BET+ has set premiere dates for its fall slate of films and new and returning TV series.

First on the list is “Love & Murder: Atlanta Playboy,” a film series starring Taye Diggs. Part 1 debuts on Sept. 21 while Part 2 will arrive on the streamer a week later, on Sept. 28. The films follow an investigation into the murder of Lance (Diggs), a successful Atlanta businessman known both for revolutionizing the city’s 911 system and for being a womanizer. The cast also includes Keesha Sharp, Ciera Payton, Apryl Jones, Ernestine Johnson, Nicole Lyn, Robert Brown, Tye White, Anton Peeples, Yung Joc, Karlie Redd and Yandy Smith. Jaira Thomas directs scripts from Gregory R. Anderson. Mona Scott-Young and Eric Tomosunas executive produce, with co-executive producers including Lorisa Bates, Marvin Neil, Stephanie R. Gayle, Abbey MacDonald and Nick Roses and producers including Ron Robinson, Jimmy Watson, Ron Stodghill, Keith Neal, Brian Rikuda and Devin Griffin.

A small mountain lake town is consumed by chaos in the new trailer for Mary C. Russell's The Otherkind!

"Labranche Productions and director Mary C. Russell have released the first-look trailer for The Otherkind, a new film which chronicles a mountain lake town that descends into anarchy as residents start to change. The suspenseful story marks the feature directing debut of Mary C. Russell, whose short films have screened worldwide. Her acclaimed slasher short, Carved, is available on Shudder.

The Otherkind is written and directed by Mary C. Russell. Caroline O'Meara produced and Gary Labranche and Karen Labranche executive produced. I thought I would give myself a break from the dozens of Christmas movies this month and watch a movie I literally knew nothing about except its title. I was pretty sure it wasn’t a Christmas movie and that it was probably a low-budget genre title but this was just guess work.

I would be right though and what I got with The Darkness of the Road was a low budget sci-fi thriller horror blend that is hard to pigeon hole. We initially see a young woman, Siri, and her young daughter on the road seemingly get away from someone or something to get a fresh start somewhere else. They end up stopping at a petrol station and through a couple of incidents pick up another young woman looking to get away...

Comedian Andy Dick was hospitalized this weekend after being attacked outside a New Orleans club, multiple outlets report.

Dick, 53, wrapped a performance at the French Quarter’s One Eyed Jacks on Friday when he and musician Paris Dylan exited the club after posing for photos with fans, Dylan told Nola.com.

As the NewsRadio star made his way into an Uber, Dylan told the outlet that Dick was “sucker punched” by an unknown assailant, and fell to the ground, hitting his head on the pavement.
