In a virtual press conference held by Warner Bros. Pictures on Tuesday, January 28, filmmaker Ryan Coogler unveiled the latest trailer for his horror thriller “Sinners.” Starring Michael B. Jordan in the dual role of twin brothers Smoke and Stack, the film is set during one day in 1932 and features a whole host of elements that make it a lot more than your traditional vampire flick.
“The film is very genre fluid,” Coogler said (as per The Hollywood Reporter). “It switches in and out of a lot of different genres. Yes, vampires are an element, but it’s not the only supernatural element in the movie. The film is about more than just that.”
He views the supernatural as something intertwined with the spiritual, with “Sinners” contrasting the religious fervor shared in the light with the subversive blues culture of the time explored in the dark. In making the film, Coogler...

Yesterday, a full trailer was released for Sinners, a genre picture and a period piece from frequent collaborators Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan – who have worked on Fruitvale Station, Creed, Black Panther, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever together as director and cast member, and have other collaborations that Coogler didn’t direct. Once the trailer had been unveiled, Entertainment Weekly released a video in which Coogler and Jordan break it down, and now you can watch that video in the embed above. Coogler and Jordan try to avoid spoilers in this video, but they do talk about the film’s setting (it takes place over one day in 1932) and the characters, particularly the twin brothers played Jordan.

This long-awaited mystery thriller had fans talking for months, and after a tug-of-war between Warner Bros. and other studios, it’s finally making its way to the big screen. Starring Michael B. Jordan in a dual role, Sinners‘ first trailer has certainly grabbed attention, but not without controversy. While the eerie and suspenseful footage had intrigued audiences, many fans feel Warner Bros. isn’t doing justice to the film’s marketing.

Some argue that the promotional campaign is too vague, leaving out key details that could draw in a wider audience. As anticipation builds, the question remains, will the film’s mystery be enough to sell itself, or is Warner Bros. keeping too much in the dark?

A second trailer for Ryan Coogler’s fifth directorial feature film Sinners has arrived, and there is much to sink teeth into.
The horror film centers on Michael B. Jordan’s twins who return to their hometown to escape their troubled lives, only to realize that an even bigger threat lies in wait at home. Coogler hinted that vampires wouldn’t be “the only supernatural element” the film deals with. Coogler also opened up about how personal making the film was to him.
“Each time I’ve made a film it’s become more and more personal. With this one I was digging into two relationships, one with my maternal grandfather who I never met. He died about a year before I was born,” Coogler said in a virtual press conference held by Warner Bros. yesterday. “He was from Merrill, Mississippi and eventually moved to Oakland, married my grandmother and...

2024 was a great year for horror fans as we got horrifyingly beautiful films like Nosferatu and Longlegs. So, we decided to compile a list of the most anticipated horror films that are coming in 2025.

Presence is an upcoming supernatural horror thriller film directed by Steven Soderbergh from a screenplay by David Koepp. The upcoming film revolves around a family who move into a suburban neighborhood and soon believe their house is haunted. While the plot for Presence sounds like a typical horror film, the ultimate twist, aka hook for the upcoming Soderbergh film, is that the film is shot from the ghost’s perspective.

Sony and MGM’s upcoming Spider-Noir series, starring Nicolas Cage, will be the first TV show in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (Ssu), and fans are already excited. Cage returns as Spider-Man Noir, bringing his popular role from the animated Spider-Verse movies to life in live-action. Fans are looking forward to seeing his take on the gritty, 1930s-inspired hero.
The series will have eight episodes and is set to stream on MGM+ in late 2025 or early 2026. Filming will finish by early 2025. The story will follow an “aging, down-on-his-luck private investigator” in 1930s New York City, dealing with his past as the city’s only superhero—a fresh take on the noir-style Spider-Man.
Now JustJared shared a new set photo that showcases Cage as Private Eye Ben Reilly:

It's business as usual in Los Angeles now the worst of the wildfires is over and Spider-Noir resumed shooting yesterday. Lead star Nicolas Cage, no stranger to comic book adaptations, has been spotted in costume as Ben Reilly, albeit in his P.I. gear rather than a super-suit.
The actor first played this version of Spidey in 2018's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and became an instant fan-favourite. The fact he's getting to reprise the role in live-action isn't something we ever expected, though this Spider-Man is Ben, not Peter Parker (we don't think that makes him a clone; it's more than likely a result of Sony not wanting to confuse audiences).
It's been a while since we got any updates about Spider-Noir but MGM and Amazon Prime appear to be moving full steam ahead with the streaming series.
While it was put into development before Sony Pictures pulled the plug on its villain-led Marvel Universe,...

Nicolas Cage is spending the day on set!
The 61-year-old Oscar-winning actor left his trailer as he headed to set on his new series Spider-Noir on Monday (January 13) in downtown Los Angeles.
For his time on set, Nicolas sported a gray three-piece suit.
The new series “tells the story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.”
This is not Nicholas‘ first time playing Spider-Man Noir. He voiced the role in the animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Spider-Noir has been officially ordered to series already at MGM+ and Amazon Prime Video.
The series also stars Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, and Li Jun Li.
Some recent set pics seemingly revealed the series’ villain!

The superhero landscape of Marvel is coming with a noir twist as Nicolas Cage plunges into New York in the 1930s. It will be the first time that Spider-Man Noir will be moving from animation to live-action. Cage, who has already voiced the character in Sony’s Spider-Verse series, is now going to introduce this version of the superhero in MGM+’s upcoming series.

The series is set to offer a superhero action genre mixed with the noir detective drama. As shooting has already begun last year, fans have caught the first look at Cage in costume, and one thing is clear: what’s on the way will not only be a memorable chapter in Cage’s career but also in Spider-Man’s on-screen adaptations.

The first TV spot for Black Panther director Ryan Coogler's Depression-era horror movie has been released, and it features some new footage that wasn't in the full trailer.
In Sinners, Michael B. Jordan plays twin brothers in the Jim Crow-era Deep South who decide to leave their troubled lives behind by returning to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.
The trailer suggested that the brothers will come up against some kind of dark supernatural force, but there was no real indication that either of them - or the threat they face - are vampires, which was previously rumored.
This teaser does show a little more of the main characters in peril as they face unseen foes, but there's still no sign of any creatures of the night!

Stephen King is a horror genre staple, and he often recommends TV shows or movies that he enjoys. He's best known for iconic horror novels such as The Shining and It, and has remained in the public spotlight for his books and adaptations of his work. Stephen King even has another book on the way, continuing a legacy that has scared readers for decades.
Because of his reputation in the horror genre, many trust his recommendations for different works, whether they be novels, TV shows, or even films. The genres of his recommendations often vary, but horror still seems to be the most consistent. Though many of King's books could still use sequels, his recommended shows such as Cabinet of Curiosities and Midnight Mass will have to do in the meantime.

Margot Robbie is still perplexed why Babylon didn’t get a good reception from moviegoers.
Damien Chazelle’s 2022 film also starred Brad Pitt, Diego Calva, Jean Smart, Jovan Adepo, and Li Jun Li. With an estimated budget of $80 million, the Paramount Pictures film only made $15 million at the domestic box office and a total of $63 million worldwide.
“I don’t get it either. I know I am biased because I am very close to the project and I obviously believe in it, but I still can’t figure out why people hated it,” Robbie said on The Talking Pictures podcast. “I wonder if in 20 years people are going to be like, ‘Wait, Babylon didn’t do well at the time?’ Like when you hear that Shawshank Redemption was a failure at the time and you’re like like, ‘How is that possible?’”

Sony and Amazon/MGM's Spider-Noir series appears to be taking some major liberties with the source material, but given how obscure this Variant of the web-slinger is, does it really matter if "Ben Reilly" is beneath the mask instead of Peter Parker?
That's debatable; regardless, Sony appears to be ignoring the fact Ben is Peter's clone and we don't anticipate that being addressed in any way when Spider-Noir swings on to streaming next year.
Today, we have some new photos from the TV show's set (via Just Jared) showcasing Nicolas Cage's private eye. We've already seen that the series will feature a comic-accurate superhero costume and Cage unquestionably looks the part of "Ben" in these snaps.
Earlier this year, Cage opened up on what led to him reprising a role he first played in the animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Nicolas Cage is hard at work on his new series!
The 60-year-old Oscar-winning actor took a quick lunch break in between scenes of his upcoming series Spider-Noir on Monday (November 11) in Los Angeles.
Nicolas was seen wear a dark green overcoat, gray suit, and a black fedora as he chatted with a co-star during their break.
Others who are starring in the series include Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, and Li Jun Li.
Some recent set pics seemingly revealed the series’ villain!

As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to expand, adapting bigger and bolder storylines to live-action, Sony too is moving ahead with its Spider-Man Universe. Having access to some 900 or so characters related to the fan-favorite web-slinger, the studio is now moving to the small screen to bring yet another story to live-action.

Starring Nicolas Cage, the studio has been developing the series Spider-Noir for quite some time now, and the first looks of the series were recently leaked. Reprising his role from the Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse, this time in live-action, fans are excited and waiting eagerly for the series.
Despite Sony’s track record of Marvel flicks (other than the Spider-Verse movies) being, bluntly stating, terrible, the prospect of seeing Cage as the live version of his character does seem alluring. So, without further ado, here is all we know about the latest and upcoming series.

Sony and MGM’s upcoming Spider-Noir series, starring Nicolas Cage, is set to be the first TV project within Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (Ssu), and excitement is already high. Cage returns as Spider-Man Noir, reprising his fan-favorite role from the animated Spider-Verse films—but this time, he’ll bring the character to life in live-action. Fans are particularly eager to see his take on the gritty, 1930s-inspired hero.
The series, consisting of eight episodes, is scheduled to stream on MGM+ in late 2025 or early 2026, with filming wrapping up in early 2025. The story will follow an “aging, down-on-his-luck private investigator” in 1930s New York City, who struggles with his past as the city’s only superhero—a unique twist on the noir-inspired Spider-Man.

Nicolas Cage was spotted on the set of Spider-Noir earlier this month but wasn’t in his Spidey costume at the time. Thankfully, our first look at the live-action Spider-Man Noir costume has arrived, thanks to a handful of set photos. There’s also a video that showcases a stunt sequence in which Spider-Noir is perched atop a vehicle while shooting webs. You’ll have to view that through the link. Given the nature of the scene, it’s not Cage in the costume but rather a stunt double.

Given that it's being developed by Sony, there's been some concern among fans that Amazon's Spider-Noir series starring Nicolas Cage might not see the title character actually suit up.
Peter Parker has already been replaced by Ben Reilly as Spider-Man Noir, but newly revealed photos and footage from the show's set confirm we're getting a comic-accurate take on the wall-crawling private detective.
The hero looks like he's stepped straight off the page with a design that's also pretty much identical to what we saw in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Based on how this scene is playing out, Ben will see a fair bit of action as he rides atop a car while shooting webs into the distance. He also has his trademark hat and goggles, though we should point out that it's a stuntman in the suit, not Cage.

Kaley Cuoco, Chris Messina, Tom Bateman and Liana Liberato are back with more murder and mayhem in Based on a True Story season two. And this time, there’s a new pint-sized accessory in tow.
Based on a True Story is based on (or partly inspired by) a true story. The series, which satirizes true-crime tropes, introduced Cuoco and Messina as Ava and Nathan, a down-on-their-luck couple who crossed paths with an infamous serial killer, “The Westside Ripper,” in Los Angeles. Ava, a pregnant true-crime obsessive, suggested making a podcast with the killer as a way out of their marital rut.
Now, after the events of season one, season two opens with Ava and Nathan as new parents who attempt to now get out of the true-crime game — but, as the trailer shows, those aspirations are fleeting. The season opens on Ava and Nathan struggling to balance parenthood with waking away from their obsession.

Hot on the heels of Max's series "The Penguin," another comic book character is getting his own TV show full of rain-soaked city streets and chiaroscuro lighting. After making his voice debut as Spider-Man Noir in the animated feature "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," Nicolas Cage is making the leap to live-action in "Spider-Noir." The series is currently filming, and it's set to premiere on MGM+ and Prime Video some time next year. "22 Jump Street" co-writer Oren Uziel and "The Punisher" creator Steve Lightfoot are serving as showrunners.
The need to protect plot secrets has confined a lot of comic book shows to working in studios or in remote locations unlikely to be haunted by paparazzi. "Spider-Noir" however, has taken directly to the streets of Los Angeles (which are doubling as the streets of New York), which means we now have our first look at Nicolas Cage in Spider-Man Noir's trademark giant trenchcoat,...

Longlegs star Nicolas Cage voiced the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man Noir in the animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and we’re going to have the chance to watch him play the character in live-action in the upcoming MGM+ and Prime Video series that’s going by the title Spider-Noir. That show is currently in production, and Cage has been spotted on set. Images of him can be seen in the Instagram embeds below – but before you scroll down, I’ll warn you that you shouldn’t expect to see Cage in the full Spider-Man Noir costume in these images. The spy pics only show him wearing a trenchcoat, with no sign of his mask.
Spider-Noir has Cage taking on the role of an aging and down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.

Prime Video's live-action Spider-Noir series officially began filming this week, and we got our first glimpse of star Nicolas Cage shooting a scene last night.
Now, Just Jared has shared some more set photos, giving us a much better look at Cage in his '30s attire while also confirming the show's main(?) villain.
As you'll see below, Cage is carrying a Daily Bugle newspaper prop in several photos, and the headline reads: "Silvermane Survives in Skivvies." Previous rumors have claimed that Silvio Manfredi, aka Silvermane, will be the primary antagonist. While that remains to be seen, he is clearly going to be a part of the show.
Hopefully, we'll get to see Cage suited-up as Spider-Man Noir soon (though the full costume really only adds a mask to the get-up he's wearing here). For now, have a look at the new set photos at the link below and let us know what you think.

Nicolas Cage‘s Daily Bugle prop newspaper might be revealing some big information about his new series, Spider-Noir!
The 60-year-old actor filmed the Spider-Man universe series, where he portrays Spider-Man Noir, on Wednesday (October 2) in front of a church in Los Angeles.
His newspaper he was holding while filming read, “Silvermane Survives in Skivvies.” Silvermane – aka Silvio Manfredi – is a major criminal in the Marvel Comics. He eventually becomes a crime boss after being a career criminal.
Here’s the show’s logline: The series “tells the story of an aging and down on his luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero.”
This is not Nicholas‘ first time playing Spider-Man Noir. He voiced the role in the animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Spider-Noir has been officially ordered to series already at MGM+ and Amazon Prime Video.

An official synopsis was released, but according to a more detailed breakdown (via Daniel Richtman), Ben Reilly (Cage) will be up against Silvio Manfredi, aka Silvermane, and Yuri Watanabe, aka Wraith.

“Sinners” is near.
The new Ryan Coogler film, which stars his longtime collaborator Michael B. Jordan, isn’t coming out until March 7, 2025 and has been shrouded in secrecy ever since cameras rolled. But a brand new teaser trailer, which you can watch below, is enough to give us a good idea of what to expect. And it is wild.
In “Sinners,” Jordan plays twin vampire brothers who return to their hometown in an attempt to start over. Once there, they discover something even more evil has taken root – the Ku Klux Klan (Jack O’Connell plays the evil racist baddie). The movie is set in 1930s Jim Crow South, with production taking place in New Orleans earlier this year — but this being a Coogler film, it’s filled with the kind of rich detail that brings history to life. Acclaimed actor Michael B. Jordan will reunite with director Ryan Coogler for their latest film “Sinners,” set for release next March. The supernatural horror movie takes place in the 1930s American South and blends historical elements with otherworldly forces. Jordan and Coogler have collaborated successfully on several previous projects together including “Fruitvale Station,” the “Creed” franchise, and Marvel’s “Black Panther” films.
Details about the plot remain vague, though trailers show Jordan portraying a bootlegger from the World War I era who encounters strange happenings he can’t explain. His character warns in a voiceover “I ain’t seen no demons, no ghosts, no magic – till now.” The community faces a sinister threat while the precise nature of the danger stays mysterious. Scenes depict terrified residents fleeing and a preacher cautioning that associating with evil will lead it to follow you home.

When Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan join forces, magic happens. The duo's prior efforts are all certified bangers that helped skyrocket Jordan to superstardom and earned Coogler the distinction of being behind the highest-grossing film of all time by an African American director. While Marvel has been struggling to get their "Blade" movie off the ground, Coogler and Jordan swept in to make the new vampire flick "Sinners," which horror fans have been thirsting after for months. Warner Bros. has kept details about the film pretty close to the chest, but with a logline floating around online and some paparazzi photos snapped of Jordan in period-attire, "Sinners" is rapidly ascending its way to the top of my list of most anticipated releases of 2025. Here's the logline:
"Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers (Jordan) return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even...

Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan’s fifth collaboration has been shrouded in secrecy since it was announced in January. Now eager film fans are getting their first look at “Sinners” — and all its bloody goodness. The film opens March 7, 2025 from Warner Bros.
The highly-anticipated horror thriller is based on an original script by Coogler, with the project set in the 1930s Jim Crow era-South and filmed earlier this year in the New Orleans area. But beyond those basic details, everything about the project — from the title to its plot — had been kept under wraps. Then, on Monday, the supernatural thriller was announced to be titled “Sinners.” Later, Jordan shared the film’s poster on social media, with the caption, “Dance with the devil…and he’ll follow you home.”

At long last, the first trailer for Ryan Coogler's mysterious Michael B. Jordan-led thriller, which Warner Bros. finally announced was called Sinners yesterday, has arrived. While the trailer is almost as evasive as the rest of the film's marketing, it's also just as need-it-now intriguing.
