Disney Branded Television has rounded out The Wilkersons for the upcoming limited, four-episode revival of Malcolm In the Middle on Disney+, which will reveal the sex and name of the quirky family’s sixth child.
Original cast members Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield are set to reprise their roles as Malcolm’s older brothers Francis and Reese, respectively, joining Frankie Muniz, Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek who are back as Malcolm and the Wilkerson parents Hal and Lois, respectively.
Caleb Ellsworth-Clark is taking over the role of genius Malcolm’s (Muniz) younger brother, Dewey. The recasting is not surprising. Erik Per Sullivan, who played the role on the original series, was not expected to return as he quit acting in 2010 and has not participated in any of the Malcolm In the Middle reunions.

In the world of sitcoms, only a few shows have managed to completely captivate the audience with their humour and sarcastic jabs. One such show was Modern Family, which can easily find its spot in the top three of every comedy fan. It presented a stellar ensemble out in the open and, just like any other show, also featured some of the most famous faces from Hollywood.

But one of the most unexpected appearances happened all the way back in Season 1, long before it became a comedy juggernaut. The show featured none other than Edward Norton, known for his intense performances in Fight Club, American History X and Marvel’s The Incredible Hulk. The role he played in the show was also a surprising delight for his fans.
Edward Norton’s cameo in Modern Family deserved its own spinoff.

The Oscars race for Best Supporting Actor has lacked the drama of other categories this year — so it's fitting that the clear favorite is nominated for his role in a comedy. A Real Pain star Kieran Culkin leads Gold Derby's odds to take home the statuette on March 2 — and it doesn't look like Yura Borisov (Anora), Edward Norton (A Complete Unknown), Guy Pearce (The Brutalist), or Jeremy Strong (The Apprentice) can do anything about it. But who has the best shot at pulling off the upset? Let's break down the category.
Frontrunner: Kieran Culkin
In A Real Pain, Culkin plays Benji, an obnoxious yet charming drifter who accompanies his cousin, David (Jesse Eisenberg), on a tour through Poland to honor their late grandmother. Two years after his Emmy win for Succession, nearly every Oscar expert predicts...

Cinema, being as powerful an art form as it is, is no stranger when it comes to taking on controversial or taboo topics. American History X took on neo-Nazism and white supremacy in the U.S., Zero Dark Thirty covered practices of torture used by the C.I.A. in the hunt for Bin Laden, and Trainspotting was a heartbreaking but fun exploration of crippling drug addiction. But few films have taken on what is arguably the most controversial subject of all: Adolf Hitler. The Nazis themselves have featured in plenty of the great war and action films, from Raiders of the Lost Arkto Saving Private Ryan.

As Oscar voting begins to wrap, the person most pegged to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor is the person it has always been since the beginning of last year. “A Real Pain” star Kieran Culkin has won the Golden Globe, the Critics Choice Award, the BAFTA, and likely the SAG Award, in addition to all the critics prizes the Emmy winner has collected for his first big role since the end of “Succession.”

Hollywood Feuds, On-Set Clashes, Celeb Fights, Movie Drama, Behind-the-Scenes (Photo Credit – Facebook)
Hollywood lives and breathes drama — but well, folks, the literal action happens off-screen. Be it screaming matches or brawls, some of the biggest names in the industry have clashed behind the scenes, which left a trail of broken friendships, bruised egos, and unfathomable feuds.
Some fights ended with handshakes. Others? Not so much.
Bill Murray vs. Lucy Liu
The set of Charlie’s Angels had more than high kicks and undercover missions. Lucy Liu alluded in 2021 that Bill Murray stopped filming to unload on her. He hurled insults and claimed she “couldn’t act.” Drew Barrymore later backed her up, saying she witnessed the whole stuff. Liu didn’t just take it; she threw punches before crew members separated them.
Murray’s grudge ran deep. If Liu were in it, he refused to return for the 2003 sequel, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.

Few young actors have had quite as surprising a film debut as Edward Norton in the 1996 thriller Primal Fear. As Aaron Stampler, a 19 year-old Kentucky altar boy seemingly being framed for murder, this little-known actor was taken to the audience’s heart with his heartfelt pleas of his innocence. It was not until the film’s final shocking moments that they learned the truth about Aaron and recognized the enormous acting chops of Norton. Critics and the Academy responded as well, with Norton earning his first Oscar nomination for his performance.
From there, his career blossomed, demonstrating his impressive skills in a range of genres, from mysteries to rom-coms and even a Woody Allen musical. But dramas regularly produced his most impressive work, as in 1998 when he earned his second Oscar nomination as a white supremacist leader who comes to see the error of his ways in American History X....

Jennifer Lien's star was on the rise before she was cut from Star Trek: Voyager at the beginning of the series' fourth season. Not only had she been a soap opera actress, appearing as Hannah Moore in Another World, but she voiced Elle on the Men in Black series. While she had some good scenes in Voyager, nothing could really be classified as a stand out unless you count her time in "Warlord." It wasn't until she was cast as Davina in American History X that her true talent came out.
Gone was the meek and quiet Kes from Voyager. In her place was the wife of a paroled neo-Nazi, Derek, a woman who, despite the abuse she suffered, stood up to him and tried to give back as good as she got. In fact, there wasn't even the slighest hint of Kes in Lien's portrayal as Davina.

There are many factors that contribute to how strong of an impact a movie has on the audience. The originality of the idea; how profound, or occasionally disturbing, the themes touched upon are; the intensity of the actors' performances. Sometimes, however, some movies strike chords so deep, hit too close, or are so authentic that, regardless of their excellent execution, they should be enjoyed only once. The impact is too significant to ever recover from — and this is not limited to the most disturbing horror movies.
Usually, these movies are not the happiest stories you can find on screens, and not just because of a tragic ending. They are intense, challenging, and sometimes even shocking. In their daily life, people seek refuge in movies, but these sorts of titles provide everything but that. They offer something different: uncomfortable questions, doubts, and occasionally, unnerving truths. Although they are not common, there...

Edward Norton, the guest on this episode of The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, has been one of our finest screen actors for 30 years. He’s a three-time Oscar nominee, twice nominated before the age of 30, and it’s looking increasingly likely that he’ll pick up a fourth nom later this month in recognition of his touching portrayal of the gentle folk singer Pete Seeger opposite Timothée Chalamet’s Bob Dylan in James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown. He already was nominated for a Golden Globe Award, and he is nominated for Critics Choice and SAG awards.
Described by the Los Angeles Times as “the Gen-y actor’s actor, the inheritor of the great acting mantle worn by such luminaries as Robert De Niro and Dustin Hoffman” and by Cineaste magazine as “one of the most powerful actors in American films… one of those genius-touched chameleons like Alec Guinness or Daniel Day-Lewis,...

Following the recent trend of biopics based on prominent figures in the music industry, A Complete Unknown tells the story of iconic singer/songwriter Bob Dylan, offering a dramatic, music-driven look at the beloved performer's life. The film is directed by James Mangold, the Oscar-nominated filmmaker who also directed Walk the Line, the 2005 biopic about Johnny Cash. Although it was only recently released, A Complete Unknown has already made quite a splash, securing multiple nominations at the upcoming Golden Globes.
Of course, being a biopic, most of the characters in A Complete Unknown are based on other real people, not just Dylan himself. The film takes a deep dive into what the music industry was like in the 1960s, offering presentations of numerous major figures, both in the spotlight and behind the scenes. “A Complete Unknown” is a departure for Edward Norton, even though he’s quick to point out he’s played kind-hearted souls before — including, surprisingly, referencing Smoochy the Rhino from “Death to Smoochy,” an early, unexpected, comedic zag in this interview from Norton while discussing his buzzed-about performance as folk legend Pete Seeger.
And he’s right. He has played, as he puts it, “decent people” — he’s most definitely not always in that wiseacre vibe of Worm in “Rounders” or flirting with the emotional rage and misery of Monty in Spike Lee’s “25th Hour.” But his interpretation of Pete Seeger is unique in that he plays him with this true north earnestness … but with an undercut of passive aggressiveness that comes biting through when Timotheé Chalamet’s Bob Dylan does something Pete doesn’t see eye to eye with. This happens quite often during the events of “A Complete Unknown.

Did Edward Norton work to play a role in American History X? ( Photo Credit – Netflix )
Edward Norton gained 30 lbs of muscle, shaved his head, and ate seven times a day, focusing on chicken, turkey, and fish. No shortcuts.
Released in 1998, American History X became a powerful movie about race, redemption, and loyalty. Despite only making $23M on a $20M budget, Norton snagged an Oscar nomination for Best Leading Actor. His dedication brought Derek to life with raw, unflinching realism, making the character’s struggles hit harder and feel realer than ever.
Norton’s commitment went beyond physical changes. He took on the role after turning down Saving Private Ryan, showing how deeply invested he was in bringing authenticity to American History X. He shaved his head alongside co-star Edward Furlong and increased his caloric intake to build an intimidating physique. It was about embodying Derek’s raw power and unyielding energy.

Timothée Chalamet and James Mangold will receive the Visionary Tribute for their film “A Complete Unknown” at this year’s Gotham Awards, it was announced today. The upcoming Bob Dylan biopic from Searchlight Pictures will be honored at the 34th edition of The Gothams, taking place on Monday, Dec. 2 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
The Gotham Visionary Tribute recognizes groundbreaking collaborations that push the boundaries of storytelling in film.
“In ‘A Complete Unknown,’ Timothée Chalamet and James Mangold have beautifully captured Dylan’s emergence in 1960s New York not just as an artistic evolution, but as a meditation on the necessity of change,” said Jeffrey Sharp, Executive Director of The Gotham. “Through Chalamet’s breathtakingly authentic performance and Mangold’s masterful direction, we witness Dylan’s transformation from folk prophet to electric rebel, showing how growth often requires letting go of the very relationships and identities that shaped us.

“It’s a punk Marvel movie.” So says director Tony Kaye about his latest film, The Trainer, one of the more intriguing films to world premiere this year at the Rome Film Festival (October 16-27).
The Trainer centres on Jack Flex, a penniless fitness expert who takes a maniacal swing at fame and fortune by trying to sell the Heavy Hat, an obviously dangerous fitness gadget, on his mum’s favourite home shopping channel.

“Eccentric” is a word we throw around a lot in Hollywood. We use it for financiers from faraway places with deep pockets and no real connection to show business. Or for actors that exist on different planes of consciousness and, perhaps, speak of cow birthing in their Oscar speeches. It’s a polite way of saying one is nutty.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good fright: Buffalo 8 has acquired worldwide distribution rights for the upcoming holiday horror thriller “Final Recovery.”
From the team behind the award-winning series “Kombucha Cure,” the film marks the first lead role for veteran character actor Jasper Cole, who has over 120 film and television credits to his name in a career that has spanned four decades.
“Final Recovery” is about an addiction recovery facility, Sage, in Southeast Michigan where profits (and not healing) are the top priority. Louise “Nanny Lou” Stamey owns and operates the center, and while most in town believe her to be saint-like, the reality is much more sinister and twisted. Only after patients Rodney and Dustin become suspicious of Nanny Lou’s motives do things begin to unravel.

Fight Club is a cult classic movie with an unforgettable cast. Its plot revolves around an unnamed narrator on the verge of a breakdown, suffering from insomnia, and going through a series of unfortunate events. After befriending a puzzling soap salesman, the two invest their time in a shocking new form of therapy between men, which quickly spirals out of control.
Directed by David Fincher, one of the most talented names in the thriller genre, the movie perfectly adapts the book of the same name by Chuck Palahniuk, although the two Fight Clubs have completely different endings. Much of its success is thanks to its star-studded cast portraying the many distinct characters in its story.

Once there was a time when movies could crash and burn and still overcome their slow start to amass a cult following. The Shawshank Redemption sits atop the IMDb Top 250 Movies list, indisputably the crowd favorite of the internet. That isn't a shocker, it's been near the top spot for decades, but what is remarkable is that audiences only discovered it years afterward in the form of VHS copies and bad edits airing on TNT at 1 Am. Many highly-esteemed movies, whether Citizen Kane (often cited as the best movie of all time), Idiocracy, American History X, Brazil, The Big Lebowski, or American Psycho, disappointed at launch. Want to predict which films will ultimately leave an indelible imprint on pop culture ten years from now and which ones will fade into oblivion? Good luck. Leave the box office tallies to the bean counters. It means nothing.

Starring as Bob Dylan in the biographical movie A Complete Unknown is Timothe Chalamet, who's joined by a plethora of other talented actors. The 1990s were a prosperous decade for movies, with blockbusters, award-winning motion pictures, and cult classics all being released. One main reason these movies have been successful and beloved for many years is the incorporated talent on display. The 1990s allowed several young stars to get their chance in the spotlight and fellow acting veterans to continue proving they had the capability of leading a film.
However, once this nostalgic decade concluded, some of these big-name stars appeared in fewer movies. This resulted in a point where they decided to take a break from the Hollywood scene and focus on other priorities. Whether it is a case of wanting to move away from the abundant fame or a career-killing project, these movie actors, from Joe Pesci to Macaulay Culkin, never achieved the same success they did in the 1990s.

Jim Carrey became a significant name in the industry for his slapstick roles. However, apart from his contributions to comedy, the Canadian actor also garnered widespread fame for dramatic roles in films like The Truman Show and Man on the Moon. Sadly, Carrey never got his deserved respect for his serious roles. His role in The Truman Show did not even get an Oscar nod.

James Cameron's 1991 action spectacular "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" felt, at the time, like the biggest movie imaginable. Cameron upgraded his low-budget 1984 original into one of the slickest, most visually innovative action movies made to date, featuring a robotic villain that could transform into a living blob of shape-shifting mercury-like metal. The villainous robot, the T-1000 (Robert Patrick), travels back in time from the future to kill the adolescent John Connor (Edward Furlong), destined to lead a resistance force against an army of machines. Yes, the future in Cameron's movies is bleak; robots will soon achieve consciousness and, almost instantly, detonate a nuclear bomb.
Luckily, John has his mentally unbalanced mother Sarah (Linda Hamilton) to look after him, as well as a "good" time-traveling Terminator robot (Arnold Schwarzenegger) reprogrammed to protect him. By the end of the film, it seems that the characters were able to close off several causality...

Star Matt Damon, who appeared in the 1998 poker drama Rounders with Edward Norton, is keen on making a sequel.
It’s not uncommon for an actor to be out on the press circuit and be questioned about a film they’d love to do a sequel for. However, when that actor has their own production company, any answer they give has a much greater chance of actually happening. Recently on The Rich Eisen Show, Matt Damon was asked that very question and he didn’t have to think too hard about his response.
“The one that we’ve been talking about for years – and I just saw Edward Norton a few weeks ago, [and] all of us want to do it – is a second Rounders movie,” Damon said, as picked up by The Hollywood Reporter. “Because so much has happened in that poker world in the last 25 years, it would be...

After a career spent tackling some of the most challenging roles in Hollywood in films such as “Motherless Brooklyn,” “Fight Club’” and “American History X,” Edward Norton has started to work in TV.
Norton is doing his work behind the camera, but it could make him and his colleagues some of the medium’s most influential. Exclusive: With Benedict Cumberbatch departing Searchlight Pictures and James Mangold’s Bob Dylan movie A Complete Unknown following scheduling issues, his replacement has been found, with Edward Norton tapped to play Pete Seeger. He now joins an ensemble that features Timothée Chalamet as Dylan and Elle Fanning on board to play Sylvie Russo. Mangold will direct.

When it comes to lone acting Oscar nominations, the category with the fewest examples is Best Supporting Actor. After two consecutive years of there being no new additions to that subgroup, Brian Tyree Henry (“Causeway”) became its 54th member in 2023 after having been largely ignored by other awards bodies over the preceding weeks. He directly followed Tom Hanks, who is the only other entrant from the last five years.
Within the last decade, this club has only grown by seven, with those who preceded Hanks and Henry being Robert Duvall, Sylvester Stallone, Michael Shannon, Willem Dafoe, and Christopher Plummer. 2018 marked the fifth instance of two men accomplishing the feat at once, thus tying the category’s record for most bids of this kind in a single year. Contextually, the corresponding Best Supporting Actress record is three, while that of both lead categories is four.
