Many well-known stars have been impacted by the recent Los Angeles wildfires. Actress and television personality Ricki Lake, however, recently talked about a supernatural warning she may have received. Notably, this prediction was made by another television personality.

Lake’s breakout role was arguably Tracy Turnblad in John Waters’ 1988 film, Hairspray. She would later appear in a ew other of Waters’ projects, such as Cry-Baby and Serial Mom. Other notable films Lake appeared in include Mrs. Winterbourne and Last Exit to Brooklyn.

In 1993, Lake would go on to host her own talk show, which ran until 2004. Lake also briefly hosted a revival series in 2012.

According to Us Weekly, Lake was one of many stars to have been impacted by the recent Los Angeles wildfires. However, the star claims to have had some eerie warning about what was to happen.

Amazon Prime Video is the place to go for movies this month, with a plethora of original films as well as new library additions for just about every movie fan. The Emma Roberts-led original Space Cadet hits the streaming service aptly on the Fourth of July, for anyone looking for a fish-out-of-water style comedy. Before he became a movie star, Brendan Fraser had a minor role in the coming-of-age film Now and Then. Released in 1995, Now and Then put the coming-of-age genre on its ear by featuring an all-female cast. The movie assembled an all-star group of established stars and future icons to play its four main characters, portrayed at different ages in the past and present. In addition to being a vehicle for Melanie Griffith and Demi Moore, it was a jumping-off point for Thora Birch and Christina Ricci to begin taking on more young adult roles. Brendan Fraser also played an iconic role in the film, but his part was uncredited.

Evelyn Sakash, a veteran production designer and scenic artist who won a Daytime Emmy for PBS’ Between the Lions and worked on films, including Still Alice and Mrs. Winterbourne, was found dead Tuesday at her New York City home. She was 66.

The Associated Press reported that Sakash was a known hoarder and was found lying on her kitchen floor under a pile of garbage. The body was discovered by her sister, who told police she had hired a cleaning crew to clear the home in Queens and to look for Sakash. The medical examiner’s office will work to determine the cause of death.

A missing-persons report filed with the NYPD said Sakash hadn’t been seen since September 30.

Along with her Daytime Emmy win in 2003, she picked up another nom for the live-action/puppetry series Between the Lines the following year. Her other TV credits include all episodes of the 1994-97 Nick Jr.

Loren Dean is joining Clint Eastwood’s next film The Mule as a DEA agent in the film which Eastwood will be producing, directing, and starring in. The Warner Bros.’ movie is based on a 2014 New York Times Magazine piece by Sam Dolnick and follows Earl Stone (Eastwood), a man in his 80s who is broke, alone, and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive—easy enough but, unbeknownst to Earl, he’s just signed on as a drug courier and just hit the radar of hard-charging DEA agent Colin Bates (Bradley Cooper). Dean will be playing DEA agent Brown, alongside fellow agent Cooper in their hunt for Stone. Eastwood will produce via his Malpaso banner, along with Imperative’s Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas.

Ricki Lake didn’t grow up thinking she would ever play an ingenue.

“I remember telling my mom I wanted to be in Annie, and she told me, ‘You’re not the starving orphan type,’ ” the actress says in the current issue of People.

But at 18 years old, Lake won the starring role of plus-size optimist Tracy Turnblad in John Waters’s 1988 hit film Hairspray.

The part made Lake, 48, a star, but she had no idea her Tracy would inspire the young Marissa Jaret Winokur, who would go on to win a Tony for playing the character in the 2002 Broadway musical based on the film.

Jane Krakowski is no stranger to showbiz awards. In 1986 and 1987, she was nominated at the Daytime Emmys for Best Ingenue for playing the role of Rebecca "T.R." Kendall on "Search for Tomorrow." After leaving the daytime drama, Krakowski set her sights on Broadway, originating the role of Dinah in "Starlight Express" in 1987 and playing it for nearly two years before garnering a 1990 Tony nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for playing Flaemmchen in "Grand Hotel." The best award shows have their dubious moments, and the 40th annual Daytime Emmy Awards — which Snicks lovingly liveblogged last night– simply teemed with unexpected and bizarre moments that brought the best (and weirdest) out of many presenters. I also enjoyed planned hilarity like Kathy Griffin‘s presenter speech, in which she quoted four lines of nutty dialogue from nominated soap operas and Betty White‘s tribute to the late game show producer Bob Stewart. But here are five wacky moments I’m still thinking about.

Los Angeles — Ricki Lake was a babe in the talk show woods when her syndicated program launched nearly two decades ago.

Looking back at the 24-year-old actress she was then, Lake pronounces the 1993 career move "a little bit presumptous," although "Ricki Lake" quickly won over a young-adult audience that wanted a peppy take on life and love from someone like them.

"I didn't know what I was signing up for. I didn't know how to host a show. I didn't know who I was or have a point of view. I basically was grateful to have the job," recalls Lake. "I thought, `Great, I can pay my rent for six months.'"

Lake, who turns 44 this month, has been changed by marriage, children, divorce and remarriage. So have her ambitions for her return to the daytime arena with "The Ricki Lake Show," debuting Monday (check local listings).

Grey’s Anatomy – A Monk returns

A familiar face is coming back to Seattle Grace this fall, will you remember her? That’s right, Grey’s Anatomy will welcome back actress Debra Monk, who portrayed George’s mother, Louise, once upon a time. George was, of course, the character of T.R. Knight. George is no longer on the show due to an untimely death. Fans will recall the bus accident that prevented George from leaving for the military.

Will Louise’s come back be bittersweet? TV Line assumes she’ll enter the hospital as a patient. Can’t you foresee a very emotional reunion for Louise, Meredith and Bailey? Oh my. Don’t forget that Callie was once Louise’s daughter-in-law and a whole lot has changed since those days! This reunion episode of sorts is scheduled to air November 3rd.

Brendan Fraser has had a bumpy box office track record since he first came to prominence in 1992 with Encino Man. Audiences have most appreciated him in the adventure arena, namely The Mummy movies, with one family-oriented success in George of the Jungle. Other than that, he's never carried a non-adventure hit on his own. This weekend, he's the sole above-the-title-billed star of Furry Vengeance, a family comedy that sees Mr. Fraser mining the territory of some of his worst-performing movies. Encino Man, a comedy in which Fraser played a thawed-out caveman going to high school, opened on Memorial Day weekend in 1992 and ultimately grossed $40.7 million (or the equivalent of over $75 million adjusted for ticket price inflation). The relative success of the movie launched not only Fraser, but Pauly Shore. Shore's two most successful comedies, Son-in-Law and In the Army Now, featured Mr. Fraser in uncredited cameos as his Encino Man character.
