Exclusive: Ahead of the EFM, Blue Fox Entertainment has acquired international sales rights to the recently greenlit sequel to the hit Tubi Original, Sidelined: The Qb and Me, known internationally as The Bad Boy And Me.
Stars Noah Beck and Siena Agudong are reprising their roles. Justin Wu will also return to direct, with Thunderbird Entertainment’s Great Pacific Media, Marshall Arts and Wattpad Webtoon Studios producing. Crystal Ferreiro, who co-wrote the first film with Mary Gulino, will pen the sequel.

Exclusive: PBS Kids has ordered The Day You Begin, an animated special from Atomic Cartoons.
The program is based on Jacqueline Woodson’s bestselling picture book and is now in production at Atomic’s Vancouver studio. The 45-minute special follows four kindergarteners — Angelina, Rigoberto, Oni and Andre — on their first day of school.
The episode is told from each child’s perspective to create an interconnecting narrative in which they all have different experiences in the same classroom and throughout the day at school, learning what makes them unique and what connects them to others.

Aaron L Gilbert and Brenda Gilbert’s Vancouver-based Bron Studios, in town with Kritsen Wiig starrer Welcome To Me, has announced two key hires.
Lori Massini arrives as vp of business and legal affairs while Garrick Dion has been hired as head of development.
Massini has worked almost exclusively in the field of entertainment law, most recently with Chandler Fogden Law Corporation. She will work from Bron’s Vancouver offices.
Dion previously served as svp of development for Bold Films and will continue to be based in Los Angeles. He worked on the development and production of Damien Chazelle’s Toronto selection and double Sundance winner Whiplash, among others.
