Zach Bryan leads the 2024 Billboard Music Awards finalist list, earning 21 awards nominations including Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Hot 100 Songwriter, Top Country Artist, Top Country Male Artist, and Top Rock Artist. Taylor Swift picked up 17 nominations, and Morgan Wallen earned 15. Sabrina Carpenter scored nine while Drake, Kendrick Lamaar, Post Malone, Teddy Swims, and Tyla each earned eight.

Zach Bryan, Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, and Drake will go head-to-head in the Top Artist category. And Benson Boone, Chappell Roan, Shaboozey, Teddy Swims, Tommy Richman, and Tyla are up for their first BBMAs.

The 2024 Billboard Music Awards nominations are here, and it’s loaded with so many big names!

This year, the most nominations title goes to Zach Bryan, who is a finalist in 18 categories with 21 total entries in the finalists list. Taylor Swift received 17 total nominations this year, coming in at second. Morgan Wallen landed in third with 15 nods.

Another fun fact: right now, Drake and Taylor Swift are tied for most BBMAs wins of all time at 39 each. This could change with just 1 additional win from either side!

The show will air across multiple platforms including Fox, Paramount+ and Amazon’s Fire TV channels. The two-hour show, hosted by Michelle Buteau, will air on Thursday (December 12) at 8pm Et.

2024 seems to be a comeback year for Will Smith as he had a successful return to the big screen with Bad Boys: Ride or Die. The actor also reportedly released his first single since 2017 and debuted it at the BET Awards earlier today. The song, You Can Make It also featured artist Fridayy and the Sunday Service Choir.

While many were appreciative of Smith’s comeback, fans were quick to notice the lyrical flow of the song was awfully similar to a twenty-four-year-old classic from Eminem. Many expressed that Smith’strack shared similarities with the Houdini singer’s The Way I Am.

Victoria Monet, Killer Mike and Usher were among the big winners at the 2024 BET Awards, which took place Sunday night.

Tyla won the first award of the night, for best international act, and later collected the award for best new artist. Usher, who was honored with a lifetime achievement award during the show, was named best male R&b/pop artist, while Sza (who was not in attendance) won the award for best female R&b/pop artist. Killer Mike won album of the year for Michael. Monét won the BET Her award and video of the year for “On My Mama.” Regina King (who also was not present) was named best actress.

The BET Awards ceremony created some big moments, with performances by Will Smith, who performed his new song “You Can Make It”; the aforementioned tribute to Usher; and a passionate speech by Killer Mike.

Will Smith hit the BET Awards stage Sunday night to perform a brand-new song, “You Can Make It,” backed by the Sunday Service Choir, Chandler Moore and Kirk Franklin.

The Drake-Kendrick Lamar showdown will continue — at the 2024 BET Awards.

The rappers will compete in two categories at the June 30 show: best male hip-hop artist and best collaboration. In the latter category, Drake is nominated for “Rich Baby Daddy” with Sza and Sexyy Red, while Lamar is nominated for his guest verse on the remix of Beyoncé’s “America Has a Problem.”

Drake is the show’s top contender with seven nominations, thanks to his album For All the Dogs (Scary Hours Edition). Lamar didn’t release an album that was eligible this year. The Canadian rapper’s other nominations include album of the year, best male R&b/pop artist and viewer’s choice for “Rich Baby Daddy.” He’s nominated twice in the video of the year category: “Rich Baby Daddy” and his guest verse on J. Cole’s “First Person Shooter,” the late 2023 track that reignited his feud with Lamar.
