D.J. Lynch grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and moved to Los Angeles to attend USC's School of Cinematic Arts. His breakthrough in post audio came when he landed the job as sound editor and mixer on the television show Cops (1989) for FOX. It can be said that after years of working on that show he may have more experience in "bleeping" profanity than anyone in town. In addition to many other television shows and films he has carved out a niche for himself in animation, mixing several of Nickelodeon's flagship shows like "SpongeBob SquarePants (1999)", "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012)", "Sanjay and Craig (2013)", and "The Penguins of Madagascar (2008)", for which he is an nine-time Emmy and six-time Golden Reel Award winner.
A few years ago D.J. wrote, produced, directed, and self-financed an indy superhero feature film that was released on home video. In his spare time he stays true to the Warner Bros. and Rin Tin Tin legacy by volunteering at the German Shepherd Rescue in Burbank where he helps to rescue and re-home German Shepherds.
