Jaya Bachchan, Arya, and Anushka Shetty in Irandam Ulagam (2013)
Movie: "Irandam Ulagam"; Cast: Arya and Anushka Shetty; Director: Selvaraghavan; Rating: **

Selvaraghavan's fascination for romance has been evident since his maiden film and he has always approached it in his own style, contrary to how love stories have been captured on celluloid over the years.

All his love stories so far have been received well by audiences and have been lauded for maintaining realism in their portrayal. However, In "Irandam Ulagam", Selva complicates a simple love story in his attempt to merge romance and fantasy genres, only to give the audience an unbearable experience.

The film's tagline.

Andrea joins dance classes
Actress Andrea is busy shaking her legs day and night. Know what? The actress has joined a dance class to develop the skills. Making her debut with ‘Pacchaikili Muthucharam’, Andrea never had an opportunity to dance. Even in the most overpowering song of ‘Oh Eesa’ of ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’, it was Reema Sen, who had more footage to dance. However, Andrea hasn’t given up the hope and is now vigorously gaining those skills.

The actress is now shooting for her upcoming film ‘Idhu Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam’, in which she shares the screen space with Dhanush. The film is directed by Selvaraghavan and is produced by his father Kasthoori Raja under the banner of Rk Productions.

The rumors about her affairs with Selvaraghavan have slightly got trivialized on its course and maybe, soon after the release, things may catch up again.

What makes Selvaraghavan so famous about? Maybe, his so-called ingredients savoring for adolescent audiences and there’s some other thing what makes him so familiar for. Alas! His very unique nature of taking cheques and advance payments for the films he’s not gonna actually make.

Goa confirmed for Republic Day
Soundarya Rajnikanth has finally let a word on her debut production’s release dates. ‘Goa’ directed by Venkat Prabhu has been under production for a very long time. The film’s shooting was shelved due to adverse climatic conditions and was later bounded to financial constraints.

The paper ads had carried the advertisements that ‘Goa’ will hit the screens for Pongal. Indeed, it was an interesting race as Selvaraghavan’s ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ and ‘Kutty’ was included in the race. But later, as the distributors weren’t willing to release ‘Goa’ for Pongal, the release date has been likely postponed to the Republic Day weekend.

If you’re still there, we have a big funny part that happened during the re-recording session for this film.

Is ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ a reincarnation story?
‘Enakkul Oruvan’ and latest Telugu release ‘Magadheera’!!! Any guesses between these films? Obviously, they’re the most happening films based on reincarnation. And now we hear that, Selvaraghavan’s ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ is also based on the same storyline.

Let’s make it simple, Parthiban takes on the role of a King in Chola Dynasty who dies as a captive to his enemies. (From the trailer, we discover that Reema Sen and Andrea are spotted with the costumes of queens).

Years later in this present world, there’s a team of archeologists (Reema and Andrea) embarking on a journey of finding a buried past of Chola kingdom. A coolie (Karthi) accompanies guiding them across the thickest forests and deserts. Finally, they discover the land where the Chola palace and their belongings are buried.

But then, we may be little surprised to see that Parthiban himself as reincarnated as Karthi.

So, he...

Media channels insulted at ‘Ao’ trailer launch
The trailer launch of ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ turned to be an annoying moment for most of the media channels as there wasn’t any proper seat allotments for the professionals, who graced over the occasion to furnish the news articles and coverage.

There weren’t any specified people to undertake the comfortability of journalists as Selvaraghavan’s first assistant (wearing yellowish-orange blazer) allocated the seats to his associates and their family members (nearly 200 people). They merely walked into the rows doled out for press.

Out of infuriation, most of the journalists walked out of Sathyam Cinemas.
