Netflix has canceled “Ashley Garcia: Genius in Love” and “The Big Show Show,” starring WWE Superstar The Big Show, and after one season apiece, TheWrap has learned.
The streaming service will release one more episode of both multi-cam sitcoms this December, as standalone Christmas specials for “Ashley Garcia” and “Big Show Show” had already been filmed ahead of the pandemic, an individual with knowledge of the situation tells TheWrap. These episodes do not continue storylines from the previous seasons.
All existing episodes of “The Big Show Show” and “Ashley Garcia: Genius In Love” will continue to be available for streaming on Netflix.
Led by The Big Show — real name Paul Wight — “The Big Show Show” is a fictionalized version of the pro-wrestler’s own life. Here’s its official synopsis for the eight-episode show: “When the teenage daughter of The Big Show, a retired world-famous WWE Superstar comes to live with him,...

Both “The Big Show Show” and “Ashley Garcia: Genius in Love” have not been renewed at Netflix.

“The Big Show Show” starred WWE star Paul “The Big Show” Wight as a fictionalized version of himself living with his wife and three daughters. The series also starred Allison Munn,Reylynn Caster, Juliet Donenfeld, and Lily Brooks O’Briant.

Exclusive: Netflix has opted not to order second seasons of multi-camera family sitcoms Ashley Garcia: Genius in Love and The Big Show Show.
Fans will get one more original episode of each shows as the streamer had commissioned special Christmas episodes of both comedies to be released this December.
These are not series finales. The special stand-alone Christmas episodes were filmed before the pandemic and do not continue the storylines from the previous seasons.
The produced episodes of Ashley Garcia and The Big Show Show will continue to be available on Netflix. Multi-camera comedy is probably the genre most dependable on cast chemistry. That is something that can be tested in a pilot, something that does not fit into Netflix’s model, which is built on straight-to-series orders.

Netflix and WWE have unveiled the trailer for their upcoming family comedy “The Big Show Show” starring WWE Superstar The Big Show, whose real name is Paul Wight.
In “The Big Show Show,” The Big Show plays The Big Show — and also a husband and dad, just like in real life.
Here’s the logline:
When the teenage daughter of The Big Show, a retired world-famous WWE Superstar, comes to live with him, his wife and two other daughters, he quickly becomes outnumbered and outsmarted. Despite being 7 feet tall and weighing 400 pounds, he is no longer the center of attention.

Losing "Happy Endings" totes sooks. But in the complicated world of television, this may not be the end.
When ABC pulled the plug on "Happy Endings" after three seasons and lots of scheduling moves, USA Network emerged as a frontrunner to save the beloved comedy. But when that fell through, Sony tried to find the show a new home. Sadly, that was unsuccessful as well. "We don’t know the specifics; that's all sort of above our pay grade. But there were ongoing talks with a lot of places. It just didn’t work out," "Happy Endings" creator David Caspe told TVLine. "The truth is, how many shows have moved networks ever? It’s very difficult to do, and there’s probably some financial algorithmic reason for that that I don’t even understand."
While canceled shows usually don't move networks -- it's only been done a handful of times with shows like "Cougar Town,...

"Happy Endings" was known for its quick-fire jokes, but for every joke that made it into the show, there was a whole mess of ones that didn't.
Former "Happy Endings" writer Jason Berger took to Twitter to share a bunch of them.

"Happy Endings" was dumped by ABC after three seasons, but there was hope the show would live on. Despite rumors of "Happy Endings" moving to USA, the show did not find a new home and the cast was released from their contracts.
