Now streaming on VOD and Digital, Sanctioning Evil is a new action-thriller directed by Ante Novakovic and written by Kyle Travis Sharp. The film follows Sergeant Barnes, who was dishonorably discharged from the military following an incident with one of his soldiers. Expanding Los Angeles-based distributor Safier Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights to the comedic holiday feature “Christmas Vs. the Walters” out of the Cannes Film Market.

The ensemble film is led by Oscar nominee Bruce Dern, “30 Rock” regular and “Oz” actor Dean Winters, “Saw” franchise star Shawnee Smith and Emmy-winning “Schitt’s Creek” star Chris Elliott.

Promised a wide theatrical release on Nov. 5 before heading to paid VOD and digital sell-through, the film is directed by genre helmer Peter D’Amato. He penned the script with Ante Novakovic.

“Christmas Vs. the Walters” sees Smith as the perfectionist expectant mother Diane Walters, who spends each year planning the ideal Christmas holiday. Tobias Truvillion (Hitch), Taryn Manning (Orange is the New Black), Zach McGowan (Shameless), Chris Tardio (Younger) and Tasha Lawrence (The Looming Tower) have been tapped to star in Sanctioning Evil, an indie action-thriller from Jars Media Group and Novakovic Brothers Films.

Directed by Ante Novakovic, the story centers on Staff Sgt. Barnes (Truvillion), a recently discharged Army veteran who finds his way back into society via a charismatic congressman named Ambrose (McGowan). Barnes and Ambrose walk a fine line between covert military operations on civilian soil and unsanctioned retribution toward an underground criminal element, all while being tracked by FBI special agent Kensington (Manning).

In the graphic two rotting lovebirds hold onto each other, as they stare blankly ever onward. The tagline announces: "Zombies are people too!!," with a mysterious yellow haze keeping these two oblivious to their misfortune. One flick we've had our eyes on for a while now is the new zombie comedy from Matthew Kohnen entitled Aaah! Zombies!!, and in just a few short weeks this baby is coming home for mass consumption!

Let's face it. Horror is an easy genre to create a film for. We did it when I was in high school on a no-string budget and the film (although gawd awful) was still entertaining and you know what, it's probably better than some of the dollar bin dreck out there to this day...

So you take the ease of film making and add that to the fact that people love zombies and whamo, you have the world shooting zombie movies. So for every thousand zombie movies you see only a rare few are true gems. Thus is the case with director Matthew Kohnen's latest horror comedy aptly named, "Aaah! Zombies!!" (two exclamation points).

Starring Matthew Davis, Michael Grant Terry, Colby French, Betsy Beutler, Julianna Robinson, and Joel McCrary, "Aaah! Zombies!!" separates itself from the fray by telling the story from the zombies point of view. Feast on the trailer and poster below.

There's no doubt the horror market is kind of saturated with zombie movies right now, and we have to admit we really don't mind because we love ourselves some undead mayhem, but it can get a bit tiresome. New trailer for a new zombie comedy! New!

The upcoming zombie comedy Aaah! Zombies!! is a new twist on the genre, with the movie taking the point-of-view of four friends — Matthew Davis (The Vampire Diaries, Blue Crush), Julianna Robinson, Betsy Beutler (Scrubs), and Michael Terry (Bones) — as they discover they have been inadvertently turned into zombies due to a toxic waste spill (weren't the 80's great?), only they are the only ones who can't see their zombification.

The movie premiered at the La ScreamFest in 2007 (Audience Award winner) under the title Wasting Away, but will finally get released under its new title on DVD September 28 by Level 33 Entertainment.
