Last week on “So You Think You Can Dance” when the Top 8 performed, I feared that contemporary dancer Benjamin Castro and his hip-hop partner Anna Linstruth were going to be in trouble when it was revealed they were doing a Polynesian routine. Such ethnic choreography –including Bollywood and African — doesn’t always feel authentic when done by those who are not familiar with that style.

Sure enough, the pair had to say goodbye by the end of the episode.

But during Top 8 week there was another equally dicey pitfall that was awaiting contemporary contestant Madison Jordan and her ballroom partner Ezra Sosa — namely, disco. This style of choreography not only can it seem dated but also has so many intricate lifts and spins that dancers have been known to be injured and not just by an overdose of sequins.

This episode of Grave Mysteries looks at the murder of Professor Tiffany Maher, a charismatic educator at Northeastern State University Tiffany Maher was a popular professor and was seen as a role model by many of her student. It was all the more shocking therefore, when the 38-year-old was murdered. The police investigation started after her body was found in her Tahlequah home on May 31. For the first time in So You Think You Can Dance history, America has crowned two winners. "I don't know why we've never done it before," judge Nigel Lythgoe told People after Tuesday's ninth-season finale of the Fox dance competition - where both a male and female were declared "America's favorite dancers." "It's really great that they win in their own sexes," said Lythgoe. And so, with the entire top 20 on hand, the season's final four - Cyrus Spencer, Chehon Wespi-Tschopp, Eliana Girard and Tiffany Maher - waited to learn who would take home the titles. It all comes down to this! "So You Think You Can Dance" Season 9 aired its two-hour live finale on Tuesday night -- complete with a Carly Rae Jepsen performance -- and for the first time ever, two winners were crowned. This season was certainly an interesting one, given its new format without a results show, and because of the new rule about having a male and a female winner.

The female winner is Eliana Gerard. A ballet dancer from Florida, 21-year-old Gerard was Nigel Lythgoe's favorite female dancer this season, and she's already been asked to join Desmond Richardson's company after the show. She beat out Jazz dancer Tiffany Maher, also from Florida, to take the cash prize.

The male winner is Chehon Wespi-Tschopp, whose expertise is also ballet. When asked to showcase a specific piece from the season, Chehon chose to revisit his Argentine Tango with Anya.

The So You Think You Can Dance finale is always a bittersweet time. It's a joyous occasion for whoever wins, but...we're always so sad when the season is over! And though the Fox summer hit only aired once a week in its ninth season, the usual magic applied. Plus, now that all has been said and danced, as promised we've got two winners for a change! Which is great, because who could decide between Cyrus Spencer and Eliana Girard, or Chehon Wespi-Tschopp and Tiffany Maher, or Cyrus and Tiffany, or...You get our drift. As we count the minutes until Eliana Girard or Tiffany Maher and Cyrus "Glitch" Spencer or Chehon Wespi-Tschopp are crowned "America's Favorite Dancer" on tonight's season finale of "So You Think You Can Dance," we thought it might be nice to pass the time in style.

And, by style, we mean all kinds of dance styles in all kinds of movies.

Some of our favorite all-stars and other "Sytycd" contestants have landed on the big screen over the years, and we're sure hoping some of the Season 9 gang will soon join them.

Seeing as Season 6 finalist Kathryn McCormick recently starred in the fourth installment of the "Step Up" franchise (alongside Stephen "tWitch" Boss and Phillip Chbeeb, natch), now seemed as good a time as any to take a look at how some of our favorite "Sytycd" stars are blowing up Hollywood. The Top 4 contestants on So You Think You Can Dance have performed for the final time in a bid for this year's top spot. First the good news: "So You Think You Can Dance" has its final four dancers. Tiffany Maher, Eliana Girard, Chehon Wespi-Tschopp and Cyrus Spencer will all vie for America's votes in next Tuesday's (Sept. 11) performance finale.

The bad news: Witney Carson and Cole Horibe were automatically eliminated after receiving the fewest votes.

Even though America decided their fate after last week's performance show, each contestant had to perform three dances tonight: solo, paired with an All-Star and paired with a fellow finalist.

"Up All Night" star Christina Applegate returned as a guest judge -- and poor predictor. "Your foot was terrible in your pirouette," she said about his jazz routine with reigning champ Melanie Moore, "but I don't give a s***, because you're so good. And we'll see you next week."

Tears were streaming during So You Think You Can Dance Wednesday - even before two more dancers were sent home. The night turned emotional early on, when, with his Swiss parents in the audience for the first time, ballet dancer Cheyon Wespi-Tschopp took to the stage for his solo. "You have to remember these dancers are kids who have dreamed of doing this their whole life," guest judge Jesse Tyler Ferguson told People after Wednesday’s show. Perhaps it's his infectious enthusiasm or his clear passion for the show. Whatever it is, "Modern Family" star Jesse Tyler Ferguson keeps getting invited back as a guest judge on "So You Think You Can Dance."

This time, he was on hand to watch yet another powerful performance by all-star Allison Holker. This time, she was partnered with martial arts dancer Cole Horibe, who was asked to portray a sadistic and soulless character.

Cole perfectly captured the character, as he has in previous weeks, bringing the judges to their feet. It wouldn't be their last time on a night filled with strong performances. But it was this one that left Ferguson shaking and in need of a cocktail.

Jesse Tyler Ferguson — “weird and creepy and not a stalker,” he swears — just loves to come back and be a guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance. The So You Think You Can Dance All-Stars returned to dance with the Top 10 contestants Wednesday night — and look who we have here! Season 7 standout Alex Freaking Wong, who exited early because of an Achilles tendon injury and had to sit out last summer, after being invited back as an All-Star, because he’d hurt the Other Achilles tendon. I would guess that Alex Wong’s abs positively loathe his Achilles tendons for denying them their rightful opportunity to glisten on national television whenever possible.

Heading into last night’s Mia Michaels tribute episode of So You Think You Can Dance, I was a little worried the judges would get so caught up in praising new renditions of the choreographer’s seven most memorable routines that their actual critiques would be reduced into something of a “You get a gold star! And you get a gold star! And you get a gold star!” mess.
