in mind, their roster is more exclusive than most, yet Spider-Man has operated with them enough times to warrant membership.

Roy Thomas and Jim Craig first portrayed Spider-Man as a Fantastic Four hero in 1976's What If? #1, as pictured above, and that hypothetical idea has since become a reality in more ways than one.

In fact, Marvel Comics' 2024 summer event, Blood Hunt, was a vampire-themed line-wide crossover. The launch of Marvel Rivals Season 1 and the Blood Hunt event are spaced apart, but if things were timed differently, overlapping the first season with the launch of the event could have directed some of the gamers toward the comics, potentially making a new generation of comic fans.

Marvel Studios may soon recast T'Challa's Black Panther in the MCU, and this new version of the iconic Wakandan hero could appear as soon as 2025's The Fantastic Four: First Steps. T'Challa made his first appearance in the MCU back in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, portrayed by the late Chadwick Boseman. Boseman's tragic and sudden passing in 2020 spurred Ryan Coogler to also write T'Challa out of 2022's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and while Letitia Wright's Shuri stepped up as the new Black Panther, recent reports suggest T'Challa may be returning.

Chadwick Boseman appeared in four live-action feature films as T'Challa's Black Panther, had a posthumous cameo in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and also posthumously loaned his voice to four episodes of What If...?. Many wanted T'Challa to be recast following Boseman's passing, but Marvel instead elected to kill off the Black Panther, leaving a huge void in the MCU.

Barbarian (watch it Here) writer/director Zach Cregger has assembled a strong cast for his mysterious horror project called Weapons, including Julia Garner (Ozark), Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men), Alden Ehrenreich (Solo), Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange), Amy Madigan (Antlers), Austin Abrams (Euphoria), June Diane Raphael (Grace and Frankie), and Cary Christopher (Days of Our Lives)… and during an interview with Collider, Garner said that we should not expect Weapons to be “a proper horror movie.”

Most details about Weapons are shrouded in mystery. It has been said that it’s “an interrelated, multistory horror epic” that’s tonally in the vein of Paul Thomas Anderson’s Magnolia, and The Hollywood Reporter adds that the story revolves around the disappearance of high schoolers in a small town.

Dan Slott, the Eisner-winning writer who has been the guiding force for Spider-Man stories at Marvel Comics for close to 15 years, has gone across the street to DC.

Slott, who has been signed to an exclusive contract with Marvel since the late aughts, will make his DC debut with Superman Unlimited, writing the monthly comic that will be drawn by Rafael Albuquerque, the artist and co-creator of the award-winning horror comic American Vampire. DC announced the news Thursday.

The title will be a driving force in a company-wide initiative named “Summer of Superman” that ties into James Gunn’s Superman film. The inaugural feature from Warner Bros. Discovery arm DC Studios opens July 11.
