I’ve long had a soft spot for stories that transplant Batman to different times. The best is probably Gotham By Gaslight, which imagines a Victorian Batman tangling with Jack the Ripper, but I also have a huge soft spot for Grant Morrison’s time-hopping miniseries Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne, in which we see Caveman Batman, Witchhunter Batman, Pirate Batman, Cowboy Batman and 30s Gumshoe Batman. So, I’m naturally over the moon with this new trailer for Batman Ninja.

First announced at the New York Comic-Con, the project is the brainchild of DC and a number of anime and manga superstars. Namely, Junpei Mizusaki (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure), Takashi Okazashi (Afro Samurai), and Kazuki Nakashima (Gurren Lagann).

From what I can tell from the trailer, the movie opens with Batman and the Joker engaged in a typically tense battle to the death, only to find themselves hurled back to medieval Japan.

Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn was undoubtedly the breakout character of last year’s Suicide Squad, so it’s unsurprising that the actor and Warner Bros. are developing a spinoff project for the character. Perhaps more surprising is the fact that it’s just one of a number of Harley-centric movies in development, and this latest one she's speaking of doesn't seem to have been reported on before.

I can’t imagine working at DC Films, and trying to sort to sort through all the projects they have moving in various stages in development. In must be a Kafka-esque experience, especially as the temperate at the company seems to change every day (and usually, getting cooler). But if one thing has become clear, everyone really loves Margot Robbie‘s portrayal of Harley Quinn in “Suicide Squad.”

Margot Robbie has got a lot of DC projects brewing that involve Harley Quinn. We already know that she will be a part of Suicide Squad 2, Joker & Harley, and Gotham City Sirens. The actress has now revealed in an interview with MTV that she has a fourth Harley Quinn project that she's been developing for the past two years, and she clarified that the project is different than any other films mentioned above.

She doesn't offer any other details on the project, so I'm curious to see what she's got cooking for it. I really enjoyed Margot Robbie as Harley in Suicide Squad. She's the perfect actress to play this character and I can't wait to see more of her in these upcoming films!

Coming out of Suicide Squad, there’s wasn’t an awful lot to salvage from David Ayer’s muddled, CG-laden mess other than Harley Quinn, the scenery-chewing femme fatale brought to life by Margot Robbie.

Indeed, it was Robbie’s gleeful performance that resonated with fans – more so than any other member of Task Force X – so it’s small wonder why Warner Bros. has decided to double down on her Harley Quinn for the foreseeable future.

Right then, let's try and keep up with all of the different Harley Quinn projects first. Ready? Suicide Squad 2 is happening, which is fine because Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn was great. But it won't be directed by David Ayer, because he has moved on to Gotham City Sirens, which will also feature Margot Robbie as Harley. But then there's also an untitled Joker and Harley Quinn movie (not to be confused with the solo Joker origins movie), which will, you guessed it, star Margot Robbie.

Now, in a new interview with MTV, Robbie says that there is yet another Harley Quinn movie in the works. The only clue to this is that she says she has been working on it for two years. So what could this be?

Whether you liked Suicide Squad or not, the fact of the matter is that it raked in a lot of dough at the box office and was a merchandising monster – and Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn played a huge part in that. Really, her tremendous embodiment of the character just happened to coincide with the Clown Princess of Crime’s popularity being on an upswing, thus we saw her become the most cosplayed character of 2016.

We know that a lot of footage was shot of the character, but ultimately most of it ended up not being used. Like many of you, I assumed The Joker was going to have a much bigger part of the story. Instead, Cara Delevinge's Enchantress ended up being the main villain. Some fans didn't really care for her as the villain, while others seemed to embrace it. I actually kinda liked Enchantress. DC's upcoming streaming service will be the home for a Harley Quinn animated series...

Warner Bros. is developing a Harley Quinn animated series for its upcoming DC Entertainment-themed streaming service. Harley's star continues to rise as a character, and Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn was a major factor in the success of the Suicide Squad movie. Deadline reports that Warner Bros. wants to see if they can convince her to voice Harley in animated form, as well.

The good news is that Harley Quinn is, of course, perfect for animation. She made her debut on Batman: The Animated Series, and her antics on the page and screen are akin to a supervillainous Bugs Bunny at times. The other news is that it comes from the executive producers behind last year's NBC short-lived DC superhero comedy, Powerless, Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, and Dean Lorey. If you're a fan of Harley Quinn, I've got some awesome news to share with you! DC Entertainment has announced that they will be developing an adult-oriented action-comedy series based on the character!

According to THR, the series is being developed by the team that developed the fantastically fun DC series Powerless that ended up being canceled. That creative team consists of Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey.

The first season will consist of 26 half-hour episodes and Margot Robbie will be asked to voice the character in the series. As of right now, we don't know if she'll end up doing it or not, but it'd be cool if she did. Thanks to the report, we also have the following details on what the series will entail:

Deadline is reporting tonight that Harley Quinn, who’s already getting her own spinoff movie, is now in line to receive her very own animated TV series, too. Warner Bros. has ordered 26 episodes of a “half-hour adult animated action comedy” show from Powerless producers Justin Halpern & Patrick Schumacker, and Dean Lorey via Warner Bros. Animation.

Margot Robbie is said to be on the top of the studio’s list for who they want to voice the character and while they are expected to make her an offer, there’s no telling if the hugely in demand actress will sign on. Justice League features enough easter eggs to DC lore to fill the Batcave, and we’ve already pointed out a few of the best. But there’s one that’s seemingly slipped by most fans: a potential nod to Batman’s femme fatale (and fiancee, in current comic books), Catwoman.

At the end of the movie, part of a montage shows that Diana has finally stepped into the light as Wonder Woman, as she’s seen foiling a robbery at a museum. In the background of the scene, we can see a sophisticated-looking lady being arrested for the crime. One eagle-eyed fan on Reddit, username Tsarita, has theorized that this could be Selina Kyle, saying the following about it:

Despite, uh, less than superreviews for Justice League, the DC Universe is barreling forward, it seems, if the two -- yes, two -- post-credit scenes are any indication. (Y'know, in addition to all the seeds planted in the actual movie for Queen Atlanna, Darkseid and Green Lantern Corps.)

While the DC brain trust has tended away from adding tags on the movies -- "'I don't know, can I do that?' DC fans had their minds blown when it was announced back in the summer that an origins movie for the Joker was in the works. Sitting outside the DC Extended Universe, the film is set to feature a new actor as the Clown Prince of Crime in place of Jared Leto. Though it may be incubating in the formative stages of development, Gareth Evans’ Deathstroke spinoff has already generated a ton of buzz online.

Having entered talks alongside Joe Manganiello (The Batman?) late last month, it seems The Raid filmmaker has officially begun his research on Slade Wilson, the masked vigilante who’s haunted Gotham since as far back as 1980. Best known for her scene-stealing performance as Darling in Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver, González has been tipped to play Catwoman for Warner Bros. and David Ayer, after a handful of DC fans noticed that the director is now following González on Twitter. The Batman vs. Two-Face animated movie nearly invited Poison Ivy to the special guest batvillain party.

Warner Bros. has been fulfilling longtime Batman fan dreams for the last year. After first reuniting Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar for Batman: Return Of The Caped Crusaders, they immediately revealed the news that they'd be bringing one of the greatest Batman villains to never appear on the original TV series to the screen, with this year's Batman vs. Two-Face. Not only that, they got the legendary William Shatner to voice the dual role of Harvey Dent and Two-Face.

There are a handful of iconic Batman villains of the era who never joined the ranks of Joker, Riddler, Catwoman, Penguin, or Mr. Freeze on TV. Scarecrow, Two-Face, and Poison Ivy were all around during the era of the Batman TV series, but never made the jump to live action as "special guest batvillains.

So far, Batman: White Knight has captured the attention of readers everywhere, and understandably so (you can check out our review of the first issue here). Not only does it reexamine the effect that the Caped Crusader has on Gotham City as a whole, but it also sees the Joker seemingly cured of his insanity and running for public office. Really, you never know when the next Dark Knight Returns or Long Halloween might come around – but this may very well be it.

With film fans still reeling from the news that Jared Leto (Blade Runner 2049) has come on board to headline the feature, we’re now learning that a Suicide Squad reunion could be on the cards, as one source close to The Mirror has tipped Margot Robbie to play one of Hefner’s three wives: Mildred Williams, Kimberley Conrad, or Crystal Harris.

As Warner Bros. continues to future-proof its prized Dceu with Joker origin stories and spinoffs featuring Jared Leto’s Clown Prince of Crime and his muse, Harley Quinn, the Justice League are quietly waiting for their time in the limelight.

Truth be told, it’s been a long, meandering journey to release, but the film is almost here now and as we inch closer and closer to November 17th, Warner Bros. is beginning to really kick the marketing machine into high gear. That continues today with the final, and suitably epic trailer for the pic – which is set to a cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes.”

Packed to the brim with explosive action, great character moments, improved effects and tons of fun interactions between the various team members, it’s without a doubt the most promising look at the film yet and should help ease the worries of those who...

Conventional wisdom holds that longer games make for better games. While that may have been true at a time when the only option for buying single games was to spend upwards of $50, the age of discount indie titles and regular Steam sales has not only rendered it obsolete but revealed how the demand for longevity has bred an array of strategies for wasting the audience’s time. These days, I’ll much more readily enjoy a game, especially a story-based one, that quickly gets to the point and then lets me move on, rather than one that pads itself out with empty space and nameless collectibles. Perhaps for this reason, Batman: The Enemy Within – Episode 2: The Pact feels like a significant improvement over the first episode, despite lasting less than two hours.

Of course, Episode 1: The Enigma wasn’t a standard time-waster, but it had an obnoxious habit...

One reason why the character of Batman has endured for 78 years is that he’s so malleable. Sure, there are intrinsic qualities that unite various interpretations such as his superior intellect, martial arts skills and care for his fellow man, but that doesn’t mean there haven’t been portrayals on opposite ends of the spectrum. For example, both Adam West and Ben Affleck have brought something very different to the table, but neither man’s efforts were no less valid than the other – and the same sentiment can be extended to comics and animation.

Having said that, the time has come to embrace what the near future will bring. As it turns out, the Caped Crusader will once again venture to the Japanese anime arena, this time with Batman Ninja. Directed by JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s Jumpei Mizusaki, this bold story will see – get this – the Dark Knight...
