Rush Hour 2 needs no introduction. When the first movie came out in 1998, no one could have imagined the acclaim and success it would achieve – earning millions at the box office and basically begging for the next part. Usually, nothing exceptional ever comes out of sequels and neither is it expected.
Almost every time, the virgin feeling of the movie concept is absent, the storyline is on a similar pattern, there is no plot mystery and the viewer's feeling for expecting something new is usually not there. It is because, in most cases, the second or third part feels like the continuation of the same idea or maybe something new but on a slightly different tangent. Rush Hour 2 feels just like that. However, it is not implied in any way that the movie is bad – In fact the complete opposite.
You will find watching Rush Hour 2 like coming...

Homicide: Life on the Street is streaming on Peacock, bringing joy to fans of its original ’90s run, fans of Andre Braugher, and those who will become fans after their first viewing.
This popular and critically beloved show has been available on DVD for years but was Mia on any streaming service until now.
Homicide: Life on the Street joins two other classic shows, Moonlighting and Northern Exposure, that were lost to streaming until recently.
(NBC/Youtube screenshot)
Like Homicide: Life on the Street, these two shows had at least been available for purchase on DVD, whereas many other shows from that era weren’t so lucky.
Since streaming is how most people access visual media these days, just how many other forgotten gems of TV history are we missing out on?

Exclusive: Boxing mother-and-son drama Undercard, starring comedian Wanda Sykes in her first big dramatic film role, has begun principal photography in Puerto Rico for Catalyst Studios.
Emmy Award-winning Sykes plays Cheryl “No Mercy” Stewart, a two-time former boxing champion and recovering alcoholic.
The movie follows her attempts to reconnect with 20-year-old son Keith, a talented but troubled young man, played by rising star Bentley Green (Heist 88), who has followed his mother’s footsteps into the boxing ring.
When Keith finds himself alone in his corner, because of his gambling-addicted trainer, he is forced to turn to his mother. Determined to right past wrongs, she embarks on a mission to train her son for glory in a World Championship title fight.
They are joined in the cast by William Stanford Davis (Abbott Elementary), Xavier Mills, Estella Kahiha, Berto Colon and Puerto Rican star Roselyn Sanchez.
Undercard marks the sixth production in two years for Catalyst Studios.
It is directed by Tamika Miller and co-written by Miller and Anita M. Cal.
The movie is billed as following in the tradition of Raging Bull, Million Dollar Baby and Creed, but with the story told through the eyes of the trainer.
“It is about the struggle and survival of the human spirit. Getting up when life does its best to knock you down. This powerful, moving story is a metaphor for our own challenges. And it shows Wanda like we have never seen her before,” said Catalyst Studios Chairperson Holly Anderson Levow.
“I’m thrilled to have this amazing cast bring Undercard to life, with Wanda leading the way in what I know will be a breathtaking performance,” said Miller.
Veteran producer Anne Clements along with local producers Frances Lausell and Andres Ramirez are overseeing production in Puerto Rico. Kim Coleman is Co-Producer. Sykes also serves as an executive producer.

The season of the very first sign of the zodiac is here, and that’s exactly why being a leader comes so easy for Aries folks.
And that’s no joke, Aries really don’t know what else to be but a boss, CEO or innovator, because they’d rather play by their own rules. They march to the beat of their own drum and rarely ever need anyone to play backup instrumentals. Their charm, playful personality and great sense of humor make up for their impulsiveness and sometimes hot-temper, and there’s absolutely no other sign who will keep it all the way real with you like an Aries does, even if it’s something you don’t want to hear. They tell it like it is, as dishonesty goes against their entire m.o.

Devious Maids season 5 was canceled due to declining ratings but left fans with a massive cliffhanger involving Marisol's disappearance. Despite no news of a revival, the cast members have continued to work consistently in various television and film projects after the series ended. Could Devious Maids ever be revived? With most actors aging out of their roles, the chances seem unlikely without commitments from the cast members.
Devious Maids season 5 never aired because the show was canceled right after season 4, but devoted fans have always been interested in seeing the series renewed. Premiering in June 2013 on Lifetime but produced by ABC, the four seasons of Devious Maids follow the lives of four Latina maids working in Beverly Hills, California. In 2012, Eva Longoria wrapped up the eighth and final season of Desperate Housewives, and she had a decision to make about her future. “That last year of Housewives,” she says, “I remember getting every single show offered to me to star in … to star in … to star in …”
Amid the throes of the streaming era, it’s easy to forget the omnipresence of a network breakout like Housewives. In its first season in 2004, Housewives was pulling in more viewers on Sunday nights than the average Sunday Night Football game does in 2023. The show — along with early-aughts entries Grey’s Anatomy and Lost — helped catapult network ABC back to primetime dominance. Bob Iger, who was named CEO of ABC parent company Disney in the year after Housewives’ debut, “would take us to dinner, individually,” remembers Longoria. (By its last season, Housewives’ prominence had waned — its May 2012 series finale clocked in with half...

While Fantasy Island didn't generate big ratings in its first season, the reboot did pick up 60-75% more viewers in the live+7 day ratings. The Fox network's studio also co-produces the show and that means Fantasy Island generates some extra revenue for the company, which is important these days. Will this be enough to get Fantasy Island renewed for season three, or could it be cancelled? Stay tuned. *Status Update Below.

Liz Craft and Sarah Fain have been working and writing together since they were fifteen. In television, they have partnered as writers and producers on several major network shows like The Fix, Lie To Me, and Dollhouse.
They are the dynamic duo behind the Fox hit revival of Fantasy Island, which has just finished its second season with an emotional and satisfying finale.
Speaking with TV Fanatic over Zoom (Days before the unfortunate news of the show's cancellation), the pair are as in sync discussing their show as they are in producing the whimsical yet thought-provoking series.
While the Fantasy Island IP has undergone a couple of revivals/reboots since the original series concluded in 1984, this is the first that truly builds on the legacy of Ricardo Montalban and his wish-granting domain.

Fox has opted not to renew drama series “Fantasy Island” for a third season, the network announced on Tuesday, one day after airing its second season finale.
It’s the same strategy they took with the Mayim Bialik-led sitcom “Call Me Kat,” after its third season finale failed to draw sufficient numbers. The last episode of “Fantasy Island,” titled “Mj Akuda & The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Wives Club,” earned 1.8 million viewers and a 0.2 rating in the demo.
“We were very pleased with ‘Fantasy Island’s’ fun and escapist creative, which we had hoped would gain strong traction among viewers,” the network said in a statement shared with TheWrap. “Sony Pictures Television is an important partner of ours, and we look forward to continuing to work with them on ‘Accused,’ ‘Alert: Missing Persons Unit,’ ‘Doc’ and the upcoming animated series ‘Universal Basic Guys/Hoagie Bros.'”

No more tropical island escapes for Fox: the network is not renewing Fantasy Island for a third season.
Fox greenlit the contemporary version of the classic drama series in 2021. The series, which takes place at a luxury resort, starred Roselyn Sanchez stars as Elena Roarke, a descendant of the original series’ enigmatic Mr. Roarke.
The series was done under a low-cost business model, so its threshold for success was lower. But Fox still decided to have the sun set on its summer series.

Fox won’t be making any more trips to Fantasy Island.
The network has canceled its drama series after two seasons and 23 episodes. The end for the series comes a day after its second-season finale aired.
Created and run by Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain, Fantasy Island is a sequel to and update of the 1977-84 ABC series that starred Ricardo Montalban. Roselyn Sánchez stars as Elena Roarke, a descendant of Montalban’s character who runs a resort that offers to fulfill its guests’ dreams and desires. Kiara Barnes and John Gabriel Rodriquez also star.
The series, a co-production of Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment, premiered in summer 2021 and drew a relatively modest audience — though large enough that, combined with the show’s relatively low cost compared to other hour-long dramas, earned it a second season. Warning: Spoilers for the season 2 finale of Fantasy Island.Another season of Fox's Fantasy Island reboot has come to a close and is currently waiting on a renewal announcement from the network. Although the fate of the series remains unknown, the season 2 finale wrapped up several ongoing plot lines and ended on a high note. Ruby regained her memory and reunited with her daughter, Elena and Javier exchanged "I love yous," and the three women who came to the island for revenge left with a sense of peace.
Despite the closure the finale provided, there are still plenty of stories to be told about Roarke and her guests at the magical resort. Liz Craft and Sarah Fain serve as co-showrunners and executive producers of the series and have worked on several projects together such as The Vampire Diaries, The Fix, and The 100. The magic is turned up to eleven on Fantasy Island Season 2 Episode 13, with Elena bringing in Ruby's daughter to combat Isla's mermaid-siren song and a trio of guests wielding a spellbound poppet.
We've never seen Isla frightened before, but Mj's presence on the Island puts her fins in a twist as she senses Ruby's enthrallment may not hold up against a mother's love.
Meanwhile, the trio of Gavin Beck's wives, past and present, prove formidable in their vengeance.
Classic mythology and literature are rife with trios of powerful female figures.
Greek mythology has the Fates, Furies, and Graces. Hinduism, the Tridevi. Shakespeare's Macbeth, the Witches.
Gavin Beck didn't have a chance.
Granted, the Beck Wives come at their collective fantasy with some wrongheadedness.
Sue: Our fantasy is to get revenge on our husband.
Jenna: We want him to feel as awful as he made us feel.
Brooklyn: We want him to hurt.

Jason Priestley became a TV heartthrob on Beverly Hills, 90210, and now he’s back on Fox as a total heartbreaker! The Canadian actor-director-producer guest stars on Fantasy Island as Gavin Beck, a faithless doctor whose current wife (Amanda Tavarez) and two exes beg island steward Elena Roarke (Roselyn Sánchez) to grant their wish: that this lothario feel the pain he’s caused them! Here, Priestly breaks down his appearance in the Monday, May 8 Season 2 finale of Fantasy Island, fittingly titled “Mj Akuda & the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Wives Club.” 90210 never sent you to Puerto Rico! How was shooting in paradise? Jason Priestly: Really fun. It is a beautiful island with lots of historical sites—not to mention beautiful beaches! Beck sounds like a piece of work. How bad do the ladies stick it to him? Dr. Beck wasn’t the nicest character I’ve played. But he isn’t the worst either.

Screen Rant is pleased to present an exclusive clip from Gringa, which releases on April 21 in select theaters and On Demand. The Gravitas Releasing film centers on a high school teenager named Marge Bickford who is already dealing with a case of unpopularity when she tragically loses her mother. Despite barely knowing her father, she heads down to Mexico in order to live with him — and comes to find that he may need her as much as she needs him.
Gringa stars Jess Gabor (who played Kelly Keefe in Shameless) with White Lotus' Steve Zahn as her father, Jackson. Their burgeoning family bond is at the heart of the film, but they are buoyed by a number of heartwarming performances. The ensemble cast includes Judy Greer as Marge's mother, Roselyn Sanchez as Elsa, Vantina Buzzurro Azusana, and more.

"Sometimes you have to go south... to find home." Gravitas has revealed a trailer for an indie comedy titled Gringa, from filmmakers Marny Eng & E.J. Foerster - both were also working as second unit directors in Hollywood. The film recently premiered at the 2023 Cinequest Film Festival just last month, and will be out on VOD in just a few weeks. A troubled teenage girl runs away to Mexico after her mother passes away, to find the father that she has never known. She discovers him there, penniless, where they learn that a family can be put back together, even if all they have are the missing pieces. Steve Zahn plays the missing father, who seems to be a careless old surfer living right on the beach, coaching soccer for a job. Jess Gabor co-stars as Marge, joined by Roselyn Sanchez, Judy Greer, Valentina Buzzurro, & Jorge A. Jimenez. This looks a bit cheesy,...

Eric Winter and Roselyn Sanchez have come to Eva Longoria’s defense after The Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden spoke out against their friend’s comments about soap operas. “I was like, ‘you’re messing with my girl? Not happening,'” Sanchez said on the “He Said, Ella Dijo” podcast before she and Winter detailed what was said. While speaking with Chris Wallace, Longoria shared that while working on The Young and the Restless (2001-2003), she kept her day job at a temp agency because she wasn’t being paid enough to live off of. However, she hadn’t wanted her clients to know she was an actress on the soap opera, so she asked that no one say she was working there. “One time she got recognized by a client, it was very awkward,” Winter explained. “The bottom line is this grumpy actor Eric Braeden, older gentleman who’s a soap veteran,...
