The Dadchelor (2024)
Returning writing team provides similar comedy, just in a different location.

The Dadchelor is a new comedy directed, partly written and produced by Jon Karthaus, director of Bon Bini Holland 2 and Costa!!

Mark (Steef de Bot) is soon to become a father and has therefore been taken to Italy by his friends to celebrate this. Mark does not know that his wife Pien (Jennifer Hoffman) only finds him boring and is about to end their relationship.

In Italy, Mark and his friends only unintentionally come into contact with the Italian underworld. For example, new things are asked of Mark, which he would otherwise never have done. If Mark does these things wrong, his own life or that of one of his friends could be in danger.

With this film, the director and writer reunites with another writer, with whom he previously worked on, for example, the film Fijn Weekend from last year. This film does have a familiar style and atmosphere, only this time in Italy instead of France. The comedy level also remains in a familiar, predictable style. Other comedy remains more far-fetched and often does not work credibly. At times, the film seems like a live-action cartoon.

The actors who play the friends also work well as friends in a cartoonish way, but often don't come across as credible or really funny because of this kind of action. The best comedy comes from Jennifer Hoffman, but unfortunately she is not in the film much.
