Ben and Mike find themselves in a storm shelter during a cyclone. They share the space with a gambler, a saloon girl, a man dying from a gunshot wound, and, unknown to them, the man who shot him.
Mike Dunbar discovers evidence that would free a convicted killer awaiting execution. The telegraph key in Wichita is malfunctioning, however, and Mike frets that it won't be repaired in time to send word to Salinas before the execution takes place.
