While Bottom: Exposed featured many interviews and talking heads, Inside Out reunites most of the cast – Whitfield passed away in 2018.
Series co-star Jennifer Saunders said to the British Comedy Guide, “I loved making Ab Fab but I can’t remember a great deal, so much of this retrospective is a revelation to me. Thank you Gold for this kind and helpful programme”.
Its other co-star, Joanna Lumley, added: “It was a fabulous wander down memory lane by actresses who only have the faintest grip on reality. Really thrilling, and I hope vastly entertaining. I loved every second”.

The BBC sitcom Terry & June is available to stream unedited in full, but a warning at the start of it has left one MP demanding his country back.
Starring June Whitfield and Terry Scott, the BBC sitcom Terry & June was a big hit for the corporation, particularly in the 1980s. It debuted in 1979, ran through until 1987, and the show has been made available to stream in full via the BritBox service.
To the best of my knowledge, not a single frame of the show has been edited or altered. In spite of if being a programme very much of its time, the decision has been made to leave the material in tact, and instead just add a warning at the start.
This seems a decent way of doing things. Retrospectively censoring material to modern sensitivities is a dangerous and evolving path. Letting people wander unwarned into family-targeted viewing...

The BBC is reporting that Whitfield died on Friday night at 93.
Whitfield’s career touched just about every part of the entertainment industry from early radio comedies, acting in the “Carry On” films, to co-leading the beloved BBC sitcom “Terry and June” that ran from 1979 to 1987. She kept working long into her career even appearing in the 1998 London-based “Friends” episode, the new revamped episodes of “Doctor Who” starring David Tennant and landing a recurring role of Gran/Mother in Jennifer Saunders’ “Absolutely Fabulous.” She also continued to appear on radio, voicing Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple for nine years on the BBC Radio 4.
When Whitfield was appointed with the honor of damehood at the age of 92, Charles, Prince of Wales told her this celebration had been “some time coming.

Title: Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie Director: Mandie Fletcher Starring: Jennifer Saunders, Joanna Lumley, Julia Sawalha, June Whitfield, Jane Horrocks, Claudia Bing, Gwendoline Christie and Chris Colfer The witticism of ‘Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie’ is not up to the standards of British humour. Director Mandie Fletcher opts for a coarse slapstick entertainment, as she condenses in a film the U.K. television show ‘Absolutely Fabulous.’ The comedy’s screenplay was written by Jennifer Saunders, based on her eponymous sitcom, where she plays the character of Edina Monsoon, the owner of a barely successful metropolitan PR company. Her best friend and partner in crime Patsy Stone (Joanna Lumley) relishes in the high life. Eddy [ Read More ]

Chicago – As far as TV shows that fans wish could be movies, the cult hit “Absolutely Fabulous” was high on the list. The adventures of Patsy and Edina, two middle age Brits with an appetite for self medication, has had a dedicated following since it premiered in 1992. Even though there were six full TV seasons, and various reunions, “Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie” has emerged.
Rating: 3.0/5.0
Although series creator (and portrayer of Edina) Jennifer Saunders wrote the screenplay, the film suffered with a not-quite-enough storyline that made 90 minutes seem longer. However, there are some magic and bizarrely funny moments in the film, even though the substance-abusing duo are getting a bit long in the tooth to keep the characters viable. But this is “Ab-Fab,” and viability is not really high on the radar, darling. For fans of the show, this is welcome fun, and for those not as familiar, caveat emptor.

The Ab Fab brand - the exuberantly vulgar misadventures of two boozily dysfunctional middle-aged fashionistas - apparently never goes out of style. And isn't that wonderful, sweetie? Isn't it? In the big-screen reboot of the classic British sitcom, publicist Eddy (Jennifer Saunders) sets out to land a new client (none other than supermodel Kate Moss) with the help, as always, of best pal/enabler Patsy (Joanna Lumley). Times are hard, the Bolly's dried up, and the credit cards have been cut up. In desperation, Patsy cries out she needs "hand money," and Eddie must woo Moss as her next big client.

Ever since Absolutely Fabulous swanned onto the BBC in 1992, there's been talk of a feature-film adventure — and now, 24 years later, Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie has left Brexit-land to splash down on our shores. Diehard fans will find Eddy and Patsy even more AbFab on the big screen. The movie? Not so much. Too many locations, a convoluted plot,...

Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie reunites fashionista-wannabee gal pals Edina Monsoon (Jennifer Saunders) and Patsy Stone (Joanna Lumley) from the 1990s hit British TV comedy for more of their hard partying, party-crashing, champagne-swilling inappropriate shenanigans.

After years of the will-they-won't-they rumor mill, Edina Monsoon and Patsy Stone are officially heading to the big screen: Fox and BBC Films have released the first photo of Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie, and judging from the photo and log line, we're in store for a lot of alcohol-and-nicotine-fueled fun. The film, adapted from the immensely popular and long-running BBC series, will see the duo fleeing to the French Riviera after being "blamed for a major incident at an uber fashionable launch party." Attempting to escape from the ensuing media storm, they arrive at the "glamorous playground of the super-rich" completely penniless, and proceed to devise a plan to turn their temporary hideout into a permanent lifestyle. Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley will reprise their roles, while many other original cast members, including Julia Sawalha as Saffy, Jane Horrocks as Bubble, and June Whitfield as Mother, will also return.

As previously announced on Screenterrier back in October, newcomers 15 year old Archie Cox from Cirencester, who didn't realise he was auditioning for the main role until he was down to the final three, and 16 year old Ruby Ashbourne Serkis, the daughter of actor Lorraine Ashbourne and Andy Serkis who will be making her own television debut, star in the new BBC adaption of of Laurie Lee's classic memoir of the Cotswolds, Cider With Rosie.
The younger versions will be played by Georgie Smith, a ten-year-old schoolboy from Cheltenham, and Libby Easton, a seven-year-old who lives near Laurie Lee’s real home in Slad, pictured above.
Georgie, Libby and Archie were all spotted in Gloucestershire schools, where they were among 500 pupils who took part in casual workshops while casting directors looked on.
Director Phillippa Lowthorpe said: “We really wanted to capture authentic accents and the sense of an innocence you get in the countryside.

Yes, Edina and Patsy, your favorite British Bff's and gay icons, are once again ready to crash every fashion show, charity event and posh soiree in the greater London metropolitan area and beyond. Sweetie darling, we're going to the movies!
Yes, after years of rumours, teases and broken promises, it was announced this week that an Absolutely Fabulous movie is 100 per cent, definitely, absolutely going into production this October.
It's been a long road to get here, with Jennifer Saunders first mooting the possibility of taking Edina and Patsy to the multiplexes way back in 2011.
The Early Buzz
"I want to write Ab Fab: The Movie," Saunders - co-lead and creator - told The Sunday Times in November 2011. "We'd have so much fun, and I've thought of a really nice idea...
"We thought it would be hilarious if [Edina and Patsy] went to a party on an oligarch's yacht, got drunk, fell asleep and woke up in the middle of the ocean. Everyone else has left, and the ship has been moved on."

20 years after it was first talked about, the first draft script for the Absolutely Fabulous movie - Edina And Patsy - is done.
Since the television show first hit big, there's been talk of a possible Absolutely Fabulous movie. But it looks as if 2015 may be crunch time for the project.
Jennifer Saunders has revealed that she's now got a script in place for the film spin-off of the hit TV show. "I've finished the first draft" she told the Sunday People. "I'm feeling euphoric. My proper New Year's resolution is to do the film, otherwise it'll be a pointless year of procrastination".
It's said that Saunders first started work on an Absolutely Fabulous film script some 20 years ago. We'd guess that if it finally goes ahead, it'd be a swansong for the characters of Edina and Patsy (played, of course, by Saunders and Joanna Lumley).

Banging a drum about stuff we love is more or less our remit on Den Of Geek - hence what many readers have started referring to as the ‘inexplicably regular' appearance of Statham, squirrels and Harold Bishop from Neighbours on these pages.
To that end then, we asked our writers which comedy shows (past and present, UK or otherwise, on TV, radio, or online…) deserved more praise, and here are the ones they chose. You might already like them too, or you might discover something new to dig out and enjoy. That’s the fun of it.

14 year old newcomer Archie Cox from Cirencester has landed the lead role in the new BBC adaptation of Laurie Lee's classic memoir of the Cotswolds, Cider With Rosie.
The casting directors searched local Gloucestershire schools to find boys with authentic accents and spotted Archie, who they described as "an exciting new discovery", despite the fact that he has no previous acting experience.
Archie will star as Laurie know as 'Lol' in the story which chronicles his journey from boy to man, first love, loss and family upheaval. Lol’s boyhood escapades take place in a rural world as yet untouched by electricity and cars - a place suspended between history and modernity.
Fellow newcomer Ruby Ashbourne Serkis (represented by Lou Coulson), the 16 year old daughter of actors Andy Serkis and Lorraine Ashbourne, will play the author's cousin, the Rosie of the title.
Royal Conservatoire of Scotland graduate Emma Curtis...
