T.J. Johnson replaced Tommy Oliver as the Turbo Red Ranger. The new Turbo cast introduced new energy and helped revitalize the show. T.J. would then become the In Space Blue Ranger and continued to appear in multiple Power Rangers crossovers.

Power Rangers once replaced Tommy Oliver as the leader of the team, and this new character was part of two Ranger squads and helped save the franchise. The original Green Ranger Tommy, played by the late Jason David Frank, was introduced during Mighty Morphin season 1 and quickly became the face of the show. Tommy was front and center in three different series and led the team in two films between 1993 and 1997, an impressive legacy that would only be interrupted during the latter half of Power Rangers Turbo.

The original Green PowerRanger appears in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, raising the question of whether Jason David Frank filmed scenes for the reunion. Original Tommy Oliver actor Jason David Frank died in November 2022, leaving an enormous legacy within the Power Rangers franchise. It must be noted, though, that Once & Always was filmed before David Frank’s passing.

Power Rangers: Once & Always is the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ 30th-anniversary special, which sees the original heroes from the Mighty Morphin era reuniting to fight a robot version of Rita Repulsa (voiced by Barbara Goodson). The Power Rangers reunion addresses the original Yellow Ranger Trini’s (Thuy Trang) fate in the story, and introduces a new character – Mihn (Charlie Kersh), Trini’s daughter. Other returning Power Rangers characters include Mighty Morphin characters Rocky (Steve Cardenas), Kat (Catherine Sutherland), Aisha (Karan Ashley), and Adam (Johnny Yong Bosch).

Here is the glorious piece of evidence of 6 returning rangers As you can see in this shot, The returning cast will be Hector David Jr. as Samurai Green, Brittany Pirtle as Samurai Yellow, Jason David Frank as the legendary Mmpr Green Ranger, Patricia Ja Lee as Space Pink, Selwyn Ward as Space Blue and Danny Slavin as Galaxy Red. Also, if you look closely you can see stunt actors in other past season ranger suits. According to this promo poster, Jdf himself may be getting his own Megaforce episode similar to what Jason Smith, Jungle Fury Red, Will be getting.
