Five years after winning Best Picture with Parasite, director Bong has finally returned with Mickey 17. This one has taken a long, strange trip to the theater – first scheduled for release in 2024, before landing a January 31, 2025 release date following the writers’ and actors’ strikes last year.

The Night Manager's return year has been set. The BBC One show, which aired on AMC in the United States, premiered in 2016 and follows Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston), a British ex-soldier who manages a hotel in Cairo and is approached for an undercover mission to bring down arms dealer Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie). In April 2024, the surprise announcement was made that The Night Manager season 2 and season 3 had both been renewed simultaneously as a BBC and Amazon co-production, with Hiddleston set to reprise his role.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, The BBC has confirmed that The Night Manager season 2 is set to premiere on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in 2025. While the exact date has not been revealed just yet, their report also confirms that Olivia Colman and Alistair Petrie are set to return alongside Hiddlestone, reprising their respective roles as Foreign Office task force manager Angela Burr and Roper's associate Lord Sandy Langbourne.

As always, it’ll be a busy year for the BBC. The corporation has released a partial TV slate for 2025.

A list of 28 shows — some new, and some more familiar — premiering next year are detailed below, including the return of Tom Hiddleston in The Night Manager, Ncuti Gatwa in the 15th series of Doctor Who, an Austen-themed period piece with Keeley Hawes and Rose Leslie and the season two of Sas Rogue Heroes following season one’s cliffhanger ending.

A program on the Pan Am flight bombing in Lockerbie, Scotland, as well as a sparkling new Agatha Christie adaptation and the latest material from BAFTA-winning Sally Wainwright, are also included.

What If…? might have started out as a great concept to explore alternate realities and story arcs in the MCU, but there has been a sharp decline in that concept due to multiple reasons. What If...? season 3's fourth episode isn't Christmas-themed, but it's certainly unlike anything else we've seen from Marvel Studios and Marvel Animation. 

Taking us back to the "What If... Thor Were an Only Child?" reality (we're sure you all remember Party Thor), it's revealed that Howard the Duck and Darcy Lewis fell in love after meeting in that episode. They tied the knot and Earth was forever transformed after many of those visiting aliens chose to stick around.

Howard and Darcy had a baby, though with the former being a duck and all, it initially takes the form of an egg. The Watcher suggests the child within has an important destiny but everything seems pretty normal when Topaz shows up and invites the trio on The Grandmaster's cruise. 

Yondu watches from afar and is clearly interested in the egg. The Grandmaster, meanwhile, treats Mr. and Mrs. the Duck like royalty...

In the first season of What If…? Thor tore up Vegas in a party state. In the process, human Darcy (Kat Dennings) met duck-alien Howard the Duck (Seth Green). During the wild Vegas weekend, they fell in love, leading to the events of “What If… Howard the Duck Got Hitched?” The sequel episode brings the same silliness one would expect from a Howard the Duck story. However, you might need to tune in to “Howard the Duck Got Hitched” for later consequences in the What If…? storyline. While “What If… Red Guardian Stopped the Winter Soldier?” brought a buddy team-up to life, “What If… Howard the Duck Got Hitched?” is far weirder.

Marvel Cinematic Universe’s What If…? has impressed the audience for three seasons. The animated show features some iconic actors from the MCU who lend their voices to their superhero characters.

The series is set in an alternate timeline and places the heroes in situations different from those in the films. What If…? Season 3, which marks the show’s final season, recently premiered on Disney+.

Instead of dropping all episodes together or following a weekly schedule, What If…? Season 3 has released one new episode daily since its premiere on December 22nd, 2024. “What If…?” is back for one more round on Disney+, with Season 3 wrapping up Marvel’s animated series.

Beginning on Dec. 22, the streamer will release one new episode every day for eight days, each one reimagining the lives of various MCU characters. As always, Jeffrey Wright voices The Watcher, and several vets are returning to voice the animated versions of their characters.

But there are also new voices in there too. So, let’s break it down.

Episode 1

Episode 1 is called “What If…The Hulk fought the Mech Avengers?” and centers on Sam Wilson’s Captain America, as he has to don a massive mech suit to battle Bruce Banner after an attempt to cure himself of the Hulk goes horribly wrong. What If...? returns with its third and final season this weekend and Marvel Animation has today shared the episode descriptions and credits for every episode.

There are some significant reveals here, though the biggest is Mysterio's role in "What If...The Emergence destroyed the Earth?" With the planet no more, it appears Quentin Beck finds a way to take charge of what's left; could a Spider-Man: Far From Home retcon be in the works establishing him as a Multiversal threat?

Even the most underrated vampires have a very special mythology to them that draws audiences in. Having forever at their fingertips, yet also relying on killing in order to maintain it poses so many fascinating dilemmas to explore. Vampires have been portrayed as evil bloodsucking monsters and conflicted romantic heroes, and the most powerful movie and TV vampires can manipulate and enthrall.

There's also so much lore that gets changed around depending on what fits a particular story, which allows the vampire characters to develop all kinds of personality traits dependent on their limitations. In some stories, they can't go out in the daylight, making their lives fully nocturnal and limited.

Clayface is ready to hit the ground running from DC Studios.

The studio has set the feature, with a script from Mike Flanagan, for a theatrical release on Sept. 11, 2026. A director has not yet been announced.

Matt Reeves (director of 2022’s The Batman) and Lynn Harris serve as producers for Clayface, with the movie centering on the DC Comics character that originated as a Batman villain in 1940. Clayface is known for consisting of clay and having the ability to shape-shift. DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran also produce.

Additionally, director Arthur Mintz’s original animated movie Dynamic Duo from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has been set for theatrical release on June 30, 2028. Matthew Aldrich penned the screenplay for the project that counts Reeves, Harris and Theresa Andersson as producers.
