The Peach Music Festival has announced its 2023 lineup. The 11th installment of the festival, inspired by the Allman Brothers Band, features a roster of bands that color way outside the margins: Goose, Tedeschi Trucks Band, My Morning Jacket, and Ween will each headline a night of the four-day camping fest.

Set for June 29 through July 2 at its longtime home of Montage Mountain in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the Peach nods to its Allman Brothers originators with a special performance by Trouble No More — the Allmans-approved tribute band that re-creates the group’s music.

I'll never forget the day Jerry Garcia died.

It was a Wednesday; I was ten. My father came home in the middle of his work day, crestfallen, with the news. He spent the rest of the afternoon with his record collection, taking me through the life and legacy of his hero.

America's favorite jam band are back on the warpath this summer, adding a slew of dates to their previously announced headlining spot at Bonnaroo. Los Angeles based sales outfit Archstone Distribution has acquired worldwide sales rights to My Own Worst Enemy Productions’ Biosphere (formerly The Roel). The planned start date for the apocalyptic sci-fi action pic is September 2011.

Written and produced by Michael Z. Gordon, producer of the highly acclaimed, Narc, the all-star cast of this $20 million sci-fi thriller has not yet been announced (though the poster lists Winona Ryder and Terrance Stamp for whatever that's worth).

Synopsis:

A troubled investigator, working with a top secret organization, who prowls the Arizona desert searching for the answers to some puzzling questions, including whether or not we are alone in the universe.

HollywoodNews.com: Brittany Murphy’s widower, Simon Monjack, died over night at home. It’s been almost six months since Murphy died.

Monjack, who was 39, was a bad guy, there’s no two ways about it.

This is what I wrote back in December about Monjack and Murphy.

Director Michael Z. Gordon was planning to go ahead with Brittany Murphy (whose real name was Brittany Anne Bertolotti) in a movie called “Shrinking Charlotte” that was set to shoot in January. Gordon told me he was nervous about working with Murphy because his staff had been in touch with the Puerto Rico production office of “The Caller.” That was the movie from which Murphy was fired two weeks ago.

But what he heard about her husband, Simon Monjack, was what gave him pause.

Producers behind upcoming movie The Caller dropped tragic actress Brittany Murphy from the project over concerns about her husband's influence on the star, according to director Michael Z. Gordon.

Local reports suggested Murphy was proving to be difficult on the set of The Caller in Puerto Rica and that her husband, Simon Monjack, had been fighting with locals.

Murphy's representative blasted the reports, claiming the decision to quit the film was down to "creative differences".

The blonde actress was replaced by Twilight star Rachelle Lefevre and Gordon subsequently hired Murphy to star in his next film, Shrinking Charlotte.

But Gordon reveals The Caller producers reached out to him to warn the director about the troubles they had experienced with the actress and her spouse, according to The Hollywood Reporter columnist Roger Friedman.

Gordon tells Friedman, "Monjack came on the set inebriated. The producers wanted to keep him away. Brittany of course defended him. And so she was let go."

Murphy died at the age of 32 after suffering a cardiac arrest on Sunday.

The cause of Murphy's death has been "deferred" pending toxicological results, although an autopsy on her body was completed on Monday. Officials previously stated they believe the star died from natural causes.

Monjack wed the Clueless star in 2007.
