Christmas Eve at Rocko’s Diner in Philadelphia finds a menu short on holiday spirit for four struggling strangers stuck during a snowstorm. Heaven Down Here is inspired by the 2020 country hit of the same name by Mickey Guyton, who executive produces the Hallmark movie and, says fellow executive producer Laurie Pozmantier, “gave us tidbits into her personal life and her husband’s personal life [for the story].” Those tales include worried widow Imani (Krystal Joy Brown), a broke waitress separated from her two children when grumpy boss Dan (Richard Harmon) forces her to work the holiday. During the night, Imani bonds with earnest diner Father Felix (Juan Riedinger), who has regrets involving his estranged adult son. “You don’t usually look at a pastor thinking that they’ve got something going on, but [Felix] needs advice too,” Pozmantier says. Luke Macfarlane is well known for his comedy and Hallmark offerings, while Kirsten Vangsness is well known for hunting down the bad guys on Criminal Minds.

The pair join forces for Amish Stud: The Eli Weaver Story, which finds the couple plotting a murder.

The Lifetime original movie premieres Saturday, September 30, at 8 p.m. on the cabler and focuses on an affair gone wrong.

The flick revisits the story of a man who called himself "Amish Stud" and his plan with his mistress to murder his wife, to the horror of his conservative Amish community.

Amish Stud is based on the book A Killing in Amish Country: Sex, Betrayal and a Cold-Blooded Murder by bestselling authors Gregg Olsen and Rebecca Morris.

"Devoted to her husband, kids, and faith, Barbara Weaver (Miranda MacDougall) was content leading a traditional life in her conservative Ohio Amish community -- with no modern conveniences," the logline teases.

NBC is developing God’s Country, a drama inspired by Blake Shelton’s hit song of the same name. The project hails from the long-time Voice coach Shelton, Las Vegas creator Gary Scott Thompson and Universal Television.

Written by Thompson, in God’s Country, when the patriarch of a hardworking Midwestern farm family dies mysteriously in a car accident, his grown children discover he was keeping a devastating secret they could never have imagined.

Shelton’s song “God’s Country”, written by Devin Dawson, Hardy and Jordan Schmidt, was released in March 2019. It has gone triple platinum and won Single of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards last week. The song’s official video has been viewed more than 114M times on YouTube alone.
