Stars: Kaya Scodelario, Barry Pepper, Morfydd Clark, Ross Anderson, Jose Palma, George Somner, Anson Boon, Ami Metcalf | Written by Michael Rasmussen, Shawn Rasmussen | Directed by Alexandre Aja
Famed horror director Alexandre Aja, whose credits include The Hills Have Eyes, Horns, Piranha and Mirrors, returns to cinema screens after a three-year absence with Crawl. A creature-feature set during a category five hurricane in Florida. Crawl follows Kaya Scodelario’s Haley in a desperate state for survival with her father Dave (Barry Pepper) as they both become trapped in his basement that is flooding at an enormous pace. Only to be joined by a few hungry alligators for good measure.
Crawl is a return to form on a few levels. Namely elevating the genre from that of the dwindling and limited explosive creature feature genre that has been reappropriated for a more comedic and less cinematic fortune with features from production company The Asylum.

"I can distract them for you!" Paramount Pictures has unveiled the first official trailer for the summer horror movie Crawl, the latest from French horror filmmaker Alexandre Aja. The movie is about a young woman who, while attempting to save her father during a Catagory 5 hurricane, finds herself trapped in a flooding house and must fight for her life against alligators. Starring Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper, with Ross Anderson, Anson Boon, George Somner, and Ami Metcalf. This definitely does look like a gnarly "nail-biting horror thriller" and instead of sharks this time (much like Deep Blue Sea), it's alligators. This really does look intense and fun, it might actually be a good summer horror movie. Dive in. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Alexandre Aja's Crawl, direct from Paramount's YouTube: When a massive hurricane hits her Florida hometown, Haley (Kaya Scodelario) ...

Crawl, a new horror movie about a hurricane from Alexandre Aja, adds a terrifying wrinkle to an already horrible natural disaster.
Right now all of Hollywood is fawning over the box office might of superheroes, but there have been plenty of small to mid-budget success stories over the last year. A Quiet Place, for example, was last April’s Cinderella thriller was released by Paramount on a reasonable budget of $17 million and went on to gross nearly $240 million worldwide. Hence why Paramount might be eager to team with well-known horror auteurs like Alexandre Aja and Sam Raimi for a new original concept. So enters Crawl.
The film is working from a screenplay by Aja and Shawn and Michael Rasmussen. It also marks Aja's first feature-length directorial effort since 2016’s The 9th Life of Louis Drax. However, genre fans will likely know him best from his 2000s output,...

Following the success of Kathy Burke's Little Cracker short film, which aired on Sky 1 over Christmas 2010, the actress has written her first ever TV series, which has been picked up by Sky Atlantic.
Young Kathy harboured a dream to be an actress, but circumstance and her upbringing made it an unlikely dream.
The four-part Walking and Talking tells stories inspired from her teenage years - time spent skiving from school with her best friend, talking about boys and planning for the future. Her Little Cracker told of how a chance meeting with The Clash changed her life.
17 year old Ami Metcalf (represented by Kelly Management) will reprise her role starring as the young Kathy with Aimee-Ffion Edwards (Sketch from Skins) again playing her best friend.
Kathy Burke herself will also appear in each episode as Angry Nun, alongside Sean Gallagher (Coronation Street, Linda Green, Death in Paradise) who will play Pretty Nun,...
