Someone at EA is paying attention to why people play smaller games from independent studios. If big budget triple-a games like “Anthem” are the summer blockbusters of the gaming world, EA has been carefully broadening its horizons with the equivalent of art house films. “Unravel Two,” from Coldwood Interactive, is about nourishing the soul with emotional adventures.

The first “Unravel” captured gamer hearts when it was announced at E3 2015, thanks to an adorable lead character, Yarny. Coldwood created an intriguing juxtaposition between its loveable hero and a story about loss that reflects creative director Martin Sahlin’s own background.

“Battlefield V” Multiplayer Will Have Battle Royale Mode

The upcoming first person shooter “Battlefield V” will have a battle royale mode for multiplayer.

The latest in the “Battlefield” franchise is following in the well-treaded footsteps of “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” and “Fortnite” by adding a mode in which players must survive to be the last one standing.

Bioware’s Casey Hudson and Cathleen Rootsaert gave more details on “Anthem,” while also showing off a new cinematic trailer for the upcoming action title.

Brace those heartstrings, folks; Yarny, the adorable bundle of joy that enthralled much of the industry earlier this year is all but set to appear in Unravel 2, now that EA has extended its development partnership with Coldwood Interactive.

Headed up by Martin Sahlin, the Swedish studio first emerged onto the scene at E3 last year, before eventually releasing Unravel to rave reviews back in February.

In a statement, EA Executive Vice President Patrick Söderlund spoke with excitement about Coldwood’s future under the publisher, though stopped short of clarifying whether the studio’s next project is indeed Unravel 2.

He’s the protagonist of the upcoming platformer from Coldwood Studios, and now the developers of Unravel want to teach you to make your very own Yarny ahead of release. In a new tutorial feature, creator Martin Sahlin is on hand to talk you through how he first designed the lovable little guy who’ll star in the game in February.

The video includes instruction on how to build a Yarny of your own from wire, paper clips and – of course – a bundle of yarn. Sahlin himself makes one from scratch during the video as he talks through the process, but you can also find written instructions for building the charming chap at the Unravel‘s official site.
