BBC America has announced its new Thirteen TV series premieres Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 10:00pm Et/Pt. The five-part series kicks off the week after Orphan Black's fourth season finale. Thirteen is written by creator Marnie Dickens and directed by China Moo-Young and Vanessa Casill, with Elizabeth Kilgarriff executive producing.

The cast of Thirteen includes: Jodie Comer, Natasha Little, Stuart Graham, Katherine Rose Morley, Richard Rankin, Valene Kane, Aneurin Barnard, Joe Layton, Eleanor Wyld, and Nicholas Farrell. Thirteen follows Ivy Moxam (Comer), on the day she escapes from the cellar where she has been held captive for 13 years.

My Mad Fat Diary actress Jodie Comer has signed up to star in a brand new BBC Three series.

Thirteen sees Comer playing 26-year-old Ivy Moxam, who escapes from the cellar that's been her prison for the last 13 years and returns home to her family.

The psychological drama is written by Marnie Dickens and directed by Vanessa Caswill and China Moo-Young.

"I am beyond excited to be working with the BBC as part of the cast of Thirteen," Comer said. "Marnie Dickens's writing is truly remarkable, and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to bring Ivy to life.

"Imagine the most unimaginable happening. Life turning completely on its head, with the actions of one person affecting so many lives.

For here we have a low-budget — I’m gonna guess ultra-low-budget — little British tale from a slightly parallel universe where everyone has a “frequency.” High frequency correlates with good luck and “nature” working hard to give you “everything you want”; low frequency correlates with klutziness and doofiness and general bad luck.
