This tale of a female Scrooge discovering ‘the true meaning of Christmas’ will elicit copious tears … at the time you have wasted watching such drivel
It’s harder than you might think to find movies without any redeeming features, but occasionally they do come along. Terrible writing, horrible direction, an appalling script, dreadful performances: Holiday Twist really does have it all. Perhaps it would be fair to say the basic premise – a workaholic Scrooge figure is won over by the spirit of Christmas – is solid, but it’s hardly original.
As in A Christmas Carol, there are supernatural elements here, including an angel who intervenes to return a woman stricken with brain cancer to her family at Christmas. But more supernatural still is the surreal abrasiveness of the lead character, Connie (Kelly Stables), a recently divorced mum who also heads up a large corporate parcel-delivery company. She is a complete nightmare,...

When TV fans and industry analysts talk about the last great network sitcoms to break through in the streaming era, "Superstore" should be one of the first names on their lips. The wildly funny, unapologetically pro-worker sitcom aired on NBC from 2015 to 2021, capturing the strange derangement of Trump-era America through the prism of a Midwestern big box store (think Walmart) where the customers are bizarre, the staff is endearingly dysfunctional, and nameless corporate bigwigs will do anything for their bottom line.
"Superstore" has the loveable ensemble cast energy of shows like "Parks and Recreation" and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," but where those shows have already been aged by their optimism, "Superstore" takes a realist approach to the stupid, dystopian daily struggles of late capitalism. It rattles off some of the funniest jokes I've ever heard at breakneck speed, all while simultaneously crafting touching, radicalizing plotlines about workers' rights, healthcare, immigration, and more.

Two and a Half Men at one point was one of the most popular TV shows on our screen. While Charlie Sheen takes away the most credit for making the show as popular as it is today, there were an ample amount of memorable characters who added to the series’ charm and appeal. Apart from its many male characters, the show also had some memorable female characters who contributed to the show’s clever plot and stood out for their impeccable portrayal.

Exclusive: Sean Ryan Fox (Henry Danger) and Catherine Daddario (Oak) will lead the cast of the indie high school drama The Midway Point, marking the feature directorial debut of writer-director Lucca Vieira, which has wrapped production in Los Angeles. Spoiler Alert: This post includes details about the series finale of NBC’s Superstore.
Superstore gave fans one last bang for their buck before closing the doors to Cloud 9 for good. The NBC workplace comedy wrapped its six-season run with a two-part series finale, which saw a happy ending for Amy (America Ferrera) and Jonah (Ben Feldman), and marked a brand new chapter for other members of the Cloud 9 family.
Creator Justin Spitzer, who stepped down as showrunner back in 2019, returned to co-write the emotional final episodes with executive producers Jonathan Green and Gabe Miller.
Part one of the series finale, “Perfect Store,” picks up from America Ferrera’s surprise appearance at the end of the “Lowell Anderson” episode, when Cheyenne (Nichole Sakura) calls up Amy Sosa to confirm rumors of a Cloud 9 closures due to the pandemic. Every New Year’s celebration comes along with some excitement, pomp, and circumstance, but rarely has the countdown from 10 felt more urgent in the waning seconds of 2020. Yes, 2020 is just a number and yes, time is just an abstract concept created to explain celestial bodies moving around one another. But darn it all, it still feels great to see “2021” at the top of this article.
2021 will hopefully come along with some good news (though admittedly early signs aren’t looking great on that front). At the very least, however, it should come along with some interesting TV options. Due to Covid-19 production delays, there perhaps aren’t as many confirmed release dates for early 2021 as we’ve seen in years’ past. Still, there are plenty of exciting new and returning TV shows to keep you occupied throughout the chilly season.
Winter 2021 is when Marvel makes its triumphant return to television.

"Do you think we'll ever get out of here?" "Hopefully not..." Asa Pictures has unveiled an official trailer for a strange indie romantic comedy titled One Last Night, which is the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Anthony Sabet. The film premiered at the Santa Barbara Film Festival last year, though it's only now finally getting a small theatrical + VOD release at the end of this summer. The film is about two people, Alex and Zoe, out on a first date together at the movie theater. But after it's over and they try to leave, they discover they're locked in. Starring Rachele Schank and Luke Brandon Field as the couple. The official synopsis makes it sound like there's something nefarious, but this trailer makes it look super cute and adorable and a little cheesy, as expected. Also starring Brian Baumgartner, Ali Cobrin, & Kelly Stables. Have a look. Here's the first official...

TV Land initially renewed The Exes for a third season of 12 episodes and ordered another dozen -- giving the sitcom its biggest season order ever. How will the ratings be this year? Will the execs be glad they ordered more or regret it? Could it be cancelled or is it guaranteed a fifth season because that will give the series enough episodes for a syndication package? "Everything we’ve seen from the upcoming season of The Exes is telling us it’s going to be the best one yet,” said TV land president Larry W. Jones. “Last week, we crossed the 50th episode threshold, and we thought – these episodes are So good, let’s keep them going!”

Horrible Bosses was a solid hit for Warner Bros. back in 2011, and the studio has been quick to reassemble stars Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis, despite busy schedules, for more malicious madness. The teaser trailer for the comedy sequel is now online.Directed this time by That’s My Box/ Sex Drive man Sean Anders, working alongside regular co-writer / producer John Morris from their script, Horrible Bosses 2 finds Kurt (Sudeikis), Dale (Day) and Nick (Bateman) launching their own business, but falling afoul of a dodgy investor (Christoph Waltz). Their boneheaded solution to this new problem? Kidnapping, which also involves the man’s son (Chris Pine). There’s not much of the new plot in this first quick look at the film, as it’s more focused on return engagements for original horrible bosses Dave Harken, now in prison but still played by Kevin Spacey, and Julia Harris,...

The original programming on TV Land is something of a mixed bag, but it’s an assortment with a common theme, and one that makes a lot of sense. There’s a mid-80s-early-90s throwback feel about all of their shows, though most of them try to give their comedy a nudge into the new era, and The Exes is one of the best examples of the overall attempt.
The ratings have certainly shown that they’ve got their hands on a good theory, and the fact that other networks are kicking out shows that are clearly from the same mold (with some success) further proves that there is a market.
Well, if The Exes is on your list of faves, you’ve got some good news. The show is coming back for at least 12 more episodes.
Catch all the info below, and let me know what you think of the show.

Kristen Johnston's "The Exes" character is dating young in the upcoming "The Hand That Robs the Cradle" episode. That makes sense. After all, what woman wouldn't want to date a younger man -- especially if he looked like "Teen Wolf" star, Tyler Posey?
In the episode airing on Aug. 21, Holly (Johnston) decides to start dating a much younger man. The young fellow (Posey) is a law student -- could this be a legitimate relationship? Meanwhile, Phil (Donald Faison) and Eden (Kelly Stables) evaluate their relationship, and Stuart (David Alan Basche) convinces Haskell (Wayne Knight) to pursue his crush.
After they taped their episode together, Johnston and Posey presented their "top 10" lists for dating a younger man and a mature woman. The video itself is rather entertaining, but you might be too busy for such things. If that is the case, here are the lists (more or less):

TV Land has ordered 10 additional episodes of The Exes. It's not exactly clear however if this is a fourth season renewal or additional episodes for season three.
Earlier this evening, The Exes Twitter feed revealed, "Breaking #TheExes picked up 4 another season." Larry Jones, the President of TV Land, wrote to congratulate the cast and crew.
Actress Kelly Stables later tweeted, "Thanks to You @The_Exes was picked up for 10 more episodes! (2nd half of season 3!)"
An official press release is likely to be issued soon. Whether it's season four or a super-sized season three, we know there are lots more episodes on the way.
Updated: We now know that season three is being extended by 10 episodes, bringing the season total to 20 installments.

The same day its third-year sitcom scored its first Emmy nom — Ok, it was for Outstanding Cinematography for Multi-camera Series — TV Land has called for more. The cable net has order 10 additional episodes of The Exes as part of the current third season, which is pacing 9% above last season’s average in the 25-54 demo. Created by Frasier alum Mark Reisman, the series stars Donald Faison, Wayne Knight, David Alan Basche, Kelly Stables and Kristen Johnston. TV Land made a similar back-10 order on The Exes in November.

Sci-fi and comedy rule this week as I empty my notebook with the latest intel on CBS’s Under The Dome, an interesting alien relationship on Falling Skies and hilarity over at TV Land’s The Exes. Let’s go!
Under The Dome: The Stephen King novel-turned-series is finally here Monday on CBS and let me tell you that you can believe the hype. The show is captivating and I trust you’ll be drawn into the mystery when a dome suddenly appears over the town of Chester Mills.
While there are familiar TV faces like Mike Vogel, Dean Norris and Britt Robertson, one new face is Alexander Koch, who plays Junior, the son of Norris' character. But, Koch advised me, the series doesn’t necessarily follow the book. “We're going in a little bit of a different direction than the book and I think it’s very good.

Earlier this year, TV Land decided to give Happily Divorced an extra-big second season. Now, they've done the same thing for The Exes.
The Exes revolves around three divorced men who live together and their lawyer/landlady. The cast includes Donald Faison, Wayne Knight, David Alan Basche, Kelly Stables, and Kristen Johnston.
In February, the cable channel ordered a second season of 12 episodes of The Exes and aired them between June and September. Now, according to Deadline, TV Land has ordered 10 more episodes and is considering them part of season two.
It's unclear why they're not calling the 10 new installments season three but fans of the show should be pleased they're getting more installments. The Exes is one of TV Land's lower-rated sitcoms with season two averaging 910,000 viewers with a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
