Don’t expect another Back to the Future film, as co-writer Bob Gale seemingly shoots down the possibility despite fan desires.
On Sunday, February 2, the Saturn Awards honored Back to the Future on its 40th Anniversary with the George Pal Memorial Award. Gale, Christopher Lloyd, and Lea Thompson received the honor, and the writer addressed fan desire for a fourth installment of the sci-fi film.
“People always say, ‘When are you guys going to do Back to the Future 4? And we say, ‘F*** you!’ Gale jokingly said while accepting the honor. “You can quote me on that.”
He continued, “No, we made three terrific movies and people kept asking for more Back to the Future. So we made Back to the Future: The Musical, which Chris and Lea have attended on several occasions.”
The musical adaptation of the film ended its Broadway run last month, and a touring production continues throughout North America.

Back To The Future Film Franchise At The Worldwide Box Office(Photo Credit – Prime Video)
Time travel is a fascinating subject, and people love to watch movies and shows about it. When we talk about time travel, the first film that pops into our minds is Back to the Future. There are three films in the franchise, and the Og film is considered a classic by cinephiles. Recently, the film’s screenwriter, Bob Gale, addressed the possibility of a fourth film. Before learning of that, let’s check out the trilogy at the worldwide box office.
The sci-fi franchise was created by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale. It follows the adventures of a high school student and an eccentric scientist as they use a DeLorean time machine to travel to different time periods in the history of the fictional town of Hill Valley, California.

John Erwin, the reclusive actor who provided the voices for the heroic title character in He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and the vain frenemy Reggie Mantle in a series of Archie cartoons, has died. He was 88.
Erwin died of natural causes “around Dec. 20” in his home in Camarillo, California, his reps at the PR firm Celebworx announced.
For nearly a decade starting in 1969, Erwin was heard in dozens of TV commercials as the snarky Morris the Cat, the finicky orange tabby who would eat nothing but the 9Lives brand of cat food. The hugely successful campaign was created by the Leo Burnett advertising firm.
Earlier, Erwin was seen on camera when he recurred as the cattle driver Teddy on CBS’ Rawhide, starring Clint Eastwood.

Making a film often has the objective of showing it to people, but what if you make a movie that no one alive today is ever going to get to see? Whatever it may be, it’s still a banger of a marketing campaign, as was the case with 100 Years, a film made to promote Louis Xiii, a cognac that takes a century to make as well.

To many, he will always be Frodo Baggins, the brave little furry-footed hobbit who volunteers to bear the burden of carrying the dreaded One Ring as he leaves his bucolic existence behind while sacrificing himself to save Middle-earth in “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy.

The original ideas for Back To The Future Part II's script had the potential to fix what many critics considered to be the sequel's biggest problem. The second installment in one of the consistently best movie trilogies from start to finish, Back To The Future Part II depicts Marty McFly and Doc Brown traveling to the year 2015, where their DeLorean time machine is stolen by their nemesis, Biff Tannen. Upon discovering that Tannen plans to cause trouble with the help of a stolen sports almanac, Marty and Doc must return to the year 1955 to save the future.
While now considered one of the best sequels ever made, reviews for Back To The Future Part II were significantly mixed compared to the first movie; the sequel's score on Rotten Tomatoes sits at 64%, lower than the original's 90%. Part II received criticism for its darker themes compared to the original and screenplay.

As one of the most beloved movie trilogies of all time, Back to the Future has no shortage of iconic scenes. High school student Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Doctor Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd) are one of the most well-known duos in cinematic history as they travel to the past and future via a DeLorean time machine. Back to the Future's various timelines spanning from 1885 to 2015 allow the story to continue for three movies and keep the trilogy engaging.
The movies' iconic nature is largely grounded in Back to the Future's best quotes, ranging from Doc Brown's "Great Scott!" to Marty saying, "Nobody calls me chicken!" Many of the quotes and scenes from the first Back to the Future movie made such a strong impact that they are repeated, albeit in different ways, during the second and third films. The reason why Back to the Future Part II is so dark is because one of the original Back to the Future cast members refused to reprise his role in the sequel. Back to the Future Part II follows on from the cliffhanger ending of the first Back to the Future, as Doc Brown takes Marty McFly into the future to prevent his son from making a huge mistake. The plot takes a grim turn when Doc and Marty return to a dystopian alternate version of the present.
This dark turn fit in with a trend of sequels going darker than their predecessor. The trend originated with The Empire Strikes Back and could later be seen in movies like The Dark Knight and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Critics and audiences don't always see eye-to-eye, and there are plenty of great sci-fi movies that fans love despite their poor reviews. There are several metrics that can be used to measure how people respond to a movie, and these statistics often highlight the movies that create a rift between critics and fans. Audiences are generally more appreciative of sheer entertainment value, while critics place more emphasis on character and original storytelling.
Sci-fi movies vary wildly between artistic high-concept dramas and big-budget blockbusters. Many of the highest-grossing movies of all time are sci-fi movies, which shows the genre's potential to appeal to massive audiences. However, there are plenty of sci-fi movies which try to appeal to audiences at the cost of turning critics away. Most of the time, box office success is more valuable than critical acclaim.

The Back to the Future trilogy is one of the most beloved franchises in film history, known for its inventive storytelling, unforgettable characters, and time-traveling adventures. It's safe to say Back To The Future wasn't only a great movie, but the launching pad to an iconic trilogy praised for its interconnecting stories of set-ups and payoffs. However, when the first film was released in 1985, a sequel wasn’t part of the plan. The filmmakers crafted a satisfying ending with a thrilling cliffhanger, where Doc Brown returns from the future to whisk Marty and his girlfriend, Jennifer, off in the flying DeLorean.
This decision created a significant challenge when Back to the Future Part II went into production. Director Robert Zemeckis wasn’t thinking ahead to more Back to the Future movies, and had he known one was on the horizon, he would have written the ending differently. Little do fans know that Elijah Wood made his debut in a small part in Michael J. Fox’s Back to the Future Part II. He was just eight at the time and went on to star alongside some major names like Richard Gere and Bruce Willis as a child artist. He gained international fame when he was cast as the lead, Frodo Baggins, in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The Back to the Future franchise was a smash hit, but the story never progressed beyond Back to the Future Part III. Of course, many would have been thrilled if Back to the Future 4 had become a reality. These movies are cult classics, and the fact that Marty McFly's story revolves around time travel makes a sequel possible in just about any decade. According to Back to the Future creators Rober Zemeckis and Bob Gale, Universal has continued to poke and prod them for another movie to continue the story. However, Back to the Future 4 has yet to happen.

Though it's well-known as a family movie, Back to the Future Part II has some jokes that aren't safe for work, and one can only be seen by pausing at exactly the right moment. While there were some things Back to the Future Part II got right about 2015, not all of its predictions were right. From self-lacing sneakers to flying cars, there were a few wild predictions about the future in one of the best Back to the Future movies. One such prediction was only in a few seconds of the film, and finding it means finding a dirty joke that wasn't intended for young audiences.

Although the wait between the first and second Back to the Future movies was torturous for some, fans didn't have to wait long for Back to the Future Part III (and for good reason). The popular, acclaimed franchise, created by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, follows Michael J. Fox's Marty McFly and Christopher Lloyd's Doc Brown, an unlikely time-traveling duo. Over the course of the three movies, Marty and Doc find themselves in various precarious situations, whether in the past, present, or future. In Back to the Future Part III, Marty and Doc travel to 1885.
Following the ending of Back to the Future Part II, Back to the Future Part III picks up right where the previous movie left off with Marty working to save Doc, who gets trapped in 1885. However, once he gets there, Marty realizes returning home with Doc will be more complicated than previously thought.

Back to the Future Part II includes an appearance by the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, but it isn't actually him in the film. Considered one of the best sci-movies of all time, Back to the Future is still as relevant and beloved today as it was when the first movie was released in 1985. The second installment in the Back to the Future franchise was well-received by both audiences and critics, delivering on the difficult mission of following up an instant classic.

Back to the Future Part II takes the franchise ahead to 2015, and although the movie didn't predict the future with complete accuracy, there was a specific piece of foreshadowing that came eerily close. The first Back to the Future sequel actually got several things right about 2015, despite being released in 1989. However, there is one piece of the movie's lore that resonated particularly well with viewers, and the prediction was pretty much fulfilled in the real world in 2002.

The opening of Back to the Future Part II pays homage to its predecessor in the most unexpected way — by recreating the final scene of the original movie, but with a subtle and funny twist. The sequel picks up right where the first movie ends: with Christopher Lloyd's Doc Brown reappearing in the DeLorean.
In both the original final scene and the reshot opening, Doc convinces Marty and his girlfriend, Jennifer, to return to the future in order to help their children. However, reshooting the Back to the Future ending for Part II wasn't just a practical choice for continuity and reminding audiences what happened before; it was one that carved out an indelible comedic touch to open the sequel.

Threequels can be hit-and-miss, but the best ones build on the two movies that came before them with their own original ideas. Sequels are already notoriously difficult, so a second sequel can be a step too far for many franchises. Alien 3, Batman Forever and Home Alone 3 are just a few examples of terrible threequels that followed two great movies. Fortunately, not all franchises follow this trend.
A great threequel can often be the perfect finale to a trilogy. Some of the best trilogies of all time are only held in such high esteem because they end their stories with such aplomb, like The Lord of the Rings, the original Star Wars trilogy and Back to the Future. In other cases, a threequel can set a franchise up for a long and successful run. While episodic franchises like James Bond or the Dollars trilogy have great third movies, these...

Studios have circled Thanksgiving in red on their calendars for years now, saving some of their biggest releases to take advantage of the long weekend. While many may be busy planning their menus, figuring out travel schedules, or bracing for that one relative’s questionable opinions, there’s another part of the holiday tradition we can’t ignore, movies.

Marty McFly never tells his parents he traveled through time to bring them together in Back to the Future, but George had more than enough clues to piece it together. When Marty goes back in time and unwittingly bumps into his parents, he doesnt tell them hes their son from the future. Lorraine assumes his name is Calvin Klein, because its written in his underwear, and he just rolls with it. He pretended Doc Brown was his Uncle Doc and he made sure his parents fell in love without revealing he came from the future.
But Marty didnt do a flawless job of hiding his tracks. He may not have outright said that he came from the future, but he did use some of his knowledge of the future to ensure that George would ask Lorraine to the school dance. When that stuff came to pass in the years that followed,...

Image Source: Universal Pictures Home Entertainment This year, we celebrate the 35th anniversary of Back to the Future Part II, a film that continues to amaze both longtime fans and new audiences alike. While some initially viewed the sequel with mixed opinions, it has since earned its place as a beloved installment in the franchise. Older fans are now revisiting it with fresh appreciation, while a new generation is discovering the film’s daring vision and iconic story. Back in 1989, creating the futuristic world of 2015 and scenes where characters meet their past and future selves was no small feat. With CGI still in its infancy, director Robert Zemeckis turned to groundbreaking practical effects. One standout moment featured Michael J. Fox playing multiple members of the McFly family seated at the same kitchen table. This scene required meticulous planning and execution, showcasing Zemeckis’s expertise and creativity as a director. Product placement is a prevalent aspect of filmmaking. Sometimes, it's hilariously terrible (like the way most Michael Bay movies handle it), but at other times it's seamlessly integrated into the rest of the film. Still, there is a difference between product placement being used to populate a cinematic world with recognizable brands and when it's a mandate from above — whether it's to alleviate the budget or because the studio behind a movie is owned by a conglomerate that makes sodas.
Such was the case when, in 1982, Coca-Cola acquired Columbia Pictures for three-quarters of a billion dollars. This, in turn, gave rise to an era of blatant product placement, whether it was E.T. eating a bunch of Reese's Pieces or "Back to the Future Part II" featuring so much Pepsi product placement that it was literally a part of the plot.

Have you ever wondered why, in the year 2024, we don’t have flying cars or instant teleportation the way some of our favorite movies and TV shows predicted we would? We look at entertainment from the 70’’s and 80’s and see fantastical inventions plastered on our screens of a future that never actually ever happened. Granted, who would want to live in the bleak futures of a Mad Max or Blade Runner but I’d gladly slide my small Pizza Hut pizza into a hydrator and have it come out a fully cooked delicious meal in seconds the way they did in Back To The Future Part II, which if you think about it: the future of Back To The Future Part II now takes place in our past!
For our newest series, we wanted to take a look at movies of the past and see how they predicted the future.

The cult classic miniseries Over the Garden Wall has an incredible story that was brought to life by the performances of its star-studded vocal cast. Over the Garden Wall is a fan-favorite autumn miniseries, and it's still popular years after it debuted. In fact, Over the Garden Wall got a 10th anniversary short, and fans of the miniseries still debate the true meaning of Over the Garden Wall's story and its symbolism a decade later. Over the Garden Wall is often considered perfect for Halloween because of its impressive and cozy animation and its lovable characters, among many other things.
Without its talented vocal cast, however, Over the Garden Wall's characters and story wouldn't have been nearly as timeless. An iconic item from the Back to the Future franchise has been sold at an auction for nearly $100,000. The franchise kicked off in 1985 with the movie of the same name, which starred Christopher Lloyd as mad scientist Doc Brown and Michael J. Fox as his teenage helper. The movie, which was directed by Robert Zemeckis, follows the duo accidentally being trapped in the 1950s, where, in addition to finding a way home, Marty must encourage his parents to fall in love to prevent himself from vanishing out of existence.
The movie was a smash hit, grossing $388.8 million against its $19 million budget and spawning a full Back to the Future trilogy. The 1989 sequel Back to the Future Part II saw the duo travel forward in time to 2015 before returning to the 1950s to correct a cataclysmic mistake. That was followed by 1990's Back to the Future Part III, which took place...

Director Robert Zemeckis is used to conjuring the impossible.
In “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” he had flesh-and-blood actors like Bob Hoskins convincingly interact with animated characters; with “Forrest Gump” he had the title character (essayed by Tom Hanks) meet famous historical figures; “What Lies Beneath” imagined what would happen if Alfred Hitchcock had access to cutting-edge visual effects. He made three entire movies exclusively using performance capture technology. And on and on and on.
His latest film “Here,” which is now playing in theaters, offered a different sort of challenge – the entire movie is told from a fixed vantagepoint, through various eras. The camera never moves. It begins in prehistoric times, eventually settling into a handful of suburban living rooms throughout the years. The one we chiefly focus on is the home of Hanks and Robin Wright, both “Forrest Gump” alums, who begin in the 1960s and travel through modern day.

Robert Zemeckis, the director and co-creator of Back to the Future, is shutting down the idea of remaking or creating a sequel to the franchise.
In a new interview, the filmmaker revealed that he would only revisit the world he co-created with Bob Gale if he created a movie musical.
“You know, we have to say, ‘There are different things that might work.’ Something like that, you know? But to remake the movie or to suggest that there’s a Back to the Future 4, it just isn’t in the cards,” Zemeckis said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
Zemeckis said Universal has asked him if he was open to revisiting the Back to the Future universe, joking that the studio does it “every six months.”
“I would like to do Back to the Future: The Musical,” Zemeckis said. “Just like [Mel Brooks] did with The Producers. I would love to do that.

A character besides Marty McFly played by Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future Part III was actually teased by a subtle line in the first movie. Given the ever-changing timelines of the Back to the Future trilogy, each film had the opportunity to play around with its older, younger, and alternate versions of its main characters. This led to several actors playing multiple roles in Back to the Future, including main cast members like Fox, Lea Thompson, and Thomas F. Wilson.
Aside from some obvious Back to the Future recastings, the actors in each installment remained the same across the trilogy. This allowed the series to feel connected and thoroughly planned out in a way many modern trilogies do not. Michael J. Fox was a big factor in this. Fox - who recently insisted the story of Back to the Future 4 should not happen - played Marty across...

Though having tackled time-travel adventures and classic fantasy stories, Robert Zemeckis says that Here is probably the most difficult movie he's ever made. The cast of Here reunites Zemeckis with Forrest Gump stars Tom Hanks and Robin Wright, while also starring Paul Bettany and Kelly Reilly. Based on Richard McGuire's graphic novel of the same name, the movie is set in only one room in a home, and follows several families who occupy the house over the course of a century. In addition to the limitations that filming in only one room provides, the story of Here also required Hanks and Wright to be de-aged.
In an interview with Variety, Zemeckis delved into why Here was such a challenging movie to make, stating that the film would have been impossible to make five years ago due to the technical challenges they faced. The director explained what it was like...

The Back to the Future franchise jumps between the past, present, and future, meaning several actors appear in multiple roles, sometimes separated by hundreds of years. Ranking the Back to the Future movies is admittedly difficult, as the three installments are collectively considered one of the best trilogies in film history. The reason for this is the heartfelt yet equally hilarious stories at the center of each movie, set against the unique and exciting backdrop of Back to the Future's various timelines.
Thanks to each timeline introduced throughout the trilogy, several hidden story clues in Back to the Future can be found. From references to the past, future, and Marty McFly's present, there are Easter eggs aplenty as the time travel-centric stories play out. Some of the more humorous references to past or future timelines in the films include the actors who play multiple roles. With the story...

As far as classic trilogies go, Back to the Future has to rank at the top of the pantheon. Yet, it’s always felt as if their third film, Back to the Future: Part III, which features Michael J. Fox’s Marty McFly going back in time to rescue Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) from the old west, always went a little underappreciated by fans. Why?
Truth be told, as good as the two sequels are, neither quite manages to outshine the 1985 original, which ranks as perhaps the most impeccably crafted blockbuster of all time. For his follow-ups, Robert Zemeckis was ahead of his time in that he shot both movies back to back as one giant film, allowing him to release them six months apart, at Christmas of 1989 and the Summer of 1990. In fact, Back to the Future: Part II ended with a trailer for the third film.

A throwaway line that Doc Brown says to Marty McFly when he shows him the DeLorean in the first Back to the Future movie slyly foreshadowed the almanac storyline for the sequel. Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gales Back to the Future script is a masterclass in plant-and-payoff; almost everything in the movie is a setup that builds to a payoff later on. Lorraine telling her kids how she fell in love with George ends up being key to Martys plan to ensure they get together when he goes back in time to 1955 and starts being erased from existence.

Christopher Lloyd and Back to the Future's iconic DeLorean car have reunited in a new video. Lloyd first played Dr. Emmett Brown, usually referred to as Doc Brown, in Back to the Future. He later reprised the role in Back to the Future Part II and Back to the Future Part III. While Doc Brown had many inventions, his most famous was the DeLorean car which served as a time machine used by him and Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) as they traveled into the past and the future.

Deadpool And Wolverine gave cinema a massive live action hit just when it needed it. But now what? A few thoughts on Marvel’s huge movie success.
Spoilers lie ahead for Deadpool and Wolverine, and Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
We’re now in the gap between Deadpool And Wolverine’s run in cinemas and its home formats roll-out in October, as announced last week. I wanted this piece to not be a piece of clickbait, or to be the party pooper for a film where I’m clearly in the minority. In fact, I’m starting this article already from a position where 90% of people will disagree with me, and I get it. I remember being obsessed when I was young with Back To The Future Part II, when critical types were telling me it was a mess. Didn’t stop me enjoying it then, doesn’t stop me enjoying it now.

Children of the 1980s understand how deeply weird it is that Donald Trump is now considered a politician. 40 years ago, Trump was a clownish pop culture figure more than anything. He was often described as a real estate mogul in the press, but he was more often parodied on sitcoms and in comic strips as the world's worst millionaire, a caricature of a pseudo-celebrity, and the central symbol of Ronald Reagan's aggressively wicked yuppie class. He was a whimsical punchline more than he was a respected businessman and his financial failures were just as notorious as his successes. I personally recall a joke from Mad Magazine that said Trump was working on a book about his personal success ... but that he was stuck on Chapter 11.

The Back to the Future franchise has been successful in more ways than one. On top of breaking records and shocking audiences in the direction that the science-fiction genre can go, the film was also massive when it came to cultural significance. The first film was single-handedly able to completely change the way the genre would go in the future.

However, the rest of the films weren’t far behind. The second film, for example, ended up being responsible for quite a big shift in another classic fantasy series. During an interview, the director of Godzilla vs. Biollante, Kazuki Omori, revealed how the film ended up influencing the Godzilla franchise.
Back to the Future Was Ahead of Its Times?
One of the most oversaturated tropes in the science-fiction genre has to be the time travel trope.

Some actors don’t want their movies tampered with, while others welcome sequels and remakes. Christopher Lloyd revealed his thoughts on a potential new Back to the Future film. He also discussed how Doc Brown stacks up to his other famous roles.
Christopher Lloyd said a new ‘Back to the Future’ could be ‘brilliant’
The Back to the Future films each have a different flavor. The original movie showed us the 1950s, Back to the Future Part II showed us a futuristic 2015, and Back to the Future Part III was set in the Old West in 1885. While the films told different stories, they all relied on the charisma of Loyd’s Doc Brown to engage audiences. A Back to the Future movie without him would be a big adjustment for fans, many of whom see the Back to the Future trilogy as an integral part of their childhoods.

Look, we're well aware that most movies and TV shows are fake. But that doesn't keep us from wanting to bring the universes that we love on the big screen and the flickering box into the real world. Even though we can't have lightsabers or Iron Man suits as depicted in motion pictures and TV series, there are some cool props inspired by Hollywood productions that we can bring home. Personally, I love when they're more innocuous items, such as a real Turbo Man action figure from "Jingle All the Way" or a Pepsi Perfect from "Back to the Future Part II." So I'm happy to report that a deep cut prop from the original "Alien" is now available for fans to get their hands on.

To mark its 35th birthday, Back To The Future Part II will be flying back into UK cinemas this coming October: more on the re-release here.
In the latest example of news stories to make a certain segment of our audience – er, including me – feel old, Back To The Future Part II is being lined up for a UK cinema re-release this October.
It’s going to be appearing on Monday 21st October 2024, to celebrate what’s being anointed as Back To The Future Day. And – yikes – it’s also to celebrate the fact that the movie is about to celebrate its 35th birthday.
35 years. We’re as far away from the film’s original release as Zulu, A Fistful Of Dollars and Dr Strangelove are in the opposite direction.

This post contains spoilers for "Deadpool & Wolverine."
As the actor and creative force behind the Deadpool movies, actor and co-screenwriter Ryan Reynolds arguably knows the character better than anyone at this point, but before Hugh Jackman joined the cast of what would eventually become "Deadpool & Wolverine," Reynolds and director Shawn Levy were scrambling to find an idea worthy of a third "Deadpool" film. Without Wolverine as a key player, what story were they going to tell instead?
Reynolds has previously revealed that a very early incarnation of the film would have been a "Rashomon style" road trip movie featuring Deadpool and Wolverine. But when Disney bought Fox, things got complicated and that idea fell by the wayside ... well, most of it, anyway. Earlier this year, Reynolds shared that he came up with many different treatments for what the movie could be, and one of them was "almost like a Sundance film,...

When Kevin Feige last took the stage at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022, the thousands of attendees at Hall H greeted the studio executive — currently the chief creative officer of Marvel and president of Marvel Studios — with the same eruption of deafening cheers they’ve used to welcome Tony Stark or Steve Rogers. After the roar of the crowd finally died down, one fan even repurposed an indelible line from 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame” to scream at Feige, “We love you 3,000!”
In the history of the film business, you can count on one hand the number of studio executives who have elicited this kind of rock star adulation — and it’s easy to understand why fans feel the way they do. Starting with 2008’s “Iron Man” and “The Incredible Hulk,” Feige’s vision to bring the interconnected storytelling of Marvel comics into live-action filmmaking with the Marvel Cinematic Universe has employed dozens of directors and writers,...

Will Beall's early Justice League script was influenced by Back to the Future Part II. James Gunn's Dcu may not prioritize a new Justice League film initially. Several solo projects and spin-offs are in development for Dcu, including Superman and Supergirl movies.
A former Justice League movie writer reveals an influence for his early version of the script for the big Dceu film. James Gunn's upcoming DC Universe is set to debut on screens this year, with the new franchise to officially replace the Dceu movie timeline. As the Dceu came to an end in 2023, it marked the conclusion of a complicated superhero journey for Warner Bros. Discovery, following numerous regime changes and creative differences over many projects.
Various creatives were involved with the initial Justice League script. One of them was Will Beall, who ended up working on Aquaman, while also having been attached to Justice League.

The Back to the Future franchise is filled with memorable lines from its eccentric cast, especially protagonist Marty McFly. The archetypal "radical" teenage boy, Marty McFly is the plucky hero of the franchise, joining Doc Brown on his adventures through time across the three Back to the Future movies. Along the way, McFly has let off some iconic one-liners and prescient bits of dialogue that sum up his character and the series as a whole very succinctly.

Back to the Future trilogy returns to Netflix, maintaining high quality throughout. The first movie stands out as the best in the franchise, with Michael J. Fox's performance praised. Different timelines and iconic aspects keep the movies fresh, making it a beloved trilogy.
One of the greatest film trilogies of all time, the Back to the Future trilogy, has returned to Netflix and I couldn't be more excited about it. The trilogy is an oft-used format for a film series, having graced both mainstream franchises like The Planet of the Apes and Spider-Man, as well as arthouse films such as Richard Linklaters Before trilogy or the Three Colors films. Tracing characters over a three-film arc is often a great way to devote time to a story without a franchise overstaying its welcome.

Michael J. Fox emanates Back to the Future vibes as he performs alongside Chris Martin at a Coldplay concert. Fox is best known for playing Marty McFly in the 1985 film Back to the Future. Also starring Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompon, and Crispin Glover, the Robert Zemeckis-directed feature remains one of the most beloved films of its decade. It spawned two sequels, with Back to the Future Part II in 1989 and Back to the Future Part III in 1990.

July 2024 is going to be a bustling month on Netflix, with over 50 movies scheduled to hit the streamer's library in the United States. As ever when it comes to Netflix, the incoming titles will generally skew mainstream and recent, but they still cover a wide array of genres and countries -- and sci-fi fans will find plenty of good stuff to dig into in that new batch.
The selection of science fiction titles coming to Netflix this July (not counting new originals) will include seven total movies, with six of those movies hailing from two enormously popular trilogies that are set to be made available in full on the service. The seventh one, meanwhile, is a sequel to a popular animated film that Netflix currently doesn't have. But as frustrating as that impracticality is always wont to be, the sequel in question is fun and self-contained enough to be enjoyed on its own.

Kevin Costner co-writes, directs and stars in Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1. Here’s our review of the new western.
You’ll probably find a more reliable review of Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 out there if we’re being blunt here. This is my Marvel. Kevin Costner’s never been involved in a western I’ve not liked, and many of them I outright love. His return to the saddle – not least to the director’s chair too, for the first time since the superb Open Range (2003) – has famously come about because he had to pay for it himself. And when you’re paying the bill, you can do things you want you want to.
Which is what Kevin Costner has done, signing off every last shot, with not a Hollywood executive sitting on his shoulder.

Back to the Future II accurately predicted technology like smartwatches, video calling, and digital currency we use today. Biometric security scanners at the McFly home in 2015 were a real prediction by the film, commonly used in various places. The film foresaw personalized advertising and non-military drones in 2015, showing the accuracy of its futuristic predictions.
Set partly in 2015, the 1989 movie Back to the Future Part II made many predictions about life in the future, and some of them were fairly accurate. The opening of BTTF2 picks up on the cliffhanger ending, in which Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) returns to 1985, telling Marty McFly (Michael J Fox) that they have to do something about his kids. Successfully pretending to be his younger son to keep Marty McFly Jr. out of prison, things go from bad to worse when an elderly Biff Tannen (Thomas F.
