The surprise success of 2022's Orphan: First Kill has opened the door for another sequel, and there are already exciting updates about Orphan 3. The series stars Isabelle Fuhrman as Esther, a murderous con woman who disguises herself as a nine-year-old girl. Serving as a prequel to Orphan, Orphan: First Kill was set a little over a decade before its predecessor. There's something wrong with Esther ... again! In the biggest "hell yeah" news of the day, Variety is reporting that a third film in the "Orphan" franchise is on the way, and Isabelle Fuhrman will once again play Esther, everyone's favorite killer "kid." Fuhrman made her Esther debut in Jaume Collet-Serra's delightfully lurid 2009 horror-thriller "Orphan," about a couple (played by scream queen Vera Farmiga and Peter Sarsgaard) who adopt a 9-year-old girl from Russia. The child, Esther, seems polite and sweet ... at first. Eventually, the audience sees that Esther is a full-blown psycho, willing to kill anyone who gets in her way. But this was no mere "killer kid" horror movie, folks! In a whopper of a twist, it's revealed that Esther is actually Leena Klammer, a woman in her 30s who only appears to be a child due to hypopituitarism.
The end of "Orphan" saw Esther/Leena defeated and killed,...

The fact that we received a prequel to the 2009 thriller Orphan in 2022 was mind-boggling – especially since the surprisingly entertaining Orphan: First Kill still starred Isabelle Fuhrman as Leena Klammer / Esther, an adult serial killer from Estonia who is able to pass herself off as a 9 year old kid. Looking 9 was easy for Fuhrman when she made the first movie, because she was a child at the time… but now she’s an adult, and the filmmakers had to try to figure out how to make her look like a kid again for the prequel. It worked well enough, and the movie went over well enough with viewers (you can read our review Here), that we started hearing rumblings of an Orphan 3 around the end of last year – and now it’s official. Lionsgate has announced, via Variety, that they’ve officially given the greenlight to Orphan 3!

Mark Wahlberg continues to be a major presence in Hollywood movies, particularly in the action genre. Though it was Boogie Nights (1997) that served as Wahlberg's big break, he would go on to star in films like The Italian Job (2003), Four Brothers (2005), Shooter (2007), and 2 Guns (2013). And not all of these films have been one-offs. Wahlberg appeared in two of Michael Bay's Transformers movies as Cade Yeager.
In addition to action, however, Wahlberg has been a mainstay in the comedy genre, often mixing the two together. Wahlberg starred in Spencer Confidential in 2020, which became a major hit for Netflix. Continuing his foray into streaming action-comedies, Wahlberg appeared in Apple TV+'s The Family Plan in 2023 and Netflix's The Union in 2024, both of which were also viewership hits, even if critics weren't impressed.

Apple Original Films has announced that Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan are set to return for a sequel to The Family Plan. The 2023 action comedy follows Dan Morgan, a suburban dad and car salesman whose secret past as an elite government assassin comes back to haunt him. Mark Wahlberg will fire up the minivan again, returning as a government assassin turned suburban dad in a sequel to “The Family Plan.”
Apple Original Films announced that the follow-up is in development with Wahlberg set to produce, as well as act in the picture. His co-stars Michelle Monaghan, Zoe Colletti and Van Crosby will also reprise their roles as the various members of the Morgan family with Simon Cellan Jones, director of the action-comedy, set to return.
Critics mostly hated on “The Family Plan,” but audiences appeared to embrace it. Apple in a breathless announcement devoid of things like meaningful data said that the film was “the most viewed movie in Apple TV+ history.” It was later supplanted by the George Clooney and Brad Pitt action-comedy “Wolfs,” which the service, with a similar lack of statistical evidence, recently enthused had taken the “most viewed movie in Apple TV+ history” crown.

The project is coming in full throttle with a screenplay by David Coggeshall, who wrote action comedy The Family Plan for the streaming and tech giant, and Jonathan Tropper, the author and scribe who wrote the Ryan Reynolds action-adventure feature The Adam Project.
Matchbox is the toy brand first created in 1953 and acquired by Mattel in 1997. Mattel competed with Matchbox in the die-cast car space with its own line, Hot Wheels. The Deliverance is one of the most anticipated horror films of 2024. Directed by Lee Daniels from a screenplay co-written by David Coggeshall and Elijah Bynum, the Netflix mystery horror film is inspired by a true story known as the Ammons haunting case. The real story on which the film is based took place in Gary, Indiana in 2011 and it revolved around Latoya Ammons, her mother, Rosa Campbell, and her three children.
The real has been changed to make the film good and not boring but there are many scenes in the film that are based on Ammons’ claims, one of which is the one where a child crawls backward up a hospital wall.

Netflix's The Deliverance is struggling to satisfy its critics. Inspired by a real-world haunting in Gary, Indiana, the movie follows Andra Day as Ebony Jackson as she works to keep her family together while facing the horror of demonic possession. The Deliverance boasts a stellar cast, which includes Day, Oscar-nominee Glenn Close, fellow nominee Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin. Unfortunately, it has not enjoyed much love from its viewers.
The Deliverance has seen nothing but disappointment on Rotten Tomatoes. It sits at a 34% score on the Tomatometer and a 53% score on the audience-led Popcornmeter. Both scores have earned it Rotten designations, as the majority of viewers were displeased by the story. Reviewers cite a painfully slow pace, a clichd narrative, and the melodramatic characters as explanations for their poor reviews.

After being an executive producer on the BET+ supernatural horror film The Reading, Oscar-nominated director Lee Daniels decided to try his hand at making his own horror flick. That horror movie is The Deliverance, which has just been released on Netflix after a limited theatrical release.
Like The Reading, The Deliverance is a supernatural horror film. It was helmed by Daniels from a screenplay co-written by David Coggeshall and Elijah Bynum. It's inspired by the horrifying true story of Latoya Ammons, a single mother who claimed that she and her family had experienced a series of supernatural experiences in their Gary, Indiana, home.
In The Deliverance, we follow Ebony Jackson, a struggling single mother trying to make ends meet. In search of a fresh start, Ebony moves her family into a new home in Pittsburgh. However, shortly after moving in, the family begins to experience strange, demonic occurrences. These increasingly...

Lee Daniels' new Netflix movie "The Deliverance" is trying to be two things at once. For most of its runtime, it's a down-to-earth family drama with an unapologetically prickly protagonist. Then, the film descends into the hoariest of cliches as it turns into a heavily religious possession horror pic, complete with potty-mouthed demons and children contorting their bodies in unnatural ways. Neither of these approaches are particularly successful together, although the family drama stuff works much, much better than the horror movie trappings. Billing itself as being based on true events (sure), "The Deliverance" is at its best when its focusing on its flawed main character. That would be single mother Ebony Jackson, played with real grit by Andra Day, who starred in Daniels' "The United States vs. Billie Holiday."
Ebony is not a likable character, and the film isn't afraid to lean into that. She drinks too much, and...
