Wes Gibbons (Alfred Enoch) was a kind-hearted law student in How to Get Away with Murder, but who killed Wes Gibbins? When he was introduced as an aspiring lawyer in Annalise Keating's (Viola Davis) class, Wes seemed softer and more nervous than the others, and he became part of the Keating Five when covering up the death of Annalise's husband, Sam (Tom Verica). Wes and Laurel bonded, and after an intimate moment in season 3, Laurel ends up pregnant with their son, Christopher. Wes is who killed Sam, adding to his guilt and self-reflection.
Wes's death in season 3 is disturbing as it proves that none of the Keating 5 are safe. Wes and Annalise had a connection revealed in season 2, as Wes's mother, Rose (Kelsey Scott), was scared to testify against the son of Wallace Mahoney (Adam Arkin), a wealthy man who assaulted Rose, resulting in her pregnancy with Wes. Season 3 is set around 1815 and the beloved monarch’s real-life death occurs in November 1818 — mere months before the birth of her granddaughter, the future Queen Victoria.

It’s Lady Whistledown’s turn to find love. Netflix has released a new clip from the first part of “Bridgerton” Season 3, debuting May 16 on the streamer.
In keeping with the formula of previous seasons and the Julia Quinn novels they’re adapted from, this coming edition will follow the romantic journey of a new sibling in the elite Bridgerton clan in 19th century England. Season 3 turns to the third eldest sibling, Colin (Luke Newton), and his love interest Penelope (Nicola Coughlan), who is part of the neighboring Featherington family.
In the new clip, debuted at a “Bridgerton” fan event in London, U.K. attended by Quinn and executive producer Shonda Rhimes, Lady P. finally confronts Colin about his reluctance to court her. “Because I embarrass you, of course you would never court me,” she tells him, with tears in her eyes.

Netflix has debuted a new batch of first-look images of Penelope and Colin’s budding romance in season 3 of ‘Bridgerton.’
Season 3 will be based on ‘Romancing Mister Bridgerton,’ the fourth book in Julia Quinn’s series. The third season finds Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) finally giving up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters.
But lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly. Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he’s disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder.

When reading actor Brian Cox's memoir "Putting the Rabbit in the Hat," I was disappointed that he didn't mention his work on David Fincher's superlative "Zodiac." Throughout the book, Cox shows no reluctance to burn bridges, and given his ribbing of "Succession" co-star Jeremy Strong's method acting, I was eager to see if he'd have similar words about Fincher's infamous perfectionism. Alas, no such stories exist.
True to its title, the 2007 "Zodiac" film is about the Zodiac killer, the still unidentified murderer who left Northern California quaking with fear as the 1960s closed. The film spans the 1960s to 1980s (with an epilogue in 1991), focusing on the killings and then Robert Graysmith's (Jake Gyllenhaal) investigation years later.

“Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” has one of the most complicated, and yet stylistically unified, scores of any series this year — Kris Bowers‘ original score, the 18th-century period music, and a surprising number of string-quartet covers of 21st-century hits.
The Netflix series, a prequel to the 2021 hit “Bridgerton,” imagines a Black bride for England’s King George III in 1761, chronicling their initially rocky marriage and her gradual understanding of the monarch’s mental illness; flash-forwards to 1817 feature an older and wiser queen.
Bowers, who earned two Emmy nominations for his work, returned for the prequel but took a different approach. “This show needed a level of intimacy that the score for ‘Bridgerton’ doesn’t necessarily have,” he says. “My initial instinct was to write for a smaller ensemble, and to mic and mix the music in a way that was more intimate and tactile, a sense of closeness to the instruments.

‘Queen Charlotte’ Star Arsema Thomas on Taking up Space as Lady Danbury and as a Black Queer Actress
When Bridgerton was first released in 2020, Arsema Thomas wanted so badly to be a part of that world she couldn’t even watch the hit Netflix period romance.
“I don’t know what it was, but sometimes when you see something that you want and you see that it’s already come and gone, it’s difficult to sit and enjoy it without thinking of that,” Thomas, 28, tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I think that was what was going through my mind, that this would be the perfect thing, the greatest thing… to see that it came and went and I didn’t hear of an audition, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m gutted. I don’t think I can ever watch this.’”

There is nothing “other” about HBO Max’s “The Other Two.”
The acclaimed comedy returned for its third season with two new episodes on May 4, wasting no time in reminding viewers and voters why it should be in the running for Best Comedy Series. The showbiz satire, which was created, written, directed and executive-produced by former “Saturday Night Live” writers Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider, picks up in a post-pandemic world with self-obsessed siblings Cary (Drew Tarver) and Brooke (Heléne Yorke) having found success (or something close to it if you squint) as an actor and a manager, respectively. But although they have escaped the shadow of their younger brother Chase (Case Walker), neither can get out of their own way long enough to make real progress. With excellent supporting performances from Molly Shannon and Josh Segarra (the Mvp of every show he appears in), “The Other Two” is the...

Spoiler alert: The following article contains spoilers from “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story”.
“Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story”, now streaming on Netflix, tackles King George III’s mental health struggle, and actor Corey Mylchreest — who portrays the young royal in the drama — has now spoken out about filming such scenes.
The “Bridgerton” spinoff tells the origin story of a young Charlotte (India Amarteifio) and her arranged marriage to George.
In real life, the King was never specifically diagnosed with a mental illness, but it’s been reported that he suffered multiple bouts of quite severe mental illness during his time on the throne.
“The series in itself is like a different beast,” Mylchreest told Variety of the spinoff. “It feels like ‘Bridgerton’ but it has maybe darker moments to it, and it’s a little bit grittier. So it feels like its own thing.”

Bridgerton seasons one and two were well-received Netflix originals. A show that gave the audience an alternate history version by reimagining a world where people from different races were part of the high society in England. Even though I had issues with the show, Bridgerton was path-breaking in its way. When stories from the pre-Victorian and Elizabethan eras are told and retold, Bridgerton comes across as a breath of fresh air when it comes to storytelling and music as well. We got to see Queen Charlotte, the cheeky older Queen of England who had a penchant for gossip but was also known for her strong personality. Keeping her character in mind, the makers of Bridgerton give us a spin-off, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, which takes us back to a few decades ago when Charlotte was a young woman and was on the way to becoming King George III’s wife.

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers from “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story,” now streaming on Netflix.
“Queen Charlotte” may be an extension of the “Bridgerton” universe, but its brand-new story by Shonda Rhimes is quite different, with a much more serious tone.

The story of Queen Charlotte and King George III was briefly touched on in Season 2 of “Bridgerton,” but this prequel dives in to the origin story of a young Charlotte (India Amarteifio) as she embarks on her arranged marriage to a young King George.
