After Palmer escapes from his cell, he goes down some stairs and out a door; in the next shot he's running and in the background is obvious daylight. He then jumps over a fence and it's night time.
When Harry Palmer returns to his apartment to find the dead CIA agent sprawled on his living room floor, the dead man's mouth is open. When the camera cuts from Palmer back to the dead man, the dead man's mouth is now closed.
Palmer scratches marks on the wall next to his bed to keep a record of how long he has been there, but these marks are not seen on the wall when the doctor or the guards enter the cell.
At the beginning of the film the car turns into the railway station and from the drivers view there is a saloon car and a VW van parked by the entrance. Immediately upon entering the station and now looking rearward from inside the car the two previous vehicles have been replaced by a large green van.
When Palmer first drives his car it is raining and the windscreen wipers are on. When he stops to pull into the parking space, the sound of the windscreen wipers is heard but there is no sign of them on the right hand side of the windscreen.
When Harry Palmer is imprisoned in a cell, on two occasions, as he leans up in the bed, his left arm touches the "solid" brick scenery wall causing it to move, showing that it is not solid.
When Harry makes his coffee in a French press during the opening credits, he pours in the hot water and immediately pushes the plunger without waiting the standard three or four minutes. His coffee would be so weak that he couldn't possibly wake up.
Palmer chooses the larger of the two sizes of cans of 'champignons' from the shelf in the supermarket and puts it in his shopping cart. However, later when he is cooking for Courtney, she picks up the can and it is now one of the smaller ones.
The wall clock in the reception room of the Dalby Recruitment office shows a time of 10 minutes to 11 the first time it is seen, but the hour hand is pointing slightly after the 11 rather than just before it. This reveals that it is a fake clock with the hands having been set manually and slightly off.
When Palmer leaves Courtney's flat to catch a train to Paris, he says "See you", but his mouth clearly forms the word "Bye".
During the screening of the black and white film to the team, it is stated that what they are seeing is a recent sighting of 'Bluejay' and 'Housemartin' in Vienna. It is, in fact, on Blomfield road (going south), Little Venice, West London. Both of the trees in the background are still there.
When Bluejay (Frank Gatliff) and Housemartin (Oliver MacGreevy) are seen walking up the steps at the back of the Royal Albert Hall to get to their car, they are supposed to have left the Science Museum Library, but the building they leave is part of the Royal College of Music.
Courtney compliments Palmer's cooking skills as he uses one hand to break eggs into a bowl by saying, "You are very professional". However, he also drops a large piece of eggshell into the bowl (and does not appear to retrieve it); this is something a competent cook would not do.
