TikTok star Avani Gregg has signed on for Breathe Deep, a new feature described as a survival action-thriller set in the world of social media (but with sharks).

Ingrid Torelli (Late Night With The Devil, The End ) and Michiel Huisman (Echo 3, Game of Thrones, Rebel Moon) will co-star in the upcoming feature from writer-director James Kermack (Hi-Lo Joe, and the upcoming Art of the Jump).

Torelli plays Addy Frost, an exploration influencer who returns to the Devil’s Triangle 13 years after witnessing her father’s death in a shark attack. But when he replicates his encounter, donning a version of her dad’s vintage diving suit and descending into the deep, she finds herself in a battle for survival with a killer great white.

Tarak Ben Ammar’s Italian outfit Eagle Pictures and Italy’s PiperFilm have announced a multi-pronged distribution partnership. Under their deal, PiperFilm will handle world sales on several Eagle-produced titles including upcoming comedy “Leopardi & Co” starring Whoopi Goldberg and Jeremy Irvine.

PiperFilm will launch sales on the English-language film, directed by Italy’s Federica Biondi, at the upcoming European Film Market. In “Leopardi & Co,” Goldberg portrays the agent of an American actor played by Irvine and lands him a part as the great Italian poet Giacomo Leopardi. But since her client knows nothing about Leopardi, a young Italian woman (played by Denise Tantucci) is hired to provide background information. Romance ensues.

The pact will see PiperFilm handling distribution of several Italian films produced by Eagle Pictures, while the Home Entertainment division of Eagle Pictures will handle the home video and transactional rights of PiperFilm’s lineup, starting with Paolo Sorrentino’s “Parthenope.

Italy’s PiperFilm is to take on international sales for several films by leading producer and distributor Eagle Pictures, including Italian box office hitThe Boy With The Pink Trousers, as part of a new collaboration agreement between the two companies.

The partnership will also see Eagle Pictures handle the home video and transactional rights of PiperFilm’s releases, starting with Paolo Sorrentino’s Parthenope.

Distribution, production, and sales company PiperFilm launched last year. Its sales division, run by well-known executive Catia Rossi, will bring a slate of Eagle Films movies to EFM next week.

Starring Addison Timlin and Jeremy Irvine, Fallen follows a young girl as she is sent to a reform school. However, while there, she meets and becomes attracted to an angel seeking her out for thousands of years.

The film was initially released in 2016 and flew under the radar, only grossing $2.5 million at the global box office. It recently made its way to Netflix (which has a lot of big movies releasing in 2025), causing its popularity to skyrocket.

The Outlander spinoff series, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, certainly sounds intriguing, but a couple of additional characters are needed to make the story work. With Claire and Jamie's story coming to a close, it's time to expand this fictional world into new TV shows, and Blood of My Blood is Starz's answer. So far, it has been revealed that the series will bounce between Jamie and Claire's parents—one couple set in the 18th century and the other in the 20th. Blood of My Blood will, therefore, feature an array of new characters, but two that are more familiar would be a meaningful touch.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood will star Jamie Roy and Harriet Slater as Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie, respectively, as well as Hermione Corfield and Jeremy Irvine as Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp. The Outlander series has already revealed tidbits about these characters' stories.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood is the upcoming prequel to Outlander, and the spinoff looks primed to continue the legacy of its parent show with more unique storytelling and authentic romance. On Thursday (January 16), Starz shared the first teaser video of the upcoming season, which introduced us to some of the key players and set out their romances. The clip comes one day before the Season 7 finale of Outlander airs.

Jamie and Claire's story is a romance at its core, but there is so much more to this than just that. It's fantasy and history, drama and romance, but Outlander also bends the expectations of reality. This makes the star-crossed lover's angle so much more impactful because it's clear that these characters never should have found each other—but also couldn't avoid doing so. The first trailer for James Gunn's "Superman" is here, but more heroes than David Corenswet's Man of Steel appear. After all, this movie is launching the new silver screen DC Universe. We'd known from previous casting news which heroes would be appearing in "Superman," and the trailer showed some of them in costume. Among them is Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, one of the many heroes named Green Lantern.

Fillion is a friend of director James Gunn who often appears in his movies. No surprise the actor has a supporting part in "Superman," but Fillion as a Green Lantern is a casting choice that has a lot of history.

In the early 2000s, Nathan Fillion was a popular choice to play Hal Jordan in a "Green Lantern" film; with people even making fanmade trailers with Fillion in the role.

When I saw on Deadline that filming has wrapped on an action thriller called Turbulence, my first thought was, “Is it a remake?” This despite the fact that there have been multiple films with the title Turbulence over the years. I thought it might have something to do with the 1997 film with the title, which starred Lauren Holly as a flight attendant stuck on a plane with a serial killer played by Ray Liotta. As it turns out, the new Turbulence doesn’t have anything to do with that franchise… but it is a hot air balloon thriller that stars Olga Kurylenko (Quantum of Solace) and Kelsey Grammer (Frasier), so it might make for an interesting viewing experience.

Exclusive: Filming has wrapped in the UK on under-the-radar action-thriller Turbulence, starring Olga Kurylenko (Oblivion), Jeremy Irvine (Treadstone), Hera Hilmar (See) and Kelsey Grammer (Frasier).

The film reunites the team behind 2024 action film No Way Up, including director Claudio Faeh (Northmen: A Viking Saga) and writer Andy Mayson, who also produces.

The synopsis reads: “Young married couple Zach and Emmy decide to take a hot air balloon trip across the Italian Dolomites to rekindle their relationship. When they and pilot Harry are joined by a third passenger, Julia, events unfold in ways they could never imagine five thousand meters in the air.”

The film was shot on location in the Dolomites and London, with studio shooting at Twickenham studios. It is now in post-production.

It was announced two years ago that filmmaker Christophe Gans would return to the Silent Hill franchise with the appropriately titled Return to Silent Hill, an adaptation of Silent Hill 2. While that sounds exciting, Bloober Team’s video game remake that was released last month serves as a potent reminder that translating this revered game to screen is an exceedingly tricky task.

The filmmaker adapted the original 1999 video game with 2006’s Silent Hill that mostly adhered to the original game’s plot, remixing a few details for its film adaptation, like swapping out the game’s protagonist of Harry Mason for Radha Mitchell’s Rose Da Silva. It also included the appearance of the franchise’s most iconic monster, Pyramid Head.

The unsettling executioner with a massive rust-hued, pyramid-shaped helmet and unwieldy sword doesn’t actually appear until Silent Hill 2, prompting the game’s fans to cry foul for good reason.

The streamer has acquired medical drama Doc, British crime drama Dope Girls, police thriller Long Bright River, the Jacob Elordi-starring Narrow Road to the Deep North and Outlander prequel Outlander: Blood of My Blood.

Each show will premiere in Spain in 2025, with launch date due to be announced in due course. They were all introduced to buyers at May’s LA Screenings, where they began to create buzz.

Given this deal also includes library film titles, it something of a throwback to the former days of output deals — albeit in a 2024 manner. The 34-year-old actor will star in the new British comedy The Light Fantastic, in which he will play a gay firefighter who pursues a career as a professional ballroom dancer.

The project is based on a true story and also stars the likes of Layton Williams, Rupert Everett and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett.

According to reporting from The Hollywood Reporter, the movie “follows Jason (Irvine), a gay firefighter in his 30s who aspires to become a professional ballroom dancer. Set in Blackpool, the story chronicles his journey of self-discovery as he challenges ballroom traditions under the watchful eye of his traditional instructor Reynolds (Everett).”

The Light Fantastic will be directed by Chris Cottam and features choreography from Mark and Shirley Ballas, a mother-son duo from Dancing With the Stars and Strictly Come Dancing.

BAFTA TV Award winner Chris Cottam is set to direct The Light Fantastic, a new ballroom dance comedy movie starring Jeremy Irvine, Rupert Everett, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, and Layton Williams. Cornerstone will launch worldwide sales for the film at the American Film Market (AFM) in Las Vegas.

Inspired by a true story, The Light Fantastic follows Jason (Irvine), a gay firefighter in his 30s who aspires to become a professional ballroom dancer. Set in Blackpool, the story chronicles his journey of self-discovery as he challenges ballroom traditions under the watchful eye of his traditional instructor Reynolds (Everett).

The film will feature choreography by famed mother-and-son dance duo Mark and Shirley Ballas. He’s a three-time Dancing with the Stars winner, she’s head judge on the British version of the show, Strictly Come Dancing. Debbie Gray (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande) will produce for Genesius Pictures, with principle photographer set to begin in the U.

“Outlander” will wrap up its eight-season run soon, but the timeless love story of Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) will continue on — through the love stories of their parents on “Outlander: Blood of My Blood.” Starz released the first images from the prequel spin-off series Thursday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.

Set in two different time periods, “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” will feature the parallel love stories of Claire’s parents, Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine), and Jamie’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy). Julia and Henry’s story takes place in England during World War I, while Ellen and Brian’s is set the early 18th century Scottish Highlands.

The development of a Green Lantern project has seen some black nights over the years, but the bright green light of day is closer than ever. HBO has given a straight-to-series order for Lanterns, an eight-episode television event first announced as part of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Studios roadmap last year.

True Detective: Night Country executive producer/writer Chris Mundy will serve as showrunner, co-writing alongside Damon Lindelof and Eisner Award-winning comic scribe Tom King (who’s also getting a “based on” credit for the upcoming Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow film). All three will also serve as executive producers on Lanterns, a crime drama centered on the iconic characters Hal Jordan and John Stewart.
