Robert Katz is a Peabody Award-winning producer who began his career
producing commercials and music videos in the early 1980s. His work in
music production began with long-form documentaries and music
performance specials including Terra Gitane - The Gipsy Kings for PBS,
VH1 Presents The 70s, Rhythm, Country & Blues for PBS and Endless
Harmony for BBC & VH1.
In 1995 he joined VH1 as Vice President-Production and Executive Producer. He oversaw well over 150 hours of music performances, event production, documentaries, series and specials. As the head of production for VH1, Katz helped develop VH1 Divas, VH1's 100 Greatest franchise and the My VH1 Music Awards. His additional credits include Executive Producing on the Hard Rock Live series, the concert special Men Strike Back, Experience Music Project Museum Grand Opening and the Eric Clapton Concert for Crossroads.
Katz's commercials & music videos include work for Ford, Wal-Mart, General Mills, Gateway Computer and music videos for Art of Noise, Simple Minds, Yoko Ono, Lou Reed and Grandmaster Flash.
