Thomas Paine, a famous name but unfortunately used by an untalented pornographer, thought to cash in on the enduring fame of Bernardo Bertolucci's controversial film, but this Adam & Eve release is extremely disappointing.

Like many a viewer, Paine focuses almost exclusively on the "two strangers having sex in the empty apartment" jumping off point of the classic. He does stage an invigorating scene of Alexandra Silk and John Decker having this anonymous sex, thrown together accidentally due to a real estate mix-up at an unfurnished apartment. But where to go from there?

The short feature has Silk returning home to hubby Michael J. Cox, and then having something of a mid-life crisis, determined to find the mystery man again. She ultimately does and has a three-way with guest star Asia Carerra.

Not bad, but other than a wife swapping orgy mid-film that brings in needed reinforcements like Peter North and Alex Sanders, this video plays like an outline for a feature not a fully-realized picture. In our land of ripoff artists, bad intentions are not enough: even if your values are inverted some follow-through is still required to come up with something rather than the usual nothing.
