Last night, Don Draper and Harry Crane set off on a noble quest. Their goal: To convince the Rolling Stones to record a jingle for nature’s sexiest food, Heinz baked beans. Alas, Scdp’s brave knights were thwarted when a stoned Harry accidentally signed The Trade Winds* instead of Mick, Brian, and the gang. Their defeat was stinging; only eating 20-odd hamburgers could help soften the blow.
Though some viewers might have found this storyline goofy, Mad Men isn’t nuts for suggesting the Stones might sell out, even at the height of their popularity. As Don told a teenager at the concert,...

She's just fat.
Since many fans of Mad Men have professed their hatred for Betty Draper/Francis over the years, I'm sure very few were sad to see that she added weight gain to her constant state of sadness during the hiatus.
Betty's increased size, which was a way of covering up January Jones' real life pregnancy, Betty's health scare and how everyone reacted to both covered a majority of what happened in "Tea Leaves."
Unlike many Mad Men viewers, I have always enjoyed the character of Betty. She has always been interesting to me, whether it be her relationship with Don, how she treated the children,or her new marriage to Henry. Her actions here were no different.
Most interesting? Her reaction to finding out that her tumor was in fact benign. "It's nice to be put through the ringer and find out... I'm just fat," she said after hearing the news.

Considering Sunday's (April 1) episode of "Mad Men" marked Jon Hamm's first time in the role of director, suffice to say the guy did good. In the episode -- technically the third of the season since the season opener counted as two eps -- we continued to see his character, Don Draper, grow as a husband and a human being. And he's not the only one who's grown.
The new Don Draper is able to resist the temptations of a teenage (although above age of consent, we're sure) flirt backstage at a Rolling Stones concert and is completely rocked when he finds out that his ex -- January Jones returning as a now portly Betty Francis -- may have cancer.
We just need to pause to applaud show creator Matt Weiner...

AMPAS’ Festival Grants Committee Chair Buffy Shutt announced on Thursday that it had awarded $450,000 to 30 U.S. film festivals for the 2011 calendar year.
From AMPAS:
The Chicago International Film Festival will be the recipient of a multiyear grant for its World Cinema Spotlight program. It will receive a total of $150,000 over a three-year period. The Nashville Film Festival and the New Orleans Film Festival are each in the third and final year of a multiyear grant, with each receiving $75,000 in total for numerous outreach programs.
While the grants are awarded for a variety of festival programs, organizers are encouraged to submit proposals intended to make festival events more accessible to the general public, provide greater access to minority and less visible filmmakers, and help strengthen the connection between filmmakers and the general public.
The 2011 film festival grants allocations are as follows:
