The Arun Vijay starrer Tamil action-drama Vanangaan has been witnessing a stable run at the box office but at the lower levels. The movie had wrapped up its opening weeks with 6 crores. Here is taking a look at its box office performance on the 9th day.
Vanangaan Box Office Collection Day 9
On its 9th day, the film earned around 39 lakhs. This was a drop of almost 9% because the movie had earned 43 lakhs on the previous day. The movie had witnessed an opening of 90 lakhs. This was not very satisfactory as an opening of at least 1 crore and above was expected out of the Arun Vijay starrer. However, the movie saw a decent increase of 27% and earned 1.15 crore on its second day.
The total India net collection of the film now stands at 7.2 crores. On its 9th day, the film has managed to...

Chhaava Box Office: Vicky Kaushak Starrer To Be The Biggest Valentine’s Day Opener? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava is one of the big Bollywood releases everyone looks forward to in 2025. The film is enjoying the right buzz; all it needs is one powerful trailer. A single trailer filled with goosebumps moments will be enough to set the stage and help the film register a fantastic opening at the Indian box office. If all goes well, it might even topple Gully Boy, which holds the record for the highest opening among Valentine’s Day releases.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, of Mimi and Zara Hatke Zara Bachke fame, the upcoming Bollywood magnum opus is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Vicky plays the titular role, and along with him, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, and Ashutosh Rana in key roles. It is bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films,...

Decoding The Post-covid Box Office Run Of Ajay Devgn ( Photo Credit – YouTube )
The post-covid era has not been fruitful for Ajay Devgn as he is yet to achieve the 1000 crore net collection milestone despite as many as eight theatrical releases. It’s been heartbreaking that two potential blockbusters failed to ignite expected fireworks at the Indian box office. Just recently, his Singham Again failed to meet sky-high expectations, facing a huge deficit compared to its gigantic budget. Keep reading for a detailed report about Ajay’s post-covid run!
Several actors have suffered in the post-pandemic era, and Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff are the best examples. For Ajay, it isn’t entirely a poor run, as he has tasted two big successes in the form of Drishyam 2 and Shaitaan. However, all other films have failed to even cover their budgets. So, the Bollywood star has two theatrical successes and six failures in his kitty.

I honestly never expected Steven Spielberg in a Criterion Channel series––certainly not one that pairs him with Kogonada, anime, and Johnny Mnemonic––but so’s the power of artificial intelligence. Perhaps his greatest film (at this point I don’t need to tell you the title) plays with After Yang, Ghost in the Shell, and pre-Matrix Keanu in July’s aptly titled “AI” boasting also Spike Jonze’s Her, Carpenter’s Dark Star, and Computer Chess. Much more analog is a British Noir collection obviously carrying the likes of Odd Man Out, Night and the City, and The Small Back Room, further filled by Joseph Losey’s Time Without Pity and Basil Dearden’s It Always Rains on Sunday. (No two ways about it: these movies have great titles.) An Elvis retrospective brings six features, and the consensus best (Don Siegel’s Flaming Star) comes September 1.

“Basil!”
John Cleese is set to revive his classic 1970s comedy Fawlty Towers.
In a shock move that will likely divide fans of the original, Cleese will write and star in the show alongside his daughter Camilla Cleese. Matthew George (Wind River, A Private War), Rob Reiner, Michele Reiner and Derrick Rossi are executive producing the series for Castle Rock Television, which is developing the project.
The new Fawlty Towers is set to explore how Cleese’s cynical, over-the-top and misanthropic Basil Fawlty navigates the modern world. With plot details largely under wraps, the series will explore the relationship between Basil and a daughter he has just discovered he had, as the two tempt fate and team up to run a boutique hotel.
“What I like about Matt is that, unlike many producers, he really ‘gets’ the creative process,” said Cleese, most recently known as a vocal campaigner against “cancel culture.

From thrillers to sci-fi to horror, here's our pick of 20 films from 1986 that surely deserve a bit more love...
A fascinating year for film, 1986. It was a time when a glossy, expensive movie about handsome men in planes could dominate the box-office, sure (that would be Top Gun). But it was also a year when Oliver Stone went off with just $6m and came back with Platoon, one of the biggest hits of the year both financially and in terms of accolades. It was also a period when the British movie industry was briefly back on its feet, resulting in a new golden age of great films - one or two of them are even on this list.
As ever, there were certain films that, despite their entertainment value or genuine brilliance in terms of movie making, somehow managed to slip through the net. So to redress the balance a little,...

Disney tackled Sherlock Holmes back in 1986, in an animated movie that's more groundbreaking than it's given credit for...
You never miss Sherlock Holmes on screen for long these days. In just the last decade we had BBC's Sherlock, CBS' Elementary, Guy Ritchie's Sherlock: Holmes a Game of Shadows, and Bill Condon's Mr. Holmes, in which Ian McKellen played an aged version of the sleuth.
With such a familiar character, it's no surprise that revisionist takes are in vogue at the moment, and certainly, there are precedents in film and TV. In the early 1970s, author Eve Titus and illustrator Paul Galdone remounted the whole concept for children's literature with the Basil Of Baker Street novels, in which mice stood in for Holmes and Watson, making deductions from the gutters and mouseholes of Victorian London.
Disney's 1986 adaptation of those books, The Great Mouse Detective, is one...

Ride With The Devil (Criterion) Ang Lee’s revisionist take on the Civil War is awash in moral ambiguity, along with some stunning cinematography, production design, and fine performances. Set during the Kansas-Missouri border war, Tobey Maguire and Skeet Ulrich star as two friends who join up with the Confederate-sympathizing Bushwhackers, finding an odd ally in a former slave (Jeffrey Wright). While it’s fascinating to see America’s bloodiest conflict through the eyes of a foreigner, thereby allowing much of the previously mentioned ambiguity a certain latitude, the film never loses the bad taste it leaves for one simple reason: it asks us, the audience, to side with not just the Confederates, but some of the lowest trash that made up the dregs, and the fringes, of the movement. Big points for audacity, but snake eyes on the story itself. Singer Jewel is impressive in her film debut.

Welcome to another edition of Movies That Deserve a Second Life. If you need a refresher on what I’m referring to by “second life,” check out the Action/Adventure Edition. If you’re caught up, read on to see what funny flics I felt were unfairly ignored/disliked upon its release or have been forgotten in the years since its release.
Comedy is almost certainly the most subjective of all genres. What makes one person laugh is guaranteed to make another yawn or wrinkle his/her brow. Some find juvenilia in poor taste while others bust a gut. Everyone claims to have a sense of humor, but almost no one enjoys every type of humor there is, from dry wit and pungent satire to bodily fluid gags and intentionally groan-worthy puns. Therefore, I think it’s safe to say that no one (besides myself) will be satisfied with every choice.
