Gladys Hill(1916-1981)

Co-writer of John Huston's screenplay for "The Man Who Would be King," as well as being the director's long-time assistant. It was jokingly said of her that, during her long employment with Huston, she had done every kind of job "except that of mistress". It was Huston who found her dead body after she had succumbed to a fatal heart attack. He described her as his "closest woman friend" and was devastated by this sudden demise.
