Mauro Villani was born in Frosinone on the 15th January 1982. Graduated in Publishing, Multimedia Communication and Journalism at the University of Rome (Sapienza), since 2005 makes short films and music videos as a director, writer and editor. Good Morning Mr. Frank, a satire on the persuasive strategies that nowadays govern advertising mechanisms, won the People Choice Award at the 4th edition of "Dieciminuti Film Festival". Carlo che scrive lettere d'amore, in competition at the 10th edition of the "International Festival of the Cinema of Frontier" and in more than 15 national festivals, was selected to take part in the "Cannes Short Film Corner" and gained a nomination for Best Soundtrack in the exibition of independent short films "A Corto di Idee". Giulia's Place won the People Choice Award at the "Short of the Month Online Film Festival" and won Best Trailer at the february 2016 edition of the "Barcelona Planet Film Festival". It also was selected in more than 20 national and international festivals and gained two nominations for Best Actor and Best Soundtrack at the "Short of the Month Online Film Festival". While you were sleeping, long-take experimental short movie that tells the conclusion of a difficult and troubled love story counterposing the fragmentation of characters to the linearity of the action, won Best Short Film at the october 2016 edition of the "12 Months Film Festival" and Best LGBT Film at the october 2016 edition of the "Direct Online Short Film Festival".
