Great-grandson of 20th Century-Fox publicist Leicester Wagner, great-great-grandson of silent film director, magazine publisher and Socialist Rob Wagner (II); cousin of actor Max Wagner (I), screenwriter Jack Wagner (III), cameraman/makeup artist Blake Wagner (I), cameraman Robert H. Wagner.

Wagner is of Mexican, Yaqui Indian and European descent.

At the age of 13 was featured in a Capri-Sun (Capri-Sonne!) television commercial for the European market.

Spent the fall and winter of 2016 protesting against the Dakota Access Pipeline at Standing Rock, North Dakota.
