Toho Animation has dropped the main trailer for Dr. Stone Season 4, titled Science Future.

Following their escape from Dr. Stanley’s clutches and forging an alliance between the Brody Group and the Kingdom of Science in the previous season, Senku and his team are now on their way to South America.

The upcoming season is expected to adapt the final five arcs of Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi’s manga: New America City, South America, New Stone World, Globetrotting, and Moon Mission.

Senku and his allies will face the dark side’s science master in a thrilling conclusion of the fourth and final season.

Dr. Stone‘s Final Season is set to premiere in 2025 and will be divided into three parts or cours, marking the end of the science-driven adventure that began in 2019. Senku, the man who brought human society back from extinction, captivated many fans of the series, who regard him as the smartest character in the entire anime verse, surpassing the likes of Aizen, Lelouch, and even Johan Liebert.

Amid Dr. Stone‘s fourth season announcement, fans are concerned that one production studio’s choice could spell the tragic downfall of this beloved series. The TV anime adaptation of the sci-fi adventure manga Dr.Stone, created by Riichiro Inagaki (story) and Boichi (art), started airing in Japan in July 2019 and is now celebrating its fifth anniversary. As part of the fifth-anniversary project, the anime's official Twitter account posted a special illustration newly drawn by Takashi Muratani, the sub-character designer and chief animation director, today on June 14. The fifth-anniversary project also includes the "Dr.Stone 2024 Ishi no Utage (Stone Festival)" event scheduled for August 11 at the Tokyo International Forum Hall C. Inspired by the annual “Manga We Want To See Animated” ranking in Japan, a Twitter user conducted a similar poll to find the most desired manga adaptations among Western audiences.

The poll, conducted over a two-week period in February, invited fans to cast their votes for manga series yet to receive an animated adaptation.

Dr.Stone is a shōnen manga written by Riichirō Inagaki and drawn by Boichi. It was published in Shūeisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from March 6, 2017, to March 7, 2022. An anime television series adaptation by Tms Entertainment aired between July 5 and December 13, 2019. A second season aired between January 14, 2021, and March 25, 2021. The third season aired from April 6, 2023, until December 21, 2023.

The anime is currently on a break but will return to adapt the final arcs of the manga, but our good friends at Anime Trending have had the chance to sit down for a talk with the series director Shuhei Matsushita and producer Shusuke Katagiri, who revealed some interesting details about the production of the latest season.

Boichi’s sci-fi action manga Origin will be adapted into a Hollywood live-action feature film produced by Majestic Limited, with Kodansha co-producing it.

Leading Japanese publishing house Kodansha has struck a deal with new production company Majestic Limited for a feature film adaptation of its “Origin” comic.

Created by Boichi, a renown Korean manga artist (real name Park Mu-jik) who is based in Japan, “Origin” is set in a near-future where humanity has achieved incredible advancements in technology and robotics. It tells a story of self-discovery, morality, and what it means to be human.

Winning the grand prize for manga at the 22nd Japan Media Arts Festival and currently only printed abroad, the English translation of “Origin” hit U.S. shelves only in late November.

Majestic was founded by Josh Boone, Danny Chan and Darius Shahmir. Boone directed $300 million grossing 2014 Fox Searchlight hit “The Fault in Our Stars” on a budget of $12 million. Indie horror “Barbarian” grossed $45 million for New Regency.
