"Justified" captures the essence of modern Western with its unique Kentucky setting and classic gun-slinging atmosphere. The official theme song, "Long Hard Times to Come" by Gangstagrass, perfectly sets the tone of the show's thematic clash. "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive" by Darrell Scott is considered the true theme song of Justified, playing in every season finale.
The Justified theme song may officially be the tune performed at the top of every episode by Gangstagrass, but there's another recurring song that captures the show's true theme. The six seasons of Justified and the sequel series, Justified: City Primeval follow U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) mostly in his home county of Harlan. There, he exacts his own brand of justice in the adaptation of the Elmore Leonard novels that also stars Walton Goggins, Erica Tazel, and plenty of guest actors who have fleshed out the world of Justified.

Exclusive: Desean Terry (The Morning Show) and Nikkole Salter are partnering to adapt and executive produce Salter’s play Lines in the Dust into a feature film under Terry’s Think Switch Entertainment banner. Terry is also set to direct.
Loosely inspired by real-life cases, Lines in the Dust shines a light on the issue of school residency fraud against the backdrop of Newark, NJ. The play, like its film adaptation, delves into this silent crime prevalent across America, particularly in communities of color. The film will tell the story of a Black woman facing prosecution for this crime, highlighting the systemic inequities and challenges faced by marginalized communities in accessing quality education for their children.
Salter, a Los Angeles-born, Obie Award-winning actress and dramatist, arrived onto the scene with her co-authorship and co-performance with Danai Gurira (Black Panther) of the Pulitzer Prize-nominated play In the Continuum.

Samuel L. Jackson, Jeffrey Wright, and David Oyelowo have all portrayed civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr., whose Atlanta sit-ins, Montgomery bus boycotts, and peaceful protests desegregated the nation. When Kelvin Harrison Jr. was first offered the role, he was overwhelmed by the weight of the historical figure and turned it down.
“I still was a little bit scared and unsure if that was something that I needed to be participating in,” Harrison tells Rolling Stone. “I didn’t really see what I could offer in this moment, and...

This post contains spoilers for the finale of "Justified: City Primeval."
When "Justified: City Primeval" signed off last night, the limited series finale was expected to be the final word on Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant). After all, fans of the straight-shooting, contemplative modern cowboy got six seasons with the character, plus a surprise bonus in the form of the revival series -- an adaptation of an Elmore Leonard story that didn't originally feature Raylan. And isn't that enough? Wouldn't it be greedy for us to ask for more time in this stylish, thrilling world?
Not according to the show itself. In an exhilarating surprise epilogue, "Justified: City Primeval" ended with a fantastic cliffhanger, bringing crime kingpin (and Raylan's ex-friend) Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) back into the fray in typical over-the-top fashion and putting an immediate question mark on the end of Raylan's early retirement. The final scene,...

Fans of the FX series Justified were fortunate enough to get six prodigious seasons of one of the best neo-Westerns ever put on television from 2010-2015. The show’s critical success was in no small part due to the stellar supporting cast throughout its run. Fans not only gravitated towards Timothy Olyphant’s Kentucky-fried charm as the no-nonsense Raylan Givens, but found a connection with the men and women Raylan worked with, the women he loved, and the larger-than-life outlaws he came across.
It will surprise many to hear that Justified: City Primeval barely even mentions Kentucky, or the characters that were a part of Raylan’s life for those six years. Kentucky is far behind Raylan, and that includes his long term fraternal-nemesis, Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) who isn’t a part of this limited series. There is no mention of Art (Nick Searcy), Tim (Jacob Pitts) or Rachel...

"Honestly, this whole thing comes as a complete shock to me." What did they do at summer camp?! Rlje Films has released the official trailer for a thriller called Always and Forever, the latest film from the director of You Got Served - Chris Stokes. This looks a bit like I Know What You Did Last Summer, but more of a suspenseful thriller than horror. After a tragedy reunites Nicole with her childhood friends, they each find themselves in danger, targets of a deranged stalker. Nicole knows this can't be a coincidence. The secrets of their past are coming back to haunt them. Starring Cynthia Addai-Robbinson as Nicole, with Robbie Jones, Lauren London, Wood Harris, Loretta Devine, Rocsi Diaz, Erica Tazel, Vanessa Curry, and Deborah Ayorinde. Not so sure this looks any good. If these kind of melodramatic "we all did something we wish we could take back" suspense films are you jam,...

Spoiler Alert: This article contains details about Sunday night’s season finale of Lovecraft Country.
Ever since Misha Green unleashed the wonder that is Lovecraft Country to the world in August, she, along with an all-star roster of writers and directors has immersed us in the Lccu: The Lovecraft Country Cinematic Universe. The series played out like an anthology of sorts that connect to create a 10-hour movie. Each episode is an origin story for each character — who could easily be a superhero — and tonight, we saw what is the series’ equivalent to Avengers: Endgame, with Jonathan Majors’ Atticus being Iron Man.
Directed by Nelson McCormick and written by Green (read Dominic Patten’s interview about the finale here), the episode was appropriately titled “Full Circle” and picks up immediately after episode 9. Diana (Jada Harris) has been cursed by the...

The Good Fight will be saying goodbye to attorney Luca Quinn. Cush Jumbo, who originated the role in the mothership series The Good Wife before moving to the CBS All Access spinoff in season 1, is exiting the series ahead of the upcoming fifth season, Deadline has confirmed.
The season 4 storyline for Jumbo’s Quinn was cut short by three episodes due to the Covid-19 production shutdown.
“I have had the most amazing time over the last five years working with Robert, Michelle and the crews of both The Good Wife and The Good Fight,” said Jumbo in a statement provided to Deadline. ‘I will miss them all so much, but am so excited to explore pastures new. Due to the pandemic forcing us to shut down early we weren’t able to wrap up Lucca’s story fully and so I hope if schedules allow I can return next season to do that.

Today at CBS All Access’ executive session at TCA, Evp Original Content Julie McNamara was asked to comment on the streamer’s pay dispute with Julianna Margulies when it came to reprising her Good Wife character on the spinoff The Good Fight.
This past spring, Julianna Margulies told Deadline that she was offered a guest-star rate for The Good Fight, and that the network didn’t want to shell out for the higher fee she earned on The Good Wife.
“We love Julianna, and there’s a long history there. We wanted her to guest on The Good Fight. There was a different expectation as to what that means. It didn’t work out. We have another project in development with her to star. We’d love to see her on the service in the future,” McNamara said Thursday.

Bid a fond farewell to Rose Leslie, aka lawyer Maia Rindell on the CBS All Access drama The Good Fight. After three seasons of order in the court, she’s not returning for Season 4.
TVLine broke the story out of Comic-Con after speaking to series creators Robert and Michelle King, who told the media outlet that Season 3’s finale was Leslie’s swan song. In that episode, she was sent to Washington, DC to launch a new firm with Michael Sheen’s Roland Blum.
The series has shifted in its tone from its original straight legal drama, and Leslie joins fellow originals Justin Bartha and Erica Tazel as the victims of that pivot.
Leslie is married to Game of Thrones hero Kit Harington. Now, both are hitting the bricks and looking for work.
The Good Fight‘s 10-episode fourth season will arrive next year.
