Exclusive: The fourth annual Mammoth Film Festival will return to kick off its fourth edition February 3 with a double opening-night screening: the Nina Dobrev-directed short The One in her helming debut followed by the world premiere of the Emile Hirsch-Kate Bosworth psychological thriller The Immaculate Room.

The fest, set in the resort town of Mammoth Lakes nestled in California’s Sierra Nevada mountains, will run in-person February 3-6. Last year’s edition was not held because of the pandemic.

Written and directed by Mukunda Michael Dewil with Joel David Moore among its producers, Immaculate Room centers on a couple that takes part in a psychological experiment that will reward them with $5 million if they can stay in a perfectly white room for 30 days. Sterling Beaumon has been cast in upcoming horror/thriller “Your Lucky Day.”

The distributor will roll out the film in North America, Variety has learned, as well as the U.K. and Ireland where Saban has recently expanded its presence.

Jonathan W. Stokes (“El Gringo”) wrote and directed the piece about an ambitious reporter (Campbell) stationed in the Middle East who is taken captive after her convoy is ambushed. She is confronted by the trauma of her past and must find a way to bring down the militants who incarcerated her.

Campbell won the best actress BAFTA TV award in 2015 for the BBC original “Murdered by My Boyfriend.” She also broke out in the “Black Mirror” episode “Hang the DJ,” about futuristic courtship system, and starred in “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.”

Winter is joining Don’t Log Off, an indie feature set entirely during the early days of the Covid-19 quarantine. The comedy-thriller marks the directorial debut from the Baer Brothers, Brandon Baer and Garrett Baer.

Dumplin' is the story of a clever, self-aware Texan teenaged girl named Willowdeen (Danielle Macdonald). Struggling to connect with herself and her beauty pageant-obsessed mother, Rosie (Jennifer Aniston), in the wake of her Aunt Lucy's (Hilliary Begley) death, Will enters the Clover County Miss Teen Bluebonnet competition as a form of angry protest against the fat-shaming culture she and her Aunt Lucy have had to endure for their entire lives.

Directed by Anne Fletcher from a script by Kristin Hahn, Dumplin' mostly refuses to fall into "tragic fat girl" tropes, which is one of the film's greatest strengths.
