Hot off the success of American Horror Story and Glee, the twisted minds of TV producers Brad Falchuk, Ryan Murphy, and Ian Brennan birthed a unique creation with the Fox series, Scream Queens, which featured a then mostly unknown Glen Powell. A mix of horror and black comedy with a dash of campy satire, Scream Queens ran for two seasons from 2015- 2016. It starred Emma Roberts as Chanel Oberlin, the It-girl of Wallace University and head of the campus’ biggest sorority, Kappa Kappa Tau. Also featured were Billie Lourd, Keke Palmer, Abigail Breslin, Nick Jonas, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Roberts may have dazzled as Chanel, but Glen Powell was arguably an even bigger scene-stealer. Powell made his acting debut in 2003's Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over. From there, he continued to act steadily, notably playing astronaut John Glen in 2015's Hidden Figures. However, it was Powell's role as Hangman in...

We all know how intense words can flare up when something is said the wrong way—especially when you’re talking about sensitive topics like body image. And when it involves two high-profile names—actors, directors, spouses—well, it doesn’t just stay behind closed doors, does it?
Take a moment and rewind. The name ‘Justin Baldoni’ usually brings up images of the charming actor-turned-director. Then you have Ryan Reynolds, the witty, effortlessly cool guy everyone loves—he’s that person you’re always in the mood to hear crack a joke. But when two such well-known figures clash, it makes the kind of headlines no one wants to read.

The Jane the Virgin star has made some serious accusations about Reynolds, accusing him of “aggressively berating” him after what seemed like an innocent (yet poorly worded) question.

The recent controversy in Tinseltown features Blake Lively and her It Ends with Us co-star Justin Baldoni. Many prominent names in the industry have spoken up about the ordeal, and now, actress Abigail Breslin has apparently given her two cents on the whole matter. Best known for films like Little Miss Sunshine (2006) and My Sister’s Keeper (2009), she faced something similar to what Blake Lively is going through at the moment.

Her complaint later backfired when the production companies behind the film ended up suing her in return. Now, Abigail Breslin pens a heartfelt letter, seemingly supporting Blake Lively in her case against Justin Baldoni.

Abigail Breslin penned an emotional letter on social media regarding the double standard and harassment faced by women who deign to speak up about experiences of sexism or injustice in Hollywood, recalling a lawsuit filed by her employer after she addressed a male co-star’s “unprofessional behavior” on set. The Little Miss Sunshine actress heavily implied she was spurred to put forth a statement following the fallout from Blake Lively’s legal complaint against Justin Baldoni, the multi-pronged scandal that also recently moved Kate Beckinsale to detail her own industry experiences of assault and misogyny.
In a sizable essay shared to her Instagram and Tumblr, Breslin detailed being dismissed as a “hysterical and wild” woman who “apparently just had it in for men” after she had “taken all of the recommended, reasonable and appropriate measures of reporting confidentially to my union” what she had experienced on set. In a message posted Sunday on her Instagram and Tumblr accounts, actress Abigail Breslin alluded to the ongoing Blake Lively scandal as well as the time she was sued by the producers of a film after complaining about a co-star’s on-set behavior, declaring that “toxic masculinity” in Hollywood “is the norm.”
“When did the word woman become synonymous with scapegoat? As I see the news each day, I realize this is the world we seem to live in. In light of recent events regarding the attempt to destroy the career and livelihood of a fellow actress and woman, I have felt compelled to write this, as I have unfortunately been subject to the same toxic masculinity throughout my life,” Breslin wrote.

Abigail Breslin posted a lengthy statement on both her Tumblr and Instagram accounts in which she remembered being called “hysterical” after speaking out about a co-star’s unprofessional behavior. The “Little Miss Sunshine” Oscar nominee implied that she was inspired to post after Blake Lively filed a sexual harassment complaint against her “It Ends With Us” co-star and director Justin Baldoni. Kate Beckinsale was similarly inspired to share her own set harassment stories after Lively’s complaint.
“When did the word woman become synonymous with scapegoat?” Breslin asked at the start of her post. “As I see the news each day, I realize this is the world we seem to live in. You might have some questions about what happened between Abigail Breslin and Aaron Eckhart after the actress referenced their situation and compared it to Blake Lively‘s lawsuit against Justin Baldoni.
The 28-year-old actress took to social media over the weekend to share an essay that she wrote about how women are treated as “scapegoats” while men’s bad behavior is excused.
In the essay, she referenced “recent events,” seemingly addressing Blake‘s allegations of sexual harassment on the set of It Ends With Us.
“In my recent career, I’ve brought forward concerns about a male colleague and was deemed ‘hysterical.’ I was told my fears were figments of my imagination. Now, as I’m seeing this pattern pop up more, I realize this is the norm,” she wrote.
This appears to be a reference to Aaron, who Abigail worked with on the 2024 movie Classified.

Imagine being such a powerful and inspiring figure that your words motivate someone to write a film. Well, Arnold Schwarzenegger is one. The man responsible for revamping the action genre and making danger look cool inspired a writer to write Steve Carell’s famous film, Little Miss Sunshine. The tragicomedy was released almost two decades ago but remains one of the best works of the actor.

Written by Michael Arndt, Little Miss Sunshine was inspired by a speech made by the former Governor of California – the one, the only, Arnold Schwarzenegger. As he talked about losers and despising the lot, the words struck a chord with the writer and he decided to channel it all into a script. However, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s speech didn’t have the effect the Governator thought it would.

Breakout roles make movie stars actors can go from having nondescript careers to becoming the talk of Tinseltown overnight if they impressively pull off an important role that stands out as memorable, even if it's not as the protagonist. For some, the breakout role only paves the way for a career full of iconic characters, some much more memorable than the actor's first project. For example, Margot Robbie's breakout role in The Wolf of Wall Street made headlines, but she is now most famous for playing the main character in Barbie.
However, some stars, while they achieve the same status in the future, are always associated with their first big role. Their breakout performances turned them into movie stars, and while they may go on to do highly successful work, the actors' most famous roles will always be their breakthrough. For example, Bruce Willis went on to do Unbreakable...

This post contains spoilers for "Signs."
For me, "Signs" is the ultimate M. Night Shyamalan cinematic experience, and it has only gotten better with time. Before the film's 2002 release, Shyamalan had already proven his caliber as an up-and-coming filmmaker with "The Sixth Sense" and "Unbreakable" — two entries that still live up to their fame — but "Signs" solidified his ability to shock, mesmerize, and entertain. Popular discourse surrounding "Signs" often revolves around its final twist, but this sci-fi thriller flick offers much more than that; it is a dynamic exploration of apprehension and anxieties that culminate in an event that could lead to the end of the world.

Sam Raimis recent release, Dont Move, makes its steady way toward becoming one of the best survival thrillers in recent memory. The movie adds a twist to the cat-and-mouse chase, taking its horror to unexplored heights. Although the presence of a serial killer is often enough to send chills down the spine of most audiences, Dont Moves failing female body verges into true nightmare territory. Having been injected with a paralytic, the final girl becomes doomed to the will of her attacker.
For those who enjoyed watching Iris's blood-curdling efforts to escape her perpetrator, it's worth noting that several other films also offer adrenaline-pumping narratives with a twist. Leading the Dont Moves cast, actress Kelsey Asbille elevates a suicidal woman into a female rage icon, able to convey so much with the littlest breath. Building toward Dont Moves ending, Iris inner force proves a resourceful adversary against an otherwise experienced killer.

Building toward Dont Moves ending, Iris inner force proves a resourceful adversary against an otherwise experienced killer.

Classified is a title with a double meaning. It not only refers to the work C.I.A. assassin Evan does, but it’s how he gets the details of his assignments. His handler, Kevin disguises them as ads in the classified section of the local paper.
As the film begins we see just how the process works as he gets his assignment, gets his hotel room, gets, his weapons, hallucinates about his dead wife Monica, and takes out his target. He’s about to do it all again, this time in Rome, when he gets an unexpected visitor.
Kacey who claims to work for M16 as an analyst and has some important information for him. She claims Kevin is dead, and the division of the C.I.A. he worked for...

Imagine doing a job for decades, only to find out you’ve been living a lie, doing the dirty work for someone you didn’t even know existed. This is the core of Bob DeRosa’s movie— about clearing this confusion and conspiracy that’s turned his life upside down. “Classified” stars Aaron Eckhart as Evan Shaw, Tim Roth as Kevin Angler, Abigail Breslin as Kacey Walker, Matt Hookings as Antonio Griffin, and more.
Classified (2024) Plot Summary & Movie Synopsis: Who Is Shaw?
What is a government assassin? Think of it as someone who works for top-tier intelligence or investigation agencies, like the CIA or MI6, whose job is to take out threats for the sake of national security. That’s where the protagonist, Evan, comes in. He’s a government assassin, doing missions for the Central Intelligence Agency. Evan has a résumé teeming with high-stakes, off-the-books assignments, taking out criminals,...

Classified stars Aaron Eckhart as the lone wolf spy Evan Shaw, whom we learn virtually nothing about throughout the hour and 45-minute runtime of this disappointing new thriller. He's joined by former child star Abigail Breslin, who plays his long-lost daughter turned MI6 analyst, Kacey. Written by Roel Rein and directed by Bob DeRosa, Classified will not be remembered as one of the best spy movies of the 2020s and will likely fly under the radar for most audiences. Though competently shot, the storytelling and performances leave much to be desired.

Taking on the role of troubled assassin Evan Shaw, Aaron Eckhart brings his signature serious depth to the character. Director Roel Reiné’s new action thriller Classified throws viewers into a murky world of espionage and betrayal.
As a veteran CIA operative, Evan receives assignments through codes hidden in newspaper classifieds, carrying out hits in solitude. But troubling revelations soon challenge everything he believed about the opaque organization he’s dedicated his life to.
When a daring young intelligence analyst named Kacey, played compellingly by Abigail Breslin, unveils the shocking truth that Evan’s long-standing division has ceased to exist for years, he’s forced to question who has truly been orchestrating his missions all this time.
Teaming up with the determined Kacey, Evan embarks on a quest for answers that will take them on a pulse-pounding journey across scenic locations in Malta. Along the way, unexpected twists unfold as...

There is shockingly bad dialogue and a lot of extras waiting to fall over dead as Eckhart’s killer for hire finds all is not what it seems
This decidedly shonky, if at least relatively unpretentious, action film stars Aaron Eckhart, once very much the coming man who’s not had the career you would expect for someone with his looks and talent. Eckhart plays a hitman named Evan Shaw; clearly a bit of a dolt, Shaw thinks he works for a super-specialised unit within the CIA that dispatches him to assassinate bad guys by sending him coded messages in the classified ads in newspapers (very retro). Shaw never sees his boss, Kevin although a flashback reveals they used to have dinner together once in a while. Still grieving his late wife, Monica, Shaw devotes himself to his lonely, murderous work, passing through airports, picking up suitcases with high calibre rifles at lost property offices,...

Plot: A career CIA hitman who’s been solely using the classified section of various newspapers to receive his orders suddenly discovers that his division’s actually been shut down for years.
Review: As of late, Aaron Eckhart has been making a career starring in these low-budget action flicks. Decidedly more focused on the conversations versus actual bombastic action, this is what I’d refer to as a “wait and see” action movie. The action beats are over just as fast as they begin, and it’s much more about the setup. This is clearly due to budget constraints but also a bit of creative laziness, as it gets quite shocking with how little is actually happening. I’ll give you three guesses as to which type of action film Classified is…

Lionsgate wants theatergoers to have the time of their lives, so the studio is adapting “Dirty Dancing” as a Broadway musical.
“Dirty Dancing: The Musical” will launch in late 2025 with aspirations for Broadway as well as a North American run. From there, producers plan to expand the show to theater markets in Asia, Australia, Latin America and beyond.
Eleanor Bergstein, who wrote the film’s screenplay, is developing the show and writing the book of the musical. Lonny Price, who played Neil Kellerman in “Dirty Dancing,” will direct the re-envisioned production. He’s a Tony nominee for “A Class Act” and “110 in the Shade” and originated the role of Charley Kringas in the ill-fated 1981 run of Stephen Sondheim’s “Merrily We Roll Along.”

Behind-the-scenes stories reveal that being an actor is not as safe as one might hope when movie stars often find themselves in dangerous situations while filming. The biggest disasters to ever happen on movie sets are the worst-case scenarios, but other shocking stories that thankfully ended with no permanent injuries recount actors encountering danger. This may be due to hazardous filming conditions, intense choreography, or misunderstandings with people outside the crew.
Actors famous for doing their own stunts are at risk of injury, as well as those managing complex set pieces. Unfortunately, negligence on the part of the crew may lead to an actor being injured, if safety standards arent met and stunt doubles aren't used when they are needed. Certain examples regarded as the most hostile movie sets ever are far enough in the past that people would hope these conditions wouldn't happen again today. Yet actors may encounter...

Fans of the comedy horror Bodies Bodies Bodies will be disappointed to learn that the movie will leave Netflix on Sept. 19, 2024. But the good news is that a long list of horror comedies is available on the streaming service to fill the void. And don't miss this year's Netflix & Chills lineup.
Bodies Bodies Bodies and other horror comedies are a unique subgenre of horror that mixes slasher elements with absurd comedic ones. Mixing comedy with horror is nothing new, as Edgar Allan Poe and other writers often combined the two in their works.
Bride of Chucky
Bride of Chucky is the fourth installment of the Child's Play franchise, written by creator Don Mancini and directed by Ronny Yu, also known for Freddy vs. Jason (2003). Brad Dourif returns as the voice of Chucky, with Jennifer Tilly portraying Tiffany Valentine, a role she would reprise in several other installments of the franchise.

"Finish the mission... or you become the mission!" Saban Films has revealed an official trailer for the action thriller film titled Classified, another of these dime-a-dozen junk action films tossed on VOD. Never heard of it before and probably won't ever hear of it again. The storyline revolves around a veteran CIA agent and his daughter, who herself is an MI6 analyst. His daughter tracks him down and tells him his boss has been dead for years. He has been solely using the classified section of various newspapers to receive his orders - only to discover that his division's actually been shut down for a long time. They set out to find out who has actually been giving him his instructions and sending him on missions. Aaron Eckhart stars with Abigail Breslin, plus Tim Roth, Matt Hookings, Myles Clohessy, Kim DeLonghi, and Joe Azzopardi. This looks like another made-on-Malta tax write off.

Signs' water twist led to a unique and meaningful solution to defeating the alien invaders - but it didn't actually make sense. The Aliens' severe reaction to H2O would have been realized long before the endign. Despite its flaws and lack of logical sense, Signs remains a fun and thrilling sci-fi horror movie.
The final twist in the 2002 sci-fi horror Signs was a lot of fun, but the longer I think about it, the less it makes any sense. Part of the appeal of the M. We’re talking M. Night Shyamalan’s Signs (2002) this week on the Nightmare on Film Street horror movie podcast, and we’re feeling the rural horror love. Join your horror hosts Kimmi and Jon as they dissect the emotions from the facts, and get down to the real meat of it; why would aliens who have a weakness to water wage war on a planet that’s 80% wet?
We’ve got corn. We’ve got crop circles. We’ve got crackling baby monitors. We’ve got shadows on the roof. We’ve got… surprisingly few cows?
Signs (2002) stars Mel Gibson as Graham Hess, a former preacher turned farmer who’s lost his faith after a family tragedy. Living on a Pennsylvania farm with his brother Merrill (Joaquin Phoenix) and his two kids, Morgan (Rory Culkin) and Bo (Abigail Breslin), Graham starts noticing some seriously weird stuff around his property. As...

As part of its fall lineup announcement Monday, Fox revealed some of the players who will appear on the second season of Accused.
Michael Chiklis — who was featured in Accused‘s first episode when it premiered in January of 2023 — will return for the second season of the drama developed by Howard Gordon. The show’s set to air at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays this fall on Fox.
Joining the former Vic Mackey on the new season is Felicity Huffman, William H. Macy and Nick Cannon. It’s not clear, for now, what roles the actors will play in the anthology, which features different stories of crime and punishment told from the defendant’s point of view.

“Harry Potter” star Tom Felton is currently filming the series “Gandhi,” where he plays Josiah Oldfield, the future Mahatma’s friend in London.
Part of the series, produced by Sameer Nair for India’s Applause Entertainment and directed by Hansal Mehta, follows the young Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi when he was in London to study law and missing vegetarian food. It examines how Gandhi’s chance discovery of a vegetarian restaurant brings him to the lesser-known Vegetarian Society of London, of which Oldfield is one of the founders. This chance meeting proves to be formative for Gandhi, as it is Oldfield who first discovers the writer in him and encourages him to pen articles for the Vegetarian Magazine.
“It is about the relationship between the two of them and how they found each other at exactly the right time. And how without meeting each other, their lives would have definitely been different,...

A certain actor has been taking over Hollywood as of late, and his name is Glen Powell.
The actor, hailing from Austin, Texas, has a long list of credits to his name, with various appearances on television series over the years. But, he reached movie star status after starring in two of the biggest films of the last two years.
Both Top Gun: Maverick and Anyone but You were bonafide commercial hits, but they are far from the only series and movies of Mr. Powell's you'll want to add to your must-watch list.
Powell's acting career started with a small role in Spy Kids 3-D Game, and a few years later, he went on to star in The Great Debaters alongside Hollywood heavy hitters Forest Whitaker and Denzel Washington, who also directed it.
More roles would follow that, including guest stints on CSI: Miami, Rizzoli & Isles, and NCIS.
