Spoiler: This post contains details about the Season 2 premiere of Severance.
As Severance returns to office, fans might recognize a familiar voice welcoming them back to the show’s surreal corporate life.
Series creator Dan Erickson recently explained how Keanu Reeves came to make a voice cameo as the building during the ‘Lumon is Listening’ video in the Apple TV+ sci-fi series’ Season 2 premiere.
“All I can say is that we talked about a couple of different people for that role,” he told Collider. “We always wanted it to be somebody that people have certain associations with, but also, it had to be a very warm presence. The Lumon building is very friendly in the context of this video, and there’s a friendliness to that particular voice and a heart to that particular voice.”

Warning! This article contains Spoilers for Severance season 2, episode 1Severance season 2 is everything I expected it would be and more. Before getting into the episode, it's important to note that season 1 was released back in 2022. Due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes, work on the show was delayed, and we're only now getting season 2. I've had an issue with this era of streaming shows where projects debut to massive success and then disappear for a couple of years or more before returning. This can lead to interest waning, especially for shows just starting. Luckily, Severance allows us to adjust to its in-universe changes.
Severance is a psychological thriller series featuring Adam Scott as Mark Scout, an employee at Lumon Industries who undergoes a "severance" procedure to separate his work and personal memories. However, as work and life personas mysteriously begin to collide, it quickly becomes clear that not all is as it seems.

[This story contains major spoilers from Severance season one.]
Severance returns to Apple TV+ this week, after nearly three years away from the screen. Don’t remember what happened in Dan Erickson and Ben Stiller‘s riveting drama that combines the mysterious intrigue of Lost with the corporate nonsense of The Office? Well, you should really do something about that! If you don’t have time to rewatch season one (which you’re strongly recommended to do before hitting play on season two), we got you covered. Here’s all you need to remember before Severance comes back online.
Severance focuses on Mark Scout (Adam Scott), a widower who copes with his grief by completely shutting it down for an entire nine-to-five work day. He’s “severed,” which means, a chip in his brain blocks Mark from accessing his memories at work. He clocks in, then clocks out, as if nothing happened at all. Except, something...

The second season of Severance, which debuts tonight on Apple TV+, proves that the corporate sci-fi drama has still got it. The Lumon offices have moved to New York City. Leading stars of Apple TV’s Severance appeared for a bit of performance art in Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Station this week.
Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Patricia Arquette and Tramell Tillman all appeared as their Severance characters for the event on Tuesday, with producer-director Ben Stiller on hand to take pictures. The pop-up featured a real-life cubicle from the iconic office space of Apple’s show, which returns with season two on Friday.
During the initial pop-up on Tuesday, the actors entered the cubicle, cleaned the office’s carpets, chatted with each other and worked at the desk computers. Stiller posted several images from the scene to his social media, writing, “Grand Central right now.” Per Apple, several of the set pieces and wardrobe were original pieces from the show’s filming.

Three years can go by in the blink of an eye — especially in the world of “Severance.” Apple TV’s marvelous thriller premiered in 2022 and returns on January 17, picking up from a massive cliffhanger that left audiences breathless.

Severance season 2 has now debuted on Rotten Tomatoes, and the score beats that of the near-perfect season 1. Created by Dan Erickson, the hit Apple TV+ mystery series premiered in 2022, following Adam Scott's Mark Scout, an employee at Lumon Industries who has had his work memories surgically separated from his personal ones. After a glowing response to season 1 and repeated delays, expectations for Severance season 2 are high, and the first reviews for the new season have suggested that it will be worth the wait.
To accompany these positive early reviews, Rotten Tomatoes now reveals that Severance season 2 has debuted to a perfect 100% score with 33 reviews, as of writing. This score means that season 2 is now ahead of season 1, which has a 97% score with 116 reviews. It's worth noting, however, that season 2's score could fluctuate as more reviews are added.

When Severance premiered in 2022, it was unlike anything else on television. From its meticulous production design to its mystery box plot, it was a series that felt firmly of its time in its exploration of labor and workplace misery while having the vibe of a delicious throwback thanks to its mid-century modern look and the timeless quality of its central conceit.
From director and executive producer Ben Stiller and creator Dan Erickson comes “Severance.” Mark Scout (Adam Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. At the start of James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown, a young, determined-looking Bob Dylan (played by Timothée Chalamet) arrives in the Greenwich Village of 1961. He’s immediately thrust into an urban jumble of coffeehouses, bars, zigzagging streets, and tiny city apartments, even if New Jersey locales stood in for the Village.

“Severance” Season 2 will be remembered as one of the greatest moments of this planet. Over the weekend, Apple TV+ dropped a trailer for the long-awaited new season of its Emmy-winning sci-fi thriller, and if it’s an accurate reflection of what the season holds, it’s going to be a magnificent escalation of the series.
In the trailer, the “innies” of Lumon Industries go back to work after the game-changing events of the Season 1 finale, where they blew the whistle on the cruel conditions the people who have undergone the “severance” process live under inside of Lumon. They’re all trying to figure out what’s really going on inside and outside of Lumon, but “innie” Mark Scout (Adam Scott) has a particular goal: free Ms. Casey (Dichen Lachman) from inside of Lumon and return her to “outie” Mark, her husband who thinks she’s dead. If you thought Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger, then it looks like we'll be right back on that cliff, still hanging, when S2 begins. Check out the trailer below:

If you thought something was off about the office space of Lumon Industries in season one, wait until you see what’s hiding behind the doors in season two of Severance. We still have until next month to see just what happens on the next season of Apple TV+’s Severance, but in the meantime, we at least have the trailer to drop some clues for the Innies.
The trailer for season two of Severance – which arrived out of Comic Con Experience in Brazil – also builds on some of the highlights of the teaser that was released in October, chiefly featuring more footage of some key newcomers, including Bob Balaban and Alia Shawkat, along with Sarah Bock and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson. In addition to them, the sophomore outing will once again include Adam Scott, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette, and more, but it will also add.

Mark Scout’s two worlds start to collide in the trailer for “Severance” Season 2, which shows the Lumon employee searching for his dead wife — who, of course, is not actually dead.
“My outie’s wife died a few years ago. Except, the woman is Ms. Casey,” Mark (Adam Scott) tells his co-workers as they compare their brief experiences in the outside world. “We gotta get her out of here.”
Season 2 finds Mark, Helly (Britt Lower), Dylan (Zach Cherry) and Irving (John Turturro) returning to Lumon after the so-called Overtime Contingency Protocol awakens their in-office selves outside of work. At the end of Season 1, Dylan learned he had a child, Irving suffered heartbreak after seeing Burt (Christopher Walken) is married, Helly discovered she is the daughter of Lumon’s CEO and Mark figured out his wife is alive — somewhere inside the office.

Apple TV+ has finally released the trailer for “Severance” Season 2, and we are so in(nie).
In “Severance,” Adam Scott’s Mark Scout (“Mark S.” at work) leads a team at Lumon Industries, where employees have undergone an elective — but controversial — surgery that divides their memories between their work and personal lives. Basically, the Work You (your “Innie”) never exists outside of the office, and your home half (“Outtie”) never knows work. It’s kind of cool for the latter but an absolute torturous existence for the former. The series itself is top notch.
Toward the end of Season 1, Mark and his three close colleagues make some monumental discoveries about what may really being going on inside Lumon HQ. In Season 2, the coworkers “learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe,” per Apple TV+.

Nearly two years after the show debuted, the wait for Severance‘s return is nearly over.
With Season 2 of the 7x Emmy-nominated Apple TV+ sci-fi series premiering Jan. 17, creator Dan Erickson and EP/director Ben Stiller explained that the Hollywood strikes were only partially to blame for the delays.
“It took a while to write season two,” Stiller recently told Vanity Fair. “Then we started to shoot in October of 2022, and we got shut down by the strike in May [2023]. At that point, we had completed about 7 of our 10 episodes, and then we had to regroup after the strike. It takes us a while to prep the show. And so, we didn’t start shooting until January [2024]. Then we shot from January to May to finish the last three episodes.”

Ben Stiller knows that “Severance” Season 2 has taken much longer than fans hoped. Turns out, production began way back in 2022, but the world of Innies and Outies was put on pause due to a series of external factors.
Stiller, who directs five episodes of the second season and serves as an executive producer, told Vanity Fair that a majority of the season was completed before the strikes in 2023. Now, “Severance” Season 2 premieres January 17, 2025.

The tween girl with cerebral palsy at the heart of “Out of My Mind” would certainly dislike being called inspiring. She makes it crystal clear she hates pity, or anything resembling empty expressions of sympathy. Yet the filmmakers behind the Disney Original, based on Sharon M. Draper’s novel, cast her as the quintessential inspirational movie heroine, there to teach the able-bodied how to treat her disability with respect and empathy. While overall this might serve as a good teaching tool to impact the way disabilities are approached by the medical and educational community, the protagonist’s construction begs for an arc that’s strangely missing from this otherwise sharp feature.

Out of My Mind is a touching story about a young woman's struggle to be heard due to people's frequent dismissal of her abilities and intellect. Throughout the film, Melody Brooks proves her incredible and indomitable will, despite setbacks and challenges. In addition, the movie forces us to consider our own preconceptions, as it highlights that differences do not equal a lack of ability, but rather a disconnection in understanding.
Out of My Mind, directed by Amber Sealey, follows Melody Brooks, a non-verbal sixth grader with cerebral palsy, as she navigates mainstream education. We've been waiting on this for the past three years, but Severance finally returns to Apple TV+ with its highly anticipated second season on January 17. Now, we have a trailer (via SFFGazette.com) and it raises some big questions about how this next batch of episodes will deal with season 1's massive cliffhanger.
In the sneak peek, Adam Scott's Mark S. returns to the office after his "innie" got a taste of the outside world and learned his wife, who he believed had died in a car accident, is working in Lumon as wellness counsellor Ms. Casey.
After coming face-to-face with a new gang of employees, the sinister and creepy Milchick welcomes Mark back to work with some very interesting-looking balloons.
Directed and executive produced by Ben Stiller and created, written and executive produced by Dan Erickson, the 10-episode second seasob will debut globally on Apple TV+ with the first episode on Friday,...

It's been well over two years since we last checked in on Mark (Adam Scott), Dylan (Zach Cherry), Irving (John Turturro), and Helly (Britt Lower), four "severed" workers toiling away in the basements of Lumen Industries, doing they know not what. For reasons we have yet to fully understand, the foursome underwent a procedure that made it so they remember nothing of their outside lives while at work, and vice versa. They've basically been split into two people: their work selves and their home selves, and their work selves have gotten pretty freaking tired of devoting the whole of their existance to labor.
The first season ended with a thrilling cliffhanger where the work personalities escaped into the real world, if only briefly. What happens next? Well, in the trailer, Mark S. finds himself back in the bowels of Lumen, racing through the eerily samey hallways until he bursts back...
