Matt Dillon and Gene Hackman got along extremely well during the filming of the film despite their huge age difference. Dillon called Hackman "caring and diplomatic"
Many critics heavily criticized the film due to the fact that Gayle Hunnicutt's character literally disappears from the film almost completely. Many stated that there should've been a picture or some type of flashback to tie into the plot to show why she was kidnapped and who was behind the plot.
