Days of our Lives spoilers for Friday, November 27, show waves of grief radiating through Salem as the entire community deals with Doug Williams’s passing.
The Man I Love
Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Doug (Bill Hayes) have been through all the soap opera supercouple things together. They both have checkered pasts. They’ve both been presumed dead. They’ve cheated on each other, had children with other people, broken up over silly pride and misunderstandings, and sung many, many show tunes.
If we’re lucky, we’ll get to see Julie relive all of those memorable moments via flashbacks. But, even if we don’t see it all, we will know Julie is mourning every single one of them.
More: Find out what happens next week on Days.
From Generation to Generation
Doug’s daughter, Hope (Kristian Alfonso), is also Julie’s half-sister, so there is a lot of grief to go around.

There’s been a lot of talk lately about how the studios have lost interest in physical media, with Disney outsourcing its discs to Sony and questions over where the business is going in the wake of Redbox’s demise and Best Buy’s decision to stop selling Blu-rays and DVDs. Yet not only have the rumors of physical media’s death been greatly exaggerated as boutique labels step in to pick up the slack, but even at the studio level, praiseworthy efforts to showcase archival treasures are alive and well. Take, for example, the new Warner Archive Blu-ray of Raoul Walsh’s 1946 classic “The Man I Love.”
“The Man I Love” is a film beloved by cinephiles but hardly famous — among Warners’ 1940s releases, it’s a long way down from “Casablanca” and “The Maltese Falcon” when it comes to widespread popularity. It’s the kind of movie that...

Happy Birthday, Ira Gershwin A lyricist, Gershwin collaborated with his younger brother, composer George Gershwin, to create some of the most memorable songs of the 20th century. With George he wrote more than a dozen Broadway shows, featuring songs such as 'I Got Rhythm', 'Embraceable You', 'The Man I Love' and 'Someone to Watch Over Me'. He was also responsible, along with DuBose Heyward, for the libretto to George's opera Porgy and Bess. The success the brothers had with their collaborative works has often overshadowed the creative role that Ira played. However, his mastery of songwriting continued after the early death of George. He wrote additional hit songs with composers Jerome Kern 'Long Ago and Far Away', Kurt Weill and Harold Arlen.

We open this week's episode on Klaus doing some bizarre Diy at the Fixer-Upper. I have no idea what he's supposed to be doing. Painting over wallpaper? Some kind of crackle finish? I need Hildi Santo-Tomas, stat!
Fauxbekah walks in and Klaus asks what took so long. She claims that it took longer than she expected to get Pric to give up the last White Oak Junior stake. She hands it over and Klaus tosses it on the fire. Klaus tells her to pack her bags; they're grabbing Elena and leaving that night.
A flustered Fauxbekah says they can't leave before the 1920s-themed “Decade Dance” at the high school. Klaus cares nothing for any dance and claims he cares less than nothing that Caroline will be there. Liar. Fauxbekah bats her lashes and asks pwetty pwease and Klaus accedes. “One last hurrah.”
Over at the Salvatore place, Damon is on the phone to Alaric.
