The Apple TV+ limited series “Lessons in Chemistry” tells the story of Elizabeth Zott (Brie Larson), a brilliant chemist struggling against the blatant sexism of the 1950s science community before taking her skills and empowering women over the airwaves through a science-driven cooking show. But how did the artists behind the scenes transport us to the era? We spoke with editor Geraud Brisson, hair department head Teressa Hill, cinematographer Jason Oldak, composer Carlos Rafael Rivera, supervising sound editor Perry Robertson, and production designer Cat Smith for a special “Making Of” panel. Watch our entire discussion above.
SEEEmmys spotlight: Lewis Pullman scores top marks in ‘Lessons in Chemistry’
For Hill, “the shapes that we create on set” with the hairstyles “actually help to tell the story.” She explains, “You have to research the economic status of a character. You have to take into consideration the storyline as well. Like with Elizabeth Zott,...

Apple TV’s new thriller miniseries The Last Thing He Told Me released its latest episode this week, and it’s everything that we wanted from a thriller with star power like Jennifer Garner and Nikolaj Coster Waldau. The episode finally clears up a lot of the confusion regarding the whole situation and helps give us a picture of what is happening. In the previous week, Hannah and Bailey had arrived at the library of the University of Texas, where they found a yearbook that had a picture of a woman named Katherine Smith, who looked strikingly like Bailey. What do Hannah and Bailey find out about this woman? Here’s the detailed recap of Episode 5.
The Never Dry
Hannah and Bailey still can’t believe the picture they have just seen on the computer screen of the woman who looks so strikingly like Bailey Michaels. Bailey thinks back to...

While we try to figure out why the Emmys exist when incredible actors like "Hannibal's" Mads Mikkelsen and "Orphan Black's" Tatiana Maslany are snubbed, we do want to congratulate this year's few horror nominees, especially "American Horror Story: Coven" with 17 nods.
Below are the horror highlights. For the full rundown of all the talented nominees, visit the official Emmys website, and be sure to watch the live broadcast of the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards on NBC on Monday, August 25th, at 8:00 Pm Et/5:00 Pm Pt.
Also notable, if not quite horror, are "Game of Thrones" with 19 nominations (including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Directing for Neil Marshall, Outstanding Supporting Actor for Peter Dinklage, and Outstanding Supporting Actress for Lena Headey) and "True Detective" with 12 (including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor for both Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey).

Good morning all! I'm back from Las Vegas and have so many goodies to share with you. But first, I'd like to pay tribute to the lesbian victims of 9/11. Never let them be forgotten.
Today we remember Renee Barrett, survived by her partner Enez Cooper and her son Eddie; Pamela Boyce, survived by partner Catherine Anello; Carol Flyzik, survived by partner Nancy Walsh; Sheila Hein, survived by partner Peggy Neff; Patricia McAneney, survived by partner Margaret Cruz; and Catherine Smith, survived by partner Elba Cedeno. May they rest in peace.

On last night's The Voice, De'Borah Garner made me like a Train song. That's not so easy to do. I'm still mad the DJ played this song at my wedding. I digress.

Per usual, horror didn't make a particularly strong showing during the announcement of the nominees for 2010 Emmys, but a couple of fan favorites made the cut once again and several stars that we call our own were recognized as well.
Here's a list of the horror-tinged shows that were recognized (with a few others whose fanbase includes a lot of our readers and staff members thrown in for good measure).

Despite being nominated for Best Drama and having its star Anna Paquin win Best Actress in a TV Drama at this year's Golden Globes, "True Blood" was shut out of the major categories for the 2009 Emmy Awards, which announced its nominees earlier today. But that's not to say it, and a few other genre-related shows, won't be showing up at the party.

It's a good day for funny people, especially if your name is Tina Fey or Seth MacFarlane.
Fey's series, 30 Rock, was handed 22 Emmy nominations this morning, which stands as a record for a comedy series. She and Alec Baldwin were also nominated for acting awards. Plus, for the first time some of the other actors on NBC's laffer were recognized. Jane Krakowski, Jack McBrayer and Tracy Morgan all picked up supporting nominations.
MacFarlane's Family Guy was also nominated for best comedy series, the first time an animated show has cracked that category since The Flintstones in 1961. Two years ago MacFarlane decided to pull his show from contention in the animated series category to have it considered for best comedy.
Mad Men, the drama about the advertising world in the sixties, picked up 16 nominations in the drama categories, including a best actor nod for Jon Hamm. Hamm is also nominated as...
