Michelle Buteau is thick, single and ready to mingle in a new comedy for Netflix.
On Wednesday, the streamer announced that Survival of the Thickest, based on Buteau’s book of the same name, will premiere on Thursday, July 13. The show was greenlit back in January 2022.

Michelle Visage (“RuPaul’s Drag Race”) and Sarah Cooper (“Sarah Cooper: Everything’s Fine”) are among the new cast members added to comedian Michelle Buteau’s upcoming Netflix series “Survival of the Thickest.”
Visage will play Avery in the comedy, which has been picked up for eight episodes, while Cooper will play Sydney. Also added to the cast are Anthony Michael Lopez as Bruce, Liza Treyger as Jade and Allan K. Washington as Trent.

There was no shortage of Hot Stuff when the cast of Summer, The Donna Summer Musical visited Broadway Sessions recently. The multi faceted cast, including Storm Lever, Afra Hines, Wonu Ogunfowora, Anissa Felix, Jody Reynard, Ken Robinson, Kristin Yancy, Judith Franklin, Aaron Krohn shared their favorite tunes that went way beyond disco. Audience members had the opportunity to learn choreography from the hit show and to interact with the cast.
