Actors from Broadway’s Newsies, Suffs, and other stage productions are doing their part to encourage people to vote. The actors released a video featuring a medley of remixed Newsies tracks, including renditions of “Carrying the Banner” and “Seize the Day” reframed for the 2024 election.
Similar to the Broadway Newsies production, based on the 1992 Disney film of the same name, the remix video begins with newsboy Jack Kelly rallying an army of townspeople to participate in the next election. “Running your mouth don’t change nothing, spot,” Jack said in the video.

After premiering as “Pll: Original Sin” in July 2022, the series rebranded as “Pll: Summer School” for this past May’s second season. Max confirmed the cancellation on Friday.
“While Max will not be moving forward with a third season of ‘Pretty Little Liars,’ we are so grateful to our co-creators, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring, as well as the team at Warner Bros. Television, for reintroducing fans to this new iteration of liars who band together to fight the latest creepy villain terrifying Millwood,” the HBO streamer shared in a statement. “Their unique and modern creative vision — combined with the immense talent of our cast and crew — gave the series a fun, horror-filled point of view that paid tribute to its original Rosewood roots.”

Note: This story contains spoilers from the “Pretty Little Liars: Summer School” finale.
“Pretty Little Liars” brought out the Final Girl Energy for Thursday’s “Summer School” finale, finally unmasking Bloody Rose while introducing plenty of options for a potential Season 3.
The eight-episode second season featured numerous kills and niche scary movie references, with stars Chandler Kinney, Bailee Madison, Malia Pyles, Maia Reficco and Zaria — as well as honorary sixth Fge member Mallory Bechtel — each getting their own Final Girl moment. But in the Max show’s season finale, all eyes were on resident movie buff Tabby (Kinney) as she ultimately proved her horror film knowledge could help her survive.
The hour contained enough twists and turns to fill the Spooky Spaghetti homepage, but TheWrap has narrowed the episode down to the most iconic can’t-miss moments.

Spoiler alert: The following article contains spoilers from Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 6.
Imogen believes Bloody Rose is her mom, but the lack of a face reveal suggests the teenager might have been hallucinating. The discovery that Davie Adams is the Pretty Little Liars: Summer School villain is likely a fakeout, with Bloody Rose's actual identity being revealed in the next two episodes. The real villain may be connected to Our Mother of Holy Grace, with Martha Beasley as a top suspect.
Bloody Rose puts Imogen through one of her brutal tests in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School episode 6, which ends with the villain's identity seemingly being revealed. But I believe the show may be trying to trick the audience and the person behind the bloody gauze isn't who Bailee Madison's character thinks it is. New characters like Johnny add fresh complications to the summer in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School. Antonio Cipriano charms audiences with warmth and sincerity in his role as Johnny, Imogen's potential love interest. Pretty Little Liars: Summer School maintains slasher and horror elements while introducing a lighter atmosphere than Original Sin.
Warning: Spoilers for Pretty Little Liars: Summer School
Johnny is among the new characters appearing in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School. The new season sees the return of Bailee Madison as Imogen and a handful of other returning characters. However, that doesn't mean it will rely entirely on its existing cast. After all, given the show's horror-thriller genre, how many of the original characters will survive the season is yet to be determined.

Nathan Drake and Lara Croft could be Hollywood’s go-to treasure hunters until someone else comes along because, according to Nicolas Cage, a National Treasure 3 is not happening. Cage played treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates in Disney’s 2004 action-adventure romp, with National Treasure: Book of Secrets mapping a path to theaters in 2007.
Speaking with ScreenRant, Cage said, “No, there is no National Treasure 3. If you want to find treasure, don’t look at Disney, okay? It’s not there.”
Cage’s verbal mousetrap is quite telling of the actor’s tolerance for how Disney conducts its business. Cage’s comment may refer to how Disney fumbled the bag with its sequel series National Treasure: Edge of History. The adventure series starring Lisette Olivera, Zuri Reed, Jake Austin Walker, Antonio Cipriano, and Catherine Zeta-Jones was canceled after one season despite having ties to the Cage-led feature films.

Olivera is joined by Zuri Reed, Antonio Cipriano, Jordan Rodrigues, Jake Austin Walker and Lyndon Smith, while Justin Bartha, who portrayed Riley Poole in the film franchise along Cage, reprised his role as a special guest.”

“Edge of History” was missing the pivotal presence of Cage, but the creators, the Wibberleys, were hoping to bolster many more seasons which would have eventually featured the iconic actor.

“National Treasure: Edge of History” has been canceled at Disney+ after one season, Variety has confirmed.
Based on the “National Treasure” film franchise, Disney’s TV adaptation followed treasure hunter Jess Venezuela. Jacob Vargas, Lisette Olivera, and Jake Austin Walker in Disney+’s ‘National Treasure: Edge of History’ episode 10
The season one finale of Disney+’s National Treasure: Edge of History ties up all the treasure-hunting loose ends while dangling the possibility of where season two could go if the streaming service picks up the drama. Episode 10, “Treasure Protectors,” picks up the action right where episode nine ended, with Agent Hendricks (Armando Riesco) having just stabbed Agent Ross (Lyndon Smith) with a sword. We, the audience, now know he’s Salazar – the man we’ve heard about all season but whose identity has just been revealed.
When Billie (Catherine Zetta-Jones) questions Salazar about why he’s there, Rafael (Jacob Vargas) chimes in and reminds her that Salazar is the one who killed her brother. But, of course, Salazar claims Rafael is a liar.
After loading the boat, they set off to find the treasure.

Jacob Vargas and Lisette Olivera in Disney+’s ‘National Treasure: Edge of History’ episode 9
Episode nine of Disney+’s National Treasure: Edge of History is jam-packed with surprises, so buckle in. The episode kicks off with Jess (Lisette Olivera) and her father, Rafael (Jacob Vargas), being led through a private airport by Billie (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and her team. Rafael has a plan but Jess has one too, of course, and lets him know she has Ethan’s phone.
Before boarding the private plane, Billie reminds them that she heard everything and wants Rafael’s journal. She orders Kacey (Breeda Wool) to search Jess.
Elsewhere, Oren (Antonio Cipriano) is currently freaking out. He and Liam (Jake Austin Walker) went to Agent Ross (Lyndon Smith) and told her about Myles – his grandpa’s old nurse – being murdered. When Agent Ross checks out the scene, Myles’s body is gone and the room’s clean.

Lisette Olivera, Zuri Reed, and Jordan Rodrigues in Disney+’s ‘National Treasure: Edge of History’ episode 8
With just two episodes left in season one of Disney+’s National Treasure: Edge of History, things are really heating up. Episode seven ended with Jess concluding she needs to break her father out of a prison in Mexico. Episode eight picks up with Jess’s dad, Rafael (Jacob Vargas), in for a shock when he sees Billie (Catherine Zeta-Jones) has come to visit him.
Billie accuses him of killing her brother and Rafael denies it, insisting it was Salazar who killed her brother. Billie demands the last relic or else she’s going after Jess. “You’re about to find out how it feels to lose the person you love more than anything else in the world,” warns Billie.
Oren (Antonio Cipriano) desperately tries to talk Jess (Lisette Olivera) out of breaking her father out of prison.

Disney+’s National Treasure: Edge of History episode seven is filled with one shocking twist after another, beginning with a fake tape implicating Jess in Sadusky’s murder. Agent Ross (Lyndon Smith) and her boss, Agent Hendricks (Armando Riesco), seem to believe the recording is real, and Hendricks instructs Ross to get a warrant for Jess’s arrest.
Episode six found Jess (Lisette Olivera) convinced she needed to travel to Mexico to talk to Salazar about the third relic. Disney+’s National Treasure: Edge of History season one episode one, “I’m a Ghost,” introduces the key players in this series spinoff of the popular National Treasure films. But before we meet the new batch of treasure hunters, we pop back in time to 2001.
National Treasure‘s Harvey Keitel reprises his role as Peter Sadusky and is shown recording a message, instructing whoever he’s making it for to only listen to the tape when no one’s around.
Speaking into the recorder, Peter asks if they remember the stories he used to tell them about gold and libraries from Emperor Montezuma’s palaces. We’re treated to a reenactment of a battle that took place in 1519 as Peter describes what went down. Although many people assumed the treasure was a myth, Peter reveals...

“National Treasure: Edge of History” is a treat for the fans of the original Nicholas Cage film series. It’s a bona-fide thriller that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat. The series takes its viewers on quest anyone with love for history to jump on into. But “Edge of History” comes with an added advantage – “It is about a non-white America. It is about an America that is now what it is,” says Mira Nair, an Executive Producer on the show. Speaking exclusively to Et Canada, Nair explains that the show goes beyond quintessential America and its history and blurs boundaries and ethnicities.

The joy of Disney’s “National Treasure” franchise lies in its precise balance of reverence and irreverence. For all the choreographed mayhem, cheeky ahistoricity, and gross mishandling of antiquities, the beloved 2004 film and its 2007 sequel are fundamentally in awe of history, respectful of legacy, and devoted to family.
Despite its sturdy plot mechanics, broad audience appeal and evergreen themes, the “National Treasure” franchise is lacking in currency. Fifteen years have passed since the last entry, a span of years in which the holiday tentpole has evolved, as has Nicolas Cage, who is now more drawn to auteurist grindhouse indies than Jerry Bruckheimer blockbusters. With the increasingly narrow odds of a film to complete a trilogy, the only way to save “National Treasure” from becoming a dusty relic itself was to detonate it and build something new from the ruins.

“You notice things no one else would notice” is a compliment paid more than once to Jess (Lisette Olivera), the heroine of National Treasure: Edge of History. It’s ostensibly what makes her the ideal spiritual successor to Ben Franklin Gates — the protagonist played in the franchise’s two previous big-screen entries by Nicolas Cage, who does not appear here.
In practice, though, it feels more like the show’s way of insisting that Jess is more interesting than the script actually allows her to be, and its excuse for papering over the carelessness of its mysteries. Jess may have an eye for detail, but her Disney+ series has no patience for them — it’s less an intricately crafted puzzle than a jumble of half-broken odds and ends.
