NBC has released the official trailer for Suits: LA, a spinoff of the beloved drama series Suits, which aired on USA Network from 2011 to 2019 and starred Patrick J. Adams and the now Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle. Stephen Amell leads Suits: LA as Ted Black, a former New York prosecutor who now runs his own firm in Los Angeles.

With the move to the West Coast, Ted warns, “It’s different out here. People lie. They cheat. They do whatever they can to win,” as we see shots of people breaking things in offices, fighting and apparently taking a bribe. Over the past few years, the USA Network drama series Suits became a hit once again and seemed to be trending everywhere. It gained an entirely new audience thanks to the series becoming available on streaming networks. Because of the resurgence in popularity, it was announced in October 2023 that a spin-off series called Suits LA was in development—and we're now very close to that show's premiere. Here's what we know about the season.

Mid-season and early 2025 premieres have varying schedules this year, with new and returning shows beginning to their seasons throughout January, February, and even into March. For example, NBC's mid-season premiere for the One Chicago trio of shows is early in the year on January 8, but other shows like The Voice and The Americas aren't debuting until February, and Suits LA is on a similar schedule track.

On Friday (November 22), NBC debuted the the teaser for the upcoming series Suits LA, which is scheduled to premiere in February 2025.

While not much is revealed in the video, we do get a glimpse of the new cast, which includes Stephen Amell, Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis, and Bryan Greenberg at the offices in sunny Los Angeles.

In the new series, his firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. In the first teaser for the NBC spinoff series, everything is sunshine and palm trees in the Los Angeles-based law firm where Stephen Amell’s Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, begins working. Outside of the office, Ted and his colleague (Josh McDermitt) can be seen throwing back their heads with laughter at a martini-filled rooftop dinner.

The teaser also nods to the O.G. “Suits” title sequence’s music, featuring Ima Robot’s “Greenback Boogie.”

Not only is the spinoff series set in Los Angeles, but it was also filmed in the sunny city after the production moved from Vancouver, where the NBC procedural first shot its pilot, to SoCal earlier this year.

NBC’s 2025 midseason lineup includes the series premieres of Suits LA starring Heels‘ Stephen Amell, The Hunting Party with Manifest‘s Melissa Roxburgh, and Grosse Pointe Garden Society starring AnnaSophia Robb. The midseason schedule also includes a new season of The Voice with Kelsea Ballerini, John Legend, Michael Bublé, and returning original coach Adam Levine.

The first season of Zachary Quinto’s Brilliant Minds picks up on January 6th, and Deal or No Deal Island season two kicks off on January 7th. January 2025 also marks the release of new episodes of The Irrational, Night Court, and St. Denis Medical, along with Law & Order, Svu, Found, Lopez vs. Lopez, and Happy’s Place.

NBC’s set a February 23, 2025 premiere date for the 10-part nature documentary series The Americas, narrated by Oscar winner Tom Hanks.

Suits fans have finally received the news they have been hoping for. A star from the original legal drama series will appear on the Suits LA spin-off, which will premiere on NBC in February.

The actor, who starred in Suits as suave and successful lawyer Harvey Specter, is returning for the show’s Los Angeles-set spinoff.

Macht posted a video on his Instagram seemingly confirming that he would be appearing in the upcoming series starring Stephen Amell.

“When an old friend is in need…it’s time to take care of things and make those very ‘things’ right,” he wrote in the caption of a video set to the Suits theme song, “Greenback Boogie.” The brief clip sees him wearing a white button-down shirt with the initials “H.S.” engraved on the sleeve and brown formal shoes with the name “Harvey” inside.

The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to NBC for comment.
