When new Survivor fans are still figuring out which seasons to watch first, they will likely quickly notice Jeff Probst and the reality show's best players. After that, those same fans are likely to best remember the players who won the game and anyone who was medically evacuated. However, fans who've seen and ranked every season will recognize that Phillip Sheppard is also one of the show's most memorable players ever.
Unfortunately for Phillip, he has revealed how much Survivor traumatized him and spoke out about "Boston" Rob being set up to win their season. If that wasn't awful enough, it turns out that Phillip also expressed his frustrations with how he was treated when he made it to the final tribal council.

Fans are buzzing about a potential showmance between Wendell Holland and Dee Valladares, both former Survivor winners. Holland confessed to a breakup and revealed his involvement with Valladares, expressing remorse for his actions. Despite controversy, fans defended their right to privacy, speculating on a possible return to Survivor for both Holland and Valladares.
Showmances tend to make up some of the most entertaining moments of reality TV, and Survivor is no different. The excitement that comes with two players falling for each other in the full view of the world is unmatched, but fans felt they found one blossoming away between two former winners.
There is arguably no greater Survivor love story than that between Season 8 winner Amber Brkich and Boston Rob Mariano, deemed in some quarters as the best player of all time. He also got the chance to come back and emerge victorious in Survivor: Redemption Island (Season...

This article contains spoilers for Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine remains one of the best network comedies of the last decade. This precinct full of silly, yet caring detectives has made us laugh, cry, and almost every other emotion in-between over the course of its eight seasons.
There’s not a single season that’s remotely bad, per se, but there are certainly some that hit the mark better than others. From heartfelt character moments to impeccable comedic timing, the show continues to get better as it goes on, for the most part. That being said, here are the eight seasons of Brooklyn Nine-Nine ranked from worst to best.
8. Season 1
Season 1 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine isn’t terrible by any means. The first season does a great job of introducing us to these characters, establishing who they are in this world and how they relate to each other. But, as with most sitcoms,...

Like most long-running reality TV shows, twist and turns in the format regularly happen. On “Survivor,” which has been on CBS since 2000, the behind-the-scene masterminds often like to isolate players away from the other castaways and test their mettle. They have used the concept of “island” twists four times. The current 38th season introduces probably the most stressful option yet — “Extinction Island.” The show is intentionally hiding what is expected of players who land there. But that got us thinking about how, at least so far, you think it compares to the other “Survivor’s” other three islands — Exile, Redemption and Ghost. Below, refresh your memories about what each island involved and then vote in our poll for your favorite.
See 4 stupidest moments from ‘Survivor: Edge of Extinction’ episode 2: Aubry being way too obvious, Manu tribe turning on Kelley …

Some may say it’s a cliché, but “New Year, New You” is a phrase for a reason. Many feel the urge to shed the disappointment and unhealthy behaviors of the past year and start anew in January. This can mean a lot of things: a gym membership, exiting toxic relationships, being kinder to yourself and so on.

It is officially summer for us! Yay! So, we thought this would be the perfect time to tell you about our summer reading plans. In this week’s episode, we tell you about the Cbldf and announce our Challenged Graphic Novel Reading Challenge. Our hope is that kids and parents (and everyone else) will read along with us. Because you seriously can’t question that book be suitable for library shelves if you haven’t read it, right?
This summer we will be reading 8 graphic novels that have been challenged or banned in school libraries and then every week we will discuss one of the titles. We’ll talk about why it was challenged, how to best talk about the questioned topics or themes in the book with your kids. We’ll also tell you from a kid’s perspective how we viewed the appropriateness of the books for us,...

Caffrey pulled off his biggest con yet, faking his own death, unbeknownst to his fellow partner Mozzie (Willie Garson) and FBI handler-turned-friend Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) .

Step aside, Jon Hamm. Matthew McConaugh-who? Last night’s Emmy Awards proved that True Detective director Cary Joji Fukunaga is hotter than any A-lister we’ve previously coveted, and that man braids are making a big comeback. The internet thinks so, too.
Fukunaga has come a long way since his days as a production assistant for the Destiny’s Child “Survivor” video. Before linking up with the True Detective team, he made a name for himself on the indie circuit with Sundance hit Sin Nombre in 2009, as well as 2011′s Jane Eyre, starring Michael Fassbender and Mia Wasikowska. He directed all eight episodes of the HBO series, and won the award for Outstanding Directing of a Drama Series. When he did, Twitter exploded.

The Emmys honor the best performances on television, but the telecast is all about celebrating the best speeches. Here’s how we called it:
1. Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston, Lead Actor in a Drama Series: It was Cranston’s night. He had the perfect amount of humility (“Even I thought about voting for Matthew”), humor (“I love you, especially those scenes in bed,” he told Anna Gunn) and inspiration (find your passion, Sneaky Petes).
2. Veep’s Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lead Actress in a Comedy: Leave it to Louis-Dreyfus, who took home her third consecutive Emmy for Veep, to keep things fresh.

Survivor has outwitted, outplayed, and outlasted an entire side of Vulture's Reality Rumble bracket to make it to today's upcoming finals, where it will take on Project Runway. One of the main reasons for the show's dominance is how over 14 years and 28 seasons, it still has the ability to surprise, thanks to devious players pulling off moves that flip power structures upside-down and completely reset the quest to the million-dollar prize. Here are the ten best game-changing strategic moves in the history of the series. The list has spoken!10. Swing Away (Season 22, Redemption Island, 2011) "Boston Rob" Mariano's fourth Survivor at-bat is one of the most dominant wins in the show's history, even if it was one of the dullest, his steady disciplined leadership resulting in a predictable game. The season's one big shock was also Rob's career-best move, when Matt Elrod returned at the merge from...

While I would have preferred a Gotham Central TV series, Fox has won the bidding war over Gotham, a series that follows future police commissioner Jim Gordon in the days before he meets Batman.
Jack Coleman, who I think might be the only person to play two different gay characters on the same night of TV (thanks to gay roles on The Office and The Vampire Diaries) will appear in a recurring role on the upcoming season of Scandal.
In news that makes me happy, FX has ordered a second season of The Bridge. I’m looking forward to seeing Sonya and Marco continue to be TV’s oddest odd-couple cops. I’m also hoping they find a way to keep Matthew Lilard around. He makes more sense than some of The Bridge‘s other peripheral characters.

It’s that time of year again, and the fall television schedule is another trip into the wild. This is going to be an interesting fall, in part because last season had so many big efforts that didn’t go anywhere. You can see the wake of that effort in the listings, more as a matter of the absence of similar series.
Let’s take a look at what’s coming, and figure out just how much is worth watching, if anything is worth setting into your DVR, and how much of the week is going to be available for the cable networks to grab hold of you.

The women finally get it together on "Survivor: One World"!
Post Tribal
A huge storm rolls in and the guys offer to let the women come to their shelter, but the girls say they'll wait to see how it goes. Uh, are you serious? I would've been jumping on that offer! You need all the rest you can get, tribe that can't win anything. Then in the morning, they are sad about being cold and tired and having no fire and therefore no food. Uh, who's fault is that?
When Matt comes back from crab hunting (so, he feels like he's back at the frat house), he's quite annoyed the girls are over there trying to dry off by their fire.
Reward Challenge
It's raining again, yuck. The challenge is a memory test. Each person faces off with an opposite tribe member, they are shown six items in order and...

Christine was looking to repeat Matt Elrod's performance last season by getting back into the game on 'Survivor: South Pacific' (Wed., 8Pm Et on CBS). Meanwhile, Brandon Hantz continues running from the legacy of his Uncle Russell, though ironically Coach noticed this week that he runs exactly like his uncle.
!!Spoiler Alert!!
It was Survivor Shuffleboard at Redemption Island, and Christine kept alive another week, and proved to her tribemates she's still holding a grudge by flipping them the bird when they tried to root for her.

Since our first edition was so popular, AfterElton.com now brings you Part 2 of “Hot Men of Fall TV”, where we take a look at a whole new crop of sexy actors from the upcoming fall season. This bunch is particularly “gay-friendly”, featuring as it does several actors who in many cases made their names portraying gay characters.
It bears mentioning again, however, that the network’s upcoming programs are sadly lacking when it comes to representing actors of color. In a television climate that’s seeing such great strides in the depiction of Glbt characters, we can only hope network executives won’t lose sight of the fact that boosting the number of racial minorities on the small screen remains an important goal.
Michael Arden, The Good Wife (CBS)
Before turning to TV and movies, openly gay actor Michael Arden was a successful Broadway star with a string of well-received performances under his belt.

Everyone loves a winner, especially when his name is Awesome Rob Mariano. But he's not the only Survivor: Redemption Island castaway we spoke to today. We powwowed with the losers, too. (Because Mark Burnett and Jeff Probst wouldn't let him. Kidding! Sorta.) But wait, there's more! Runner-up ("Phile" got one vote!) Phillip Sheppard says he was acting the whole time—to help Rob and to further his career in drama—and finalist Natalie Tenerelli insists she was playing to win. Seriously, folks... Want More? If you had told me before the season began that Phillip Sheppard would end up in second place on Survivor: Redemption Island, I would have called you crazy. Crazy like Phillip Sheppard! But somehow, someway, the Stealth R Us point person ended up as runner-up. I talked with Philip all about his unlikely journey, his feelings about his castmates, and his plans for the future, which, quite frankly, are spectacular. Read on after the jump to enjoy for yourself.

Each week, Survivor host Jeff Probst answers a few questions about the most recent episode of Redemption Island. Here, he addresses some points from the season finale and reunion show.
What’s this? No Fallen Comrades tribute? I’m still in a state of Survivor shock at its omission! Did you guys not have them do it this season, or did the footage just not fit into the episode due to the time needed for the final Redemption Island duel?
We did shoot the tribute, but we had too much show and had to make a decision. We decided to...

Matt Elrod, while not even finishing in the Top 5, was a fan favorite on "Survivor: Redemption Island." He lasted through 10 duels via the new Redemption Island twist and leaned heavily on his spirituality to help get him through the ordeal.
He tells the press in his exit interview about his experience on the show and whether or not he'd go back.
On how he decided who to vote for at the end:
"My vote was based on 'Survivor' excellence. Even though I played a very different game than Rob, I still love and respect the game of Survivor. What he did was pretty incredible and he deserves the million dollars."
Would he have the same strategy if he were to play again?
"If I were to play again, I probably wouldn't divulge my strategy to you now. [laughs] I'm really not sure at this point. I'd love to go back,...

Matt Elrod was the second person voted out of Redemption Island, and yet he still made it all the way to the finale. His journey came to an end in the final duel as he admired some pretty trees and oh-so-briefly lost his concentration, allowing his vase to tip over and fall. He called into EW.com today to discuss his unique experience on the show, why he signed up in the first place, and whether or not he is actually dating Andrea. Read on after the jump for the complete interview.

Since the beginning of Survivor: Redemption Island, Phillip Sheppard has become known for two things: his former life as a secret agent and his teeny tiny pink briefs that left very little to the imagination. So what did Julie Wolfe do when she grew tired of Phillip's ramblings and accusations? She hid his only pair of shorts. "That was probably not such a good idea to make everybody else look at him in those panties," Wolfe tells TVGuide.com. The 50-year-old firefighter also talked about Matt Elrod's struggle to survive on Redemption Island, how "Boston Rob" Mariano's alliance was "almost like a cult" and how she is doing following her...

Survivor is casting a stand-in resembling Matt Elrod for three days around the show's May 15 finale. Matt was just voted out of the game for the second time, and obviously his time on Redemption Island will be discussed during the live reunion, but why does the show need a stand-in for him and him alone for three days? The gig is for an AFTRA member who will get paid $24 an hour for three...

HollywoodNews.com: I don’t write much about CBS’ Survivor series, but I occasionally chime in on the finales, as I did a year and a half ago to blast Russell Hantz’ utter lack of class and to cheer on Jud “Fabio” Birza’s unexpected victory this past December.
However, last night’s episode on Survivor: Redemption Island caused me to jump up aghast at the TV when I saw Matt Elrod, having regained entry to the game after masterfully winning six challenges in a row, throw it all away with an incredible blunder.
Okay, I wasn’t thrilled about his penchant to pontificate about religion, but the guy generally seemed amiable and smart, and he was adept at physical challenges. I felt he’d gotten a raw deal when the so-called Boston Rob Mariano engineered his early departure from the Ometepe Tribe, but was delighted...

Eliminated Survivor: Redemption Island contestant Stephanie Valencia has claimed that she found life in the wilderness too easy. The 25-year-old waitress, who was booted from the CBS show this week after losing a Redemption Island duel against Matt Elrod, confessed to hoping that the Nicaragua jungle would force her rival contestants out of the game. She told People: "I was actually hoping for worse conditions. I was hoping for more rain, less crab, less rice. I was hoping for the fire to go out because I felt that there were people on my tribe that - if things got worse - would just quit on their own. I would love that because then you don't have to work for them to leave; nature will just handle their business." Valencia, who quickly became an outsider on the Zapatera tribe due to her alliance (more)...

Survivor: Redemption Island castaway Krista Klumpp technically lasted until Episode 6, but many would say her fate was sealed weeks ago when ally (and series villain) Russell Hantz was booted from the game. Despite her close (and ultimately fatal) ties to Russell and her early paranoia about playing with him, Krista says she has no regrets about aligning with one of the competition's most infamous players. The 25-year-old pharmaceutical rep also talked with TVGuide.com about her close bond to Matt Elrod (and the impending drama that came with it), the real reason she thinks she was voted out before Stephanie [Valencia] and the tribe member she thinks already blew their best shot at the grand prize...

From that very memorable (and quite disastrous) first Tribal Council of Survivor: Redemption Island, Kristina Kell seemed to have a tough road ahead of her. She found a hidden immunity idol, which Phillip Sheppard quickly revealed to the team. She plotted to get out veteran player "Boston Rob" Mariano, but Phillip spoiled that too. The final nail in her Survivor coffin? When she had to face the young and physically fit Matt Elrod in her Redemption Island duel. The 46-year-old law student talked with TVGuide.com about her medical issues during the duel, working with "crazy, lunatic, out-of-his-mind, paranoid, delusional" Phillip and why she refers to her former tribe mates as "Rob's zombies"...

Are you glad you did 'Survivor,' was it everything you hoped it would be?
"I'm thrilled I was given the opportunity to do something like 'Survivor.' Talk about a once in a lifetime opportunity. I'm so grateful ... I knew it was gonna be hard, I knew it was going to be really tough. It was so much, so much harder than I ever iamgeind. Especially the mental part of the game and the emotion that it brings up in you. I thought I was a really tough cookie when I walked into 'Survivor' and 'Survivor' taught me different. The third time was not the charm for Survivor legend Russell Hantz. After making it to the final Tribal Council back-to-back in Samoa and Heroes vs. Villains, the 38-year-old oil tycoon failed to last until the merge, let alone the jury vote, and was voted out by his all-too-suspicious Zapatera tribemates in just the third episode of Redemption Island. Die-hard series fans thought Russell would have the perseverance to beat Matt Elrod in the final duel, but his dominos fell short and one of the game's most notorious players left on a surprisingly emotional note.
Russell talked with TVGuide.com about his teary send-off, why he's still no fan "Boston Rob" Mariano and why he felt like John Gotti on the island. Plus: He discusses those "completely false" reports that he leaked show spoilers...

TV Review: Spectacular Season of CBS’s ‘Survivor: Redemption Island’ Continues With Riveting Episode
Chicago – Has there ever been a season of reality TV that got off to such an instantly-entertaining start as “Survivor: Redemption Island”? The new gameplay concept represented by the title has helped reinvigorate the series. The new cast is one of the best ever assembled in terms of making instant impressions on the viewing audience. And then there’s Russell and Boston Rob, two of the most divisive and memorable contestants to ever play the game. It’s not too late to join the tribe.

Tonight’s episode, the fourth of the season entitled “Don’t You Work For Me?,” would be a good place to start. If you still have last week’s episode sitting unwatched in your DVR, now would be the time to bookmark this review and come back later because it’s about to be spoiled. The act of "blindsiding" someone has now become so commonplace on Survivor that it's expected, and thus almost doesn't work, because it's not blind if everyone can expect it to happen. But tonight's vote, when Matt Elrod was sent home from the Ometepe tribe instead of Phillip, definitely qualifies as a blindside. His mouth dropped open when Jeff Probst started reading the votes with his name on them, and he said, simply, "Damn, guys," as...
